when I was a kid, the nigerian military govt used super eagles to distract the people. Nigeria had a good team, and we always did well in soccer. people were suffering and the government was looting our money but we didnt care as long as we could win junior world cup, win olympics soccer gold, win african soccer gold, we were happy.

today, we no longer have excellent teams, people for once focussed on our problem, tuface tried to start something and the govt was hysterical, harrassed tuface and the fainthearted singer chickened out. Now people are getting more furious, a young man in youtube has called for the revolutionary mass burial of all our polithiefcians and a complete take over of the government by the youth, govt is scared. . . . .and next we hear is Big Brother. . . . BBN successfully dsitracted nigerians from their mess, now the BBN show is over and they tried to bring back EFCC show, when that backfired, they tried to pin it on GEJ as a way to tell nigerians. . . "we may be doing badly but remember we saved u from PDP" . . .and when that backfired they have now started using what I call the "after-BBN-show"; same polithiefcians who cant pay their workers will budget million of dollars to welcome home BBN members. . . while the populace cheers on. . . . while our universities are begging for funds, hospitals are dead ends, roads are death traps, trains are . . . who knows. . .
for years I have been praying for nigeria to drop out in soccer, world cup, olympics etc so that we have no distraction but the hardship in the land. with NEPA taking our light, unable to do anything but to step out and see the stolen opulence of our kleptocratic political overseers. But Nigerians are busy with the BBN aftershock events like "homecoming". . . when I look at Nigeria, I see the reason why the white man calls black people monkeys.
If only by some stroke of miracle, ALL nigerians will be transported to US/UK/Canada etc for just 72hrs and brought back to Nigeria. so we can ALL have an insight into how a society should look like, i'm sure about 5-10% of the population will rise in perpertual anger against this government of mediocrity and their media war masters. . . .and that is all we need for the revolution to start.
