Fikky2016:
Good Aftun to you all,
please guys I need help about funding my block account, I just got admission Stuttgart university,

On the German embassy website I saw two options,
1. opening a block account through Dutch bank
2. Using online platform called fintiba
Details are here...

The fintiba solution was developed for foreign students so as to reduce the bottle neck of opening account through the Dutch bank, faster and easier as stated.

So please is there any body that have used the fintiba solution ?
I mean someone that have first hand experience with it. ?
Thanks.

Hello Nigermans,
I intend to apply for a M.Eng/M.Sc Civil Engineering admission at a couple of German universities. I should have applied earlier but have been trying to save up to N8m to avoid stories that touch. So far I have about N4m. I know the German university search sites recommend a total of about E8000 for a year bla bla bla undecided. But as an original Naija guy wey know wetin him dey find, I'm not interested in flamboyance and excesses. I wish to cut all unnecessary spending. So, I need to know if I can make do with N4m for four semesters (for all expense) otherwise what figure can I consider. of course I intend to work while studying. I also need to know what amount the authorities want to see as financial capacity proof. Abeg make una epp a brother.

Germany is 100X better than those countries u made mention. Remember in Canada, after paying tuition fees of maybe 8-10k$CAD u still have to show proof of living expenses of 10k$CAD coupled upon the fact that you could be denied visa while applying. Please tell me if German bank or the embassy would tell u the €8000 u re to pay is meant for them or you. Try and be considerate a bit and if deutsch policies don't seem reasonable to you why not try ur so called UK,US and Canada after years of being denied and spending your hand earned naira. Next pls

With the 8700euro required by the authorities and your plan to work while studying u will be fine.

Expenses here depends on alot of factor e.g Location of the school, lifestyle etc...

U will use the formula on their site.. to convert your grade to German grade. Course by course. U will need your transcripts in hand. For example, let's take 100l first semester lets say u took 10 courses. First one is statistics u had a B say 60. Your 60 in German score will be highest achieveable score - 60 divided by highest achieveable score - pass score multiplied by 3 then plus one.

Say for example. Highest score is 100. Pass mark is 40. U score 60 . Your German score is 100- 60/ 100- 40 equals 40/60 equals 0.67. 0.67× 3 = 2.0. 2.0+1 = 3.0.
So u this for all the courses u have taken one by one

Usually u will see they in category on your site. For example under mathematics as a category will put in all mathematics related course with their units and the German score in that category..

I hope this helps

Also pls anyone else can correct if my explanation is wrong

I saw it clearly stated 'Enter your grades as stated on your transcript. Foreign grades do not need to convert to the German scale..... Numerical grades preferred.'

Check with me oooo

Good, try and get information when it's need arises before giving people false impression about the German policies.

I can attest to you that what the German government is offering not even our own bastardised Nigeria can offer.
Lemme make a point to you and you can make ur research via the UK, US and Canadian study Permit Visa thread --- with your hard earned millions of Naira, this 3 countries will deny U visa if u can't convince or prove to their VO's what you gonna offer them as if say na so dem good reach and everybody for there na upper class citizen. U see people talking about #25-30m and still fighting hard to get Canadian study permit --- Shay Ogun laiye nii undecided
whereas here in Germany, with ur admission letter and ur blocked account of #3.5-4.0m / German sponsorship letter, u re in Germany str8 up.

Germany to me still remain the best destination for students as matter stands
