azaino: You lie. When God makes a promise to any individual, it comes with certain obligations. To bring the promise into effect and secondly to maintain its effect. To begin with, Abraham was told to circumcise all the males in his household as a sign of the covenant. Then he and his offspring were expected to walk in a way that was remarkedly different from that of other people. |

otipoju:you amaze me, but I won't say anything further, you better read the bible and know better. the only thing Abraham did was his faith and believe in God that the promises will come true. Abraham did not do any other to help or please God, just believe. and that is what Christ brought too, faith to replace law and works. no matter your works if you don't believe in the resurrected Christ you are still in your sin. Even that circumcission you mentioned is no longer valid or important for Christian, they are all shadows, the real deal has come, and that is Jesus Christ. |

Outside the source of the income, how many people are willing to pay tithe? When a huge figure is involved, so many don't pay their tithes. The question then is whether Efe is willing to pay his tithe. Again, if he is not born again, he has no business with tithe because he doesn't have any relationship with God. |

azaino: brother stop confusing yourself. A little knowledge is dangerous. when God called Abraham from the land of Ur, did he not give him certain instructions especially concerning the lifestyle of he and his offspring. In the New Testament is there not a scripture passage that says..." Romans 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? |

otipoju:it says shall we continue in sin (not to sin). apostle Paul was talking about the sin nature that human race are into already, the sin that Adam bought for us, we were brought into this world in sin and we continue in this sin, until we accept Christ through whom sin is forgiven. A child born into this world today is born into sin, hope you know that. What God did for Abraham was not dependent on how him and his family lived. it was dependent on God's promises to Abraham and on Abraham's faith on God. why are you finding it too hard to understand ? 1 Like |

azaino: your reasoning is very flawed. ill not waste my time with you anymore. salvation is not dependent on human works as it the remission of sins was brought about by Christs death on calvary. however, the believer is required to alter his life to conform to Gods dictate. you cannot claim to be a Christian and engage in sinful behavior repeatedly. |

Sylverofficial:Jesus didn't instruct his followers to do such neither did the early disciples engage in it. Tithing was given 2 d jews 4 d descendants of Levi. The jews who were given dt law don't tithe again because dere r no more levites so y shld we who d law wasn't given continue enforcing it? |

Sylverofficial: MALACHI is the OLD testament! Tithing was a very important command then, why did Jesus not list it in his command? 1. Tithing were for the Israelites (strictly). No other tribes were allowed to tithe. You are not an Israelite 2. ONLY the Levite's were allowed to collect tithes, they were specifically a chosen people(priests) by God to collect tithes. 3. That was a mosaic law. The new law of Christ is strictly LOVE! Once a new prophet(law), the High Priest comes, the old one passes away, he paid all our debts. 4. The widow did not give 10%, she gave her ALL! it was not the money Jesus was impressed with, it was her attitude. Jesus wants us to give our all to him and our fellow man. 5. The Early Christians and Apostles NEVER collected or paid tithes. It all began with Protestantism. 6. The Jews right now do not even pay tithes anymore. Christian pastors are now the ones collecting tithes. Before you start chanting MALACHI! go and prepare your burnt offering and you must eat it oh! NOBODY should EVER say, they are not giving tithe to the pastor, it is God. Are you a sheep? Is you pastor a levite? Are you an Israelite? You are being deceived! Your pastor does not know sheeple(actually most of them know this, but business comes first). They are building mansions and private jets and their congregations are scrapping their mud houses to pay tithes. You are free, but in bondage. Be Wise, Start thinking with your head. Smh....people are on the streets dying and you are feeding your pastor. Abeg borrow wisdom. Hebrew 7 should do it for you, or else... |

HEBREW 7 This “Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God Most High,” “met Abraham as he returned from his defeat of the kings” and “blessed him.” And Abraham apportioned to him “a tenth of everything.” His name first means righteous king, and he was also “king of Salem,” that is, king of peace. Without father, mother, or ancestry, without beginning of days or end of life, thus made to resemble the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. See how great he is to whom the patriarch “Abraham [indeed] gave a tenth” of his spoils. The descendants of Levi who receive the office of priesthood have a commandment according to the law to exact tithes from the people, that is, from their brothers, although they also have come from the loins of Abraham. But he who was not of their ancestry received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had received the promises. Unquestionably, a lesser person is blessed by a greater. In the one case, mortal men receive tithes; in the other, a man of whom it is testified that he lives on. One might even say that Levi himself, who receives tithes, was tithed through Abraham, for he was still in his father’s loins when Melchizedek met him. If, then, perfection came through the levitical priesthood, on the basis of which the people received the law, what need would there still have been for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not reckoned according to the order of Aaron? When there is a change of priesthood, there is necessarily a change of law as well. Now he of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, of which no member ever officiated at the altar. It is clear that our Lord arose from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. It is even more obvious if another priest is raised up after the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become so, not by a law expressed in a commandment concerning physical descent but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed. For it is testified: “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” On the one hand, a former commandment is annulled because of its weakness and uselessness, for the law brought nothing to perfection; on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God. And to the degree that this happened not without the taking of an oath —for others became priests without an oath, but he with an oath, through the one who said to him: “The Lord has sworn, and he will not repent: ‘You are a priest forever’”— to that same degree has Jesus [also] become the guarantee of an [even] better covenant. Those priests were many because they were prevented by death from remaining in office, but he, because he remains forever, has a priesthood that does not pass away. Therefore, he is always able to save those who approach God through him, since he lives forever to make intercession for them. It was fitting that we should have such a high priest: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, higher than the heavens. He has no need, as did the high priests, to offer sacrifice day after day, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did that once for all when he offered himself For the law appoints men subject to weakness to be high priests, but the word of the oath, which was taken after the law, appoints a son, who has been made perfect forever. READ THE BOLDED OPEN MINDEDLY(it is not a sin) Jesus the high priest never collected tithes nor did he teach his followers to tithe or collect tithes, why should you be bound by the old law when Jesus has paid the debt? And he gave us a new command, Love your neighbour as yourself. |

Robynwelo1:Melchizedek was a king of Salem that collected the tenth(tithe) from Abram, he was also a priest of whom Jesus took after his priesthood in(Psm:110:vs 4) so if Melchizedek can accept tithe,Jesus never kicked against it he can also accept tithe too, nd we are Christ like(Christians)following the steps of Christ, the pastors can be said to be priests,Christ had never preached against tithe so they can also collect tithe frm d right source 'OKAY' |
