Based on my profession, with some levels of experience, it has been confirmed that so many people have some levels of respect for electrical experts, due to the way they carried out their works,
Some people derived fear in electricity, probably due to some past experience they must have had through it.
Though, I've also experienced some minor electric shock while on duty, and thats normal to my profession.
The question is: Have you once experienced an electric shock?

9 years old, the electrician told me not to touch that exact red wire as he left searching for a black tape, then I was like "what will happen"
The rest was history.. He knew something was wrong when "me " the stubborn child seems so gentle all through his stay.

15years,
I went to my uncles place and brought out this pressing iron packed in a box not to be used.. I pluggd this iron and used my hand as a thermometer to feel how hot the element was... Jesus.. It was as if the earth stood still. I saw my self on the bed gentle..

Some years back..
I was trying to fix a faulty extension box. Truth be told, that thing deceived me as it worked before the power went off, the power was restored and I tried it again but hell No, I opened it up and notice the wires I joined had loosen up. Forgetting there was a current innit, I used my hand to join the wires without switching it off from the source.. I saw my self in the mid air and half of my body landed on the bed while the rest On the ground.. Yes I was gentle through out the day.

Forming engineer up and down

Then that bastard Black and White "NATIONAL" TV decided to start showing in half ( 3:59 Tom and Jerry cartoon will start by 4:10)

By myself , i searched for tester ( didn't find it , should have given up ) {maybe it was sign from heavens}

By myself , i went to the 3rd house on my street to borrow it { I must watch cartoon se, i no go gree}

By myself , i opened the back cover {In my mind , Engineer to pure }

By myself , i twisted both of the buttons in the back to adjust image (It didn't work )

By myself , I went straight for long white fuse on the back of display tube { Like a boss}

By myself , I placed that motherfucking tester on that fuse


Needless to say , i landed on our cushion chair , sat there looking at blank tv, paralyzed , for weeks my head felt like i was carrying Nigeria


For my life .......Anything Electric , no be this world again

It happened two years ago.

I was doing my IT in a pure water factory. The factory also has a petrol station. So both the petrol station and the factory are using one big generator.

So one day, we were working, there was water on the floor as usual. So PHCN took the light and we switched to generator. All i could remember was that the machine held my hand, i was shouting and to free myself was like fighting world war III. Later i found myself inside pool of water on the floor.

We were later told that one petrol pump at the petrol station was faulty and the thing was returning light to the earth. So the earth transferred light to the machines we were using.

I couldnt use my right hand and right leg for two weeks. Till now, i dont go near anything that can shock me.

It is not something i want to experience again

I just came back from the market where I got drenched with rain water,feeling cold I decided to boil water with the electric kettle to have my bath.i was 38 wks preggy then.sometime later I went to check if it was working(one of the Chinko kettles we got as wedding gift wey no get indicator),with my wet bare hands I placed it on the metal body and bam! my hand got stuck.I tried using the 2nd hand,brethren ,I started going backwards shouting with no one to help.
this 5 litr kettle filled with water got suspended in my hands like it was empty,fortunately as I was going backwards the wire got disconnected from the socket and the current broken,immediately the kettle fell off my palms.
Till today I don't touch any electrical equipment without switching off the socket,even phone xharger.I couldnt imagine what could have happened.God I thank you.

Mine was a capacitor from a DVD player. I have this zeal for dismantling anything electrical gadget. So I wanted to watch this Jackie Chan movie collections. The DVD player didn't power up, so I switched it off, removed the plug from the socket and unscrewed it. I started touching and shaking every component on the board. Then I touched the capacitor. I didn't know how it happened, I only noticed I found myself some meters away from the DVD player. My heart beat gathered momentum, I couldn't feel blood in my veins. I sat on that spot for over 5 minutes, I couldn't talk within that period, I was just sweating.

I was in shock. I remembered I pulled the plug out of the socket. I only found out why I was electrocuted the next day. I never knew Capacitors do store electricity for some time.

Yes!
Capacitor do store Electricity, that's why before any technician can work on any electronics he should first disconnects the gadjet from Electricity, and the capacitor must be properly discharged before any other things.
