It's not even that cheap. I got a cheaper deal on Emirates last year to the UK. I was surprised Medview and Arik were more expensive than Emirates and the likes. But I wouldn't go near them with a 50-inch pole.
Shawbabe:

Lol...I don't know why, but I always advise people to stay away from Nigerian airlines when flying international...at least till we get our act together. We have a way of messing passengers up without remorse. And when you complain, they say abi you want cheap flight.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by mimimum: 3:05pm On Apr 20, 2017
It depends on the organization. When I apply for maternity leave, I do it on the portal, my HR does not see me to know I am pregnant. When mat leave time comes, I put in that one too. It is harder the other way round tho. Taking the mat leave first and then asking for annual leave later on in the same year.
Chirolechick:
you can't take annual and maternity leave in a year, but if you do, it will be deductible from your maternity leave, therefore take 5days leave go for the vacay, when applying for maternity leave, they can deduct it from your maternity, 5days isn't that much. This is assuming your company operates this way o

Interesting. I don't even bother going on their sites. Especially Arik, I don't fly them domestic either. All the horror experiences people have had...nah mehn.

In the spirit of giving back, would like to share my POE experience. First and foremost, I would like to thank the house for all the valuable information I found on this forum. I left Lagos on the 27th of March with Emirates at 33 weeks 6 days and arrived on the 29th. I had my fitness to fly and my signed MEDIF form dated 24th March which I had sent to the medalos email address someone provided on this forum on the same 24th preceding my trip. Check in went smoothly, the only thing I submitted was the fitness to fly, the MEDIF form was not collected. I wasn't disturbed about being above 32 weeks, though I had also called the airline earlier to confirm that I could fly. I was in Dubai for 24 hours and rested well, I wasn't asked for fitness to fly before boarding the flight to Dallas, though on the plane, an air hostess asked to see it after i requested to be allowed to have the whole row to myself since the flight was not full. on arrival in Dallas, used the self-check Kiosk, took a photograph and carried my printed receipt and passport to the CBP officer after collection of all my luggage. The self-check kiosk almost messed me up as it refused to read my passport and visapage...but thankfully an officer helped me because it already sent me to an exception line. The CBP officer didn't ask me any question at all. Just collected my passport, the receipt and the immigration landing card where i had already declared that i had food, he stamped me in for 6 months, then asked what food i had, i said some egusi, dried fish and a few other things, so he sent me to Agric for luggage check. That was all......no questions on purpose of visit, or how much i had, or anything at all....not even are you pregnant despite my big belle. All my documents remained in my hand luggage. i was really happy. Agric was also a breeze....nothing was seized, infact the officer there declared me his fav passenger for the day after i rechristened him Ademola since he was trying so hard to speak some Yoruba. lolll

Now i have arrived and have rested a bit...i need to get the hospital ball rolling...@MiddyO and @Boluwagin...... i need your assistance...please PM me. i intend to use Baylor, Scott and White Carrolton. I have already gotten in touch with Dr Stimage's office and i am waiting to see if she can fit me in for an appointment, but please i need contact of the Paediatrician and anesthesia services you used or are using as well as the hospital fees and breakdown on any additional blood work and sonogram you may have done and the connect for it so i can have a total picture of the expected expenditure. would appreciate a quick response. Thank you

Justwise,

If you're going to be fair and not partial (not that it grates me in any way anyways) why leave the posts where Ms. Resident Schizo called me stupid several times and hide the hearty banter posts between Sugah and I? What's that called? Selective hiding? Ayam not understanding

Please does anyone have experience with EgyptAir? What's their inflight entertainment like? They seem to be the cheapest right now - under 1m for 3 passagers. Please anyone who used them recently should help with a review abeg.

Not bad from what I heard, and they lodge you in the hotel during stopover with plenty food.

Shawbabe:

Let me just tell you...not that you need to hear from a mentally disturbed person like me. But hey!
You are better off going with Qatar. I flew Egypt air as a student back in the days to Abuja...klm had plane issues when we got to Amsterdam, so they dumped us on Egypt air to Cairo then to naija. And my dear, even as a single babe then, the flight was very uncomfortable. No IFEs, not even a magazine to read. I can't remember the food quality but I won't advice anyone...not even you who determined my wereyness grin to fly with their family. Especially kids, they would be bored outta their mind. Not to mention the change over in Cairo. Very stressful. You're better off with Qatar.

That was back in the day ........who know when, so you cant tell what happens now as you havent used them recently. I have someone who used them this jan and it was nice according to the person

Hi boluwagin.
Congrats on ur safe delivery. I was able to get in touch via mail to Dr stimage office and her prices were quoted. But the lady didn't include the hospital bills and told me to get in touch with the hospital myself.
Please how were u able to get in touch via mail to Baylor white Scott.
I will be needing the Hosp correspondence at the POE.
I ve sent a request to PM you.
Thanks

boluwagin:

So just as I promised to share my total bill and experience for my first Missionary Journey:

Hospital Bill - 3k for noncomplicated vaginal delivery (it has to be paid before discharge from the hospital to qualify for the discount package)

Dr fee - 1k for vaginal delivery (payment is due at initial doctors appointment)

Lab test - 158

Ultra scan - 120

Paediatrician - 300

Well Child Check - 95 (this was done at JPS hospital fort Worth)

LO birth cert. - 23 each (collected two copies)

American Passport - 165 (I got it by mail exactly 13days after applying)

I got my zero balance from the hospital by mail 3 weeks after discharge. I left US with LO on the 30th of March, got to Qatar and was hoping to get a transit visa to qualify for an hotel in Doha but sadly our Visa wasn't granted by the immigration, we had to stay at the airport for a 12hrs layover. Thank God it's finally over for now, I will hang my coat and hibernate till further notice. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences, bills and answered both my public and direct questions, God bless you all especially @chloe7 @temmyo ...@dyout Congratulations and thank you so so much for the assistance with LO letter of Consent and it was nice to meet your Madam a fellow Nairalander in diaspora.
Peace!

@Justwise, thanks for clearing the mess of the day But on a more serious note, is it that you can not find a permanent solution to this Shawbabe's issue?. I believe everybody can not be wrong. There are many decent people out here and not everyone will appreciate having to be drawn into using all these dirty languages. Biko, e jo, abeg help us find a lasting solution. Not everybody is cut out for all these.

Secretly, Justwise is enjoying the catfights. Perhaps it brings traffic to the thread. Anything for the money. If not, I don't understand why she has not been given a lifetime ban. Infact, 2 consecutive lifetime bans.
Rule number 2 was broken over and over again, yet nothing. Imagine the disgusting behaviour by someone's mother in a public forum. No decorum, no self respect. Appalling!

Why did you not report those posts in question? Some people reported those posts and i have been hiding them as soon as i got the report.

You were also involved in name calling so you should not tell me jack about fairness.

In my opinion, everyone that replies both her and Tpako are also to blame for this..
You are all enabling them by replying their barbs/insults and scarcastic comments. They bait you with such comments, you fireback and then the whole thread is derailed for like 2/3 pages. This MO has happened over and over again and y'all still fall for it.
I dont understand why everyone cannot just 'unlook them'.
By the time they insult the wind for like 4/5 pages cos nobody replies them, they'll open their own little thread somewhere and be trading insults
