Its easy ,I use glo too .
Its not just Nairaland ,other sites too.

I am a programmer so I found a work around .

My hypothesis : Glo tends to block some specific links when it has or passes too many requests , or seems suspicious in any way ,or takes time to load (in some instances).I can't really say why , but they block some links/pages,even on other sites.

Solution:
1.Get a vpn software , there are free ones you can use ,Opera for PC (the latest version) has an inbuilt vpn switch,it solves the problem of not being able to access certain pages,or links .
2.If you don't have a VPN software or dont want to get one , you can "trick" GLO or send a dummy request.
For example , you want to access www.nairaland.com/religion
Change it to www.nairaland.com/relgion/? or www.nairaland.com/relgion/?anything=anything
3.You can resolve it again by adding double slashes at the end of the link eg
https://www.nairaland.com/lalasticlala//

NOTE:Depending on the way the site is built 2 and 3 might not work , but 1 always works .

I also noticed a weird thing about Glo, It always lose network connectivity whenever I hold my phone on my left hand and gains full strength on the right hand... At first I thought it was my phone having my network antenna on my left side, until I tried it with 4 different phones.

There must be some explanations.

Glo is actually crap for browsing. sometimes pages open without loading images or
other times it can open a page without loading the CSS or Javascript.

Best is just to leave GLO as a backup for doing nonsense online and have another Network for your main work

For over a month now, I have been having hitches browsing with glo network on chrome, Firefox, internet explorer, both on mobile and on computers.

I noticed that I can't access the "religious", "new" features on nairaland with glo, I also can't modify and open some selected topics.

A times after modifying a topic, I can't open that thread again with glo.

But the glo network only works on Ucweb, Opera Mini.

This has forced me to dump glo for MTN that works perfectly in all the browsers. I used to do the N8000 glo subscription per month, but due to this issue, I did the N5k subscription & the last one I did was that of N1k subscription, while going for MTN bulk subscription which has been serving me perfectly.

Nairalanders, please who else is experiencing these problems of browsing with glo on Nairaland? Kindly share your experiences.

It works well on Uc browser and opera but doesn't on the ones I mentioned above.

YES! With Glo(on Chrome, Mozilla, Opera on my laptop), I can't open some threads, I can't view the NEW Topics and I can't reply some threads after opening them unless I use Operamini on my phone. Using Airtel now, I can open all posts

Been having this issue for weeks. Sadly, I can't find an NL complaints thread so I let it slide. Lost count of how many threads I had to ditch because of this. What I usually do is skip the page when it doesn't come up.

Eg. If page 33 of Arsenal thread doesn't show, I'll change the page number in the link to 34 it'll load.

Glo is arguably the best in Nigeria when you consider decent speed AND price. The big IF is if the network is good where you stay. If you come get Glo 4G for your area, na you enjoy pass. But if their network is crap in your area bruv, forget it. It's better you pay higher for MTN and the rest.

Lalasticlala you guys should consider a complaints/feedback thread sha (if there's nothing like that). Anyone who has issues can easily go there, any troll who trolls there will, well, get a ban.

I am, I've complained to Seun. I've also complained to Glo same thing no improvement. The Glo network works perfectly on other sites but has a partial blockage on nairaland.
In other news, pls, my friend Kingreign in Abuja has been banned. He said he is sorry, and has sent message to admin to forgive him. Pls, do pardon him and release him from his jail.

I can attest to this. I had to switch to MTN because Glo had difficulties loading some websites, Nairaland included. Mine is so bad that it doesn't even work on Ucweb. On the PC, it throttles itself and gets frustrating.

Glo really needs to up their game. It seems as though they aren't concerned about their numerous network difficulties.
