Lagos HOMS is an initiative of Lagos State Government, it's been on since Gov. Fashola's era as Lagos State governor.

Payslips, government Id, and the most difficult part is getting 2 directors from Lagos ministry to stand a guarantor... Its real, fair and transparent. @chicwoman, the Lagos state home ownership scheme also known as LAGOSHOMS is very real though has lost a bit of credibility since Ambode became governor but it's still real. I personally know people who won the ballot and are already living in their apartments. You need five years tax records amongst other documents and I don't think the requirements are stringent.
Which one are you interested in? In my opinion, the ones in the city are better though far more expensive but more organized because of the class of people living there unlike the ones in the suburbs that are owned by the lower class and mostly empty and begging for people to own them.

They are a credible Lagos owned establishment... however these days na inside bush the available houses de spring up... I have reported one federal secretariat that had been abandoned in Ikoyi... they should demolish and build a housing estate there...

Nope, you need to be a registered tax-paying resident of Lagos state.

P.s. I thought the real estate "consultant" was quite amusing. Offering a service requires more than just technical expertise. You need to keep yourself informed, or how else will you inform your clients?

OP, there's nothing wrong with buying an already existing apartment except if you have the time to monitor your building project on a weekly basis and probably also make some mistakes along the way...

Just make sure you do your due diligence well and never make any payment in cash
