Mutiu has been more occupied with being part of the Shooting stars board.D't think he has been aggressive about a national team coaching job. Nobody even hears any comment credited to him.

Look at Ikpeba and Amokachi. They are regular faces on our TV screens. But Mutiu, the last time I saw him on TV was during Yekini's burial as he was part of the burial organisng committee.

I do not know Mutiu that closely. Does he have communications problems?

So, the most vocal gets the job!? grin

You know players improve and some do not infact they diminish. This is even more pronounced at youth level.

All I have heard about Awoniyi so far, is. PAST GLORIES of yesteryears. How good is he now is a more concise question.

KC whether we like it or not has improved, however, Awoniyi simply has not. Indeed he has regressed. So he is essentially no longer relevant, until he can show progression.

In my opinion barring a miracle he will never play for Liverpool. Danny Ings cannot get into the side and he has proven pedigree and cost in excess of £10 million. Right now trying to offload Awoniyi to a Vanarama national league side would be problematic.

My emphasis so far pinpointed on dribbling skills and not how good he is or how he has progressed. grin

What is all this now. The only opportunity too see our local teams and appreciate some of our local stadiums.

Guess we need danycrusoe now even more than before. undecided

Good morning house, I was surprised that none of our league matches were on TV some 3 weeks back, and with the recent developments it's disappointing as I was even thinking of buying a gotv decoder to follow the matches but now it's out of the winning.

this myt have adverse effects on the league matches as clubs myt indulge in some dirty shenanigans due to the absence of camera, well dere isn't much to worry about as NFF and LMC officials are always around to see d games, that would reduce the damage to some extent.

But I am thinking if local coverage of the league is not well taken care of, what will now happen to the proposed rites of AIT to broadcast the matches in the UK, I even think AIT should get the full rights at once and continue where supersport have stopped. they may have poor coverage at the start but with time it would get better.

Oga Icon4s I know Collin udoh works with Kwese sports TV, maybe that's where they have edge as he is close to the top official, however my question is on what cable TV dish is Kwese sports on? so I can know which decoder to plan for, as a student e no easy but, once I have it, he Don become my own...

I laugh when I see questions like this......

Partly because it is the perfect opportunity for anyone to come on board and just say, 'well he used to have but pep has drilled it outta him...... The drilling school at the Etihad campus is anti-dribbling bla Bla Bla......'

AND PARTLY AGAIN...... because It shows how short many people's memories are.

Iheanacho...... Kelechi Iheanacho has never lost and will never lose his dribbling abilities. AGAINST Senegal, he was our most daring player when on the ball in the final third.... He showed daring skill moves on some occasions and una still dey ask if Nacho can dribble?? Which kain analytical discussions una dey get these days sef?

I need not go further into other games..... Zambia? Tanzania? Luxembourg?? Na wa oooo.... At Man City, Nacho has also shown same abilities albeit not so often as under pellegrini, he didn't need to be so flashy.... while under Pep, he is not exactly enjoying Pep's trust/confidence and haven't been given the opportunity to shine as much.... his best game under pep till date remains that Southampton game where he showed huge glimpses of his limitless talents.

But honestly.... Na wa oooo.... Iheanacho this, iheanacho that.... Almost every time, one dig or the other is aimed at the young man and worst... Things are said about his abilities which are so far from the truth.... ALL OF UNA SHOULD FEAR GOD OOOOO angry

And Egbon Forgiveness.... Abeg.... I take God beg you fa.... biko... abeg... I rate Taiwo Awoniyi so high... I am one of his few remaining believers on this thread sef.... u should know this by now.... I will never underrate that young man but plsss.... let us not sell the wrong info that Awoniyi is actually more technically gifted than Iheanacho... because even Awoniyi himself would disagree with you....

In Iheanacho, we are talking about a player who provided four out of Awoniyi's five goals at the U-17s if not all sef.... (if u doubt it... I can give you the matches for the four assists I know 100% by just verbal citation which you can go check out on YouTube)... I mean... these are games I watch again and again in my free time when I just wanna remind myself of when the Journey to the Birth of our second golden generation began..... and even for reasons beyond that.

Do you remember That Isaac Success goal against Sweden? It was rated the no.7 best goal at the 2013 FIFA U-17 WC because of is exquisiteness and execution.... You know who the provider of the assist was? yep... Kelechi himself... and Isaac was the finisher and would have gone on to destroy more opponents sef but injury happened shortly after that goal.

Talking of Awoniyi.... I will tell you we have a super hardworking player who contributes so much to Teamwork. Even Gyan Asamoah singled out Awoniyi for his uniqueness which is based on him being a hardworker upfront... this is why and how Awoniyi picked up five assists.... He was and still is a hard worker for the team and also possesses a subtlly fine sleek touch which he uses sometimes to beat one man and get into scoring positions... but ultimately, Awoniyi is a galloping horse upfront who can run for hours and not get tired. #HighWorkrate

[b]And also note.... Abeg.. anyone saying Awoniyi no get Aerial abilities.... una don fail am oooo.... against Sweden wetin him use score? and also as bonus... who set up the goal after nice work by Yahaya in the middle before spreading to the right for the "assist maker" to come in...? wink grin Now this brings me to my next point.

In that team, Musa Yahaya was the doyen when it came to limitless technical abilities closely followed by Isaac Success and then Kelechi Iheanacho (even as highly as I rate him this is the truth... na him be third most technically gifted back then.... I used to rate him second to Yahaya but again Success' injury made a lot of people miss out on what that lad would have done to opponents but ofcos... if he hasn't , Awoniyi won't get his chance... so life or should I say, opportunity happened).

So uhmmm... Sir Madaboi.... Kelechi Promise Iheanacho don't just still have dribbling in his skills closet... he actually has it in abundance.... only that they are being inhibited at man city.... but in Super Eagles games, you still see the class and the brilliance of the lad...

All nacho needs now is a team and coach who believes in him and trusts him and won't knock him even when he flunks just like How Awoniyi is enjoying his manager's confidence despite his barren run.

Iheanacho needs the permission from his manager to express himself..... because under pellegrini, we saw just flashes of it because of pellegrini's style.... and Nacho had to be more direct. And now under Pep.... he hardly or infact does not sees chances...

But his most expressive performance still remain that game at the etihad when he rescued Man City against Southampton.

The lad still got it and doesn't look like losing such class. smiley

Please, show m the YouTube make I watch small before I gree say Iheanacho sabi dribble pass Awoniyi. grin

You said it has been reduced at Manchester City. Now, you're talking. If I no see am for Manchester City, how I go come take know? grin

I know Iheanacho get many attributes pass Awoniyi but dribbling skills, I am not convinced. grin

Dem say Awoniyi no sabi dribble at all at all but the video said otherwise hence the need to do the needful. grin

It is not about past or current situation but about the ability to dribble. You get my point? grin

I do understand what you are saying.

However, if we are making comparison with other players. Then those variables have to be put into consideration. Otherwise our assessments will be unfair.

So, the most vocal gets the job!? grin

What pushed Oliseh forward was is not the constant criticism of Keshi's tactics?

I am not saying being vocal is what you need to get the job, it helps project you.

I have never read an article about Mutiu Adepoju's opinion about anything about the national teams. That aside.

He has never worked as any body's assistant at any level.

I am even hearing from you that he bagged a UEFA license before Oliseh. You don't just expect things to come your way when you are not actively involved in activities that will project you.

Besides that, do you, his spokes man/defender, even know if he is interested in handling any of our national teams?
Has there been any time that application was called for Super Eagles coaching job that he applied or any one mention his name?

Just be there and be crying marginalization. That is your usual way.

Sir Maidaboi..... smiley

Pls pardon me but I won't wanna rate the players just yet as some on your list haven't actually don't much on a higher level. Some are still in the beginning years of their pro careers... while some others are still trying to break into their main teams and Begin to shine....

I will wanna speak based on current stats and not the past. So permit me to pass up on this one wink

But I kinda like Chief Icon4s' ratings... I recommend it except for a few juggles in positions I would make if permitted... like for instance, I personally would rate Ajagun above Ndidi in dribbling... but hey.... every one has an angle to their list okay.... so Chief Icon4s' resonates with me more.... wink

Some1 said Kwese sports is on CTL. But that name 'Kwese' sounds Ghanaian.

Talking about AIT, that station mtcheeew.

Firstly they will come with some yeye-yeye commentators that don't even understand the rules of football and history of those clubs and players.

Secondly, the picture quality will not be different from that of the analogue NTA and also poor camera positioning and lack of good replays from vital angles.

Thirdly you cannot see weekly fixture just like how you see when you press ok on Super Sports

Fourthly, AIT Might plan to show a game and the next thing one political party will buy over that time from AIT to air live their political campaign. And next thing you'll see: "Sorry viewers we are not able to air the 3SC vs Kano Pillars match due to APC national convention holding in Abuja". You know stuffs like that. Or one Church will just buy that time and be showing one of their programs. Just like how AIT chose to show one Catholic show called 'Oremus" when we were waiting to watch Nigeria vs North Korea at 2015 WYC. Na my phone I take watch that naija match that day. The things just Dey just break and booth I no dey even see goal na when the players dey celebrate I dey know.

Ilechukwu Berates PFA XI Without Moses , Tips Ndidi To Make Future All - Star Team

Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, believes Super Eagles duo of Victor Moses and Wilfred Ndidi have been fantastic for Chelsea and Leicester City respectively this seaso, but understands why both Nigerians were not named in the PFA all-star team, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Professional Footballers Association on Thursday named the PFA Team of the Season which consisted of four Chelsea and four Tottenham Hotspur players.
The list also has a Liverpool, Manchester United and an Everton player on it.

"I think Victor Moses and Wilfred Ndidi have done a good job for their clubs so far. But perhaps you could say there are players who deserved it more," Ilechukwu told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"Moses is not a natural defender. He was converted to a wing-back at Chelsea by Antonio Conte, while Ndidi only joined Leicester City in January. The season began in August 2016.

"Politics is everywhere. I may not talk or argue much about Ndidi, but Moses is supposed to be among them because he has been one of Chelsea's best players this season. But I'm sure they can make such a team in the near future especially Ndidi."

Arsenal's duo of Alexis Sanchez and Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic were conspicuously missing from the lineup despite their huge roles at their clubs.

Sanchez has scored 19 Premier League goals while
Ibrahimovic has scored 28 goals in his maiden season in England.

PFA TEAM OF THE SEASON

David De Gea (Manchester United)

Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)

Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur)

David Luiz (Chelsea)

Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

N'golo Kante (Chelsea)

Dele Alli (Totenham)

Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Hannover Striker Bazee Suffering From Hoffa Syndrome, Unlikely To Make Nigeria Debut

Noah Bazee is unlikely to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles in their African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June.

Sportbuzzer has reported that Bazee is not suffering from an initially suspected mucus inflammation in the knee, but Hoffa-Kastert syndrome, and an operation has not been ruled out in the coming weeks.

Hannover coach Andre Breitenreiter confirmed as much at the press conference ahead of Saturday's game versus Erzgebirge Aue, stating that the young striker has been placed on the long-term injury list.

The news will come as a big blow to Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr as he has not hidden the fact that he plans to monitor him at close quarters during the national team's get-together in Corsica, before a potential competitive debut against Bafana Bafana.

Bazee, 20, has been inactive for Hannover since March 18 when he lasted 23 minutes on the pitch against FC St. Pauli.
He resumed training just before the Easter holidays but had to reduce the workouts with the team in the past few days.

BREAKING NEWS: SUPER SOPRTS STOPS LIVE BROADCAST OF NPFL MATCHES

Cable sports channel SuperSport has pulled out of the
deal with organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) due to alleged breach of contract.
SuperSport for years has been the official broadcast sponsor
of the NPFL which is organised by the League Management
Company (LMC).
According to SuperSport, the termination was as a result of a
breach of contract on the part of the LMC.
Caroline Oghuma, the Public Relations officer of DSTV
could not reveal how the LMC breached the contract of their
deal.
“It was terminated due to a breach of contract, that’s the
official position of the company on this matter,” Oghuma
told Pulse Sports.
The General Manager of SuperSport West Africa Felix
Awogu also told Pulse Sport that the company have spent
an average of N6b annually for the last nine years for both
broadcast right and production.
All efforts to know how the LMC breached the contract was
not successful as SuperSport insist that it is on the LMC part
to reveal that information.
Chairman of the LMC, Shehu Dikko could not be reached
for further information.
The development comes weeks after Supersport took a
similar decision in Kenya – terminating a ten-year
relation with the Kenyan Premier League.
Currently, they only show live matches of the Zambian
Super League and the South Africa’s Premier Soccer
League.
In 2016, the company, who claimed to be downsizing
its operations in Africa for business reasons, ended
their union with the Ghanaian Premier League, which
another pay television company Star Times have since
taken over.
Supersport, who used to hold the TV right of the
Nigeria Basketball League, has lost it to Kwese Sports.
There are also dwindling subscription numbers and
stiff competition from new entrants like Star Times,
Kwese Sports among others.
In August 2013, the LMC secured a four year broadcast
deal with Supersport worth $34 million. The contract
was to run for four years, between 2015 and 2019.
Following the take-over of the basketball league, Kwese
Sports is likely to be the next broadcast right owner of
the NPFL.
.
www.pulse.ng/sports/football/supersport-stops-broadcast-of-live-npfl-games-id6556453.html

The economic recession have really affected Nigeria in all sectors of the economy.
Supersports withdrew their sponsorship of the league owing to the economic downturn and the dollar-naira exchange rate gyrating up and down like a yoyo.

From what I gathered, the Cbn delisted super sports from the category of business ventures whom they sell dollars to at the official rate. Meaning that Supersports will have to access forex via the bureau de change round trippers.
Being a foreign coy, obviously their expenses are in dollars while their income is in naira.
When they signed the contract with LMC,they accessed forex at the office rate of N160. The alternative was to raise their subscription charges but they are bound by law not to raise their subscription rate.

I don't think the NPFL will be on the screens anytime soon. Even the touted Kwese sports is a foreing owned organisation. They will still fight the same demons Super sports fought and in this case, they could be operating at a loss. The business climate in Nigeria is not conducive at all.

No one is saying training is not important, but when you combine playing and training together it gives you quicker and better results. I don't think you know what playing time can do to a player, it gives you that moral booster to want to learn more. Let me give you a typical example, in school after the day's teaching you are given homework to test your understanding of the topic. So please get it, no one, I repeat no one is against him learning. Iheanacho should be treated fairly, because he has never disappointed when call upon.

I gave you Dos Santos to show the whole leaving talk is not a guarantee. It is as simple as that. There is more to the mechanics of success. Just as Mbappe and co. are learning and playing, others like Moratta were on the bench and still produced quality when they got a run.

It is easy to say Pogba did well when he played but keep neglecting the fact that he was learning without regular time at the top level of Manchester United.

The fact remains and is undeniable, a player can improve without playing time. That is why some players get a chance from the bench, he shows wonders on the field.

This is a fact.

thanks bro....
I don't tire to talk about this matter..
he could not even make reference to KVB of man city

KVB highlights the point I am making. Even though he was not regular at Chelsea, it did not mean he was not developing. Kevin went to Germany and was the best player. The bench at Chelsea did not mean he could not meet his potential or it stunted it's growth.

you make me laugh...so it was Chelsea's bench that developed him?

if he had not go get game time elsewhere... you think Chelsea's drills would have make him a better player?

I stumbled upon this highlight of the match between 3SC and Ifeanyi Ubah on fb, please kindly view it, it involves the two incidents that led to the two penalties given to FCIU. 3SC officials and coach made a meal of those calls as if they were manufactured whereas school boy errors by their defence led to the penalties.

before we castigate these NPFL referees we should think twice. this is y we need live coverage for our league matches, with this video one can deduce Wetherby the ref was ryt or not, not just dwelling on biased reports.

NFF OFFICIAL: ENYEAMA FREE TO REPRESENT NIGERIA AGAIN

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) have insisted that they do not have any issues with Vincent Enyeama, who quit international football in 2015.

This was after a row between back then Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh and Enyeama, the 34-year-old former Super Eagles captain and goalkeeper.

The current Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr recently stated that he would like to have the experienced goalkeeper back in the national team, but he added that Enyeama still has issues with the NFF.

However, the NFF's spokesman Ademola Olajire has since explained that the OSC Lille shot-stopper should feel free to join the Nigerian camp if called up by German tactician Rohr.

"NFF has never had any problem with Enyeama and I don’t understand why he made such statement and that the NFF is the only reason he can’t return to the Eagles," Ojaire said on Own Goal Nigeria.

"The only issue I can recall that lead to his retirement from the team, was when he had problems with former coach Sunday Oliseh.
"Enyeama or any player that Rohr needs to make the Eagles fly is welcomed to the team".

There is no way Moses could have made the PFA team of the year despite his outstanding performance-considering the 4-4-2 formation been used in the selection of the best(main reason he was shut out) and not forgetting that he is a WB unlike Kyle and Danny who are natural full backs...

Nwakali Has No Plans To Extend MVV Stay, Wants Arsenal To Process Work Permit

Flying Eagles skipper Kelechi Nwakali is not expected to extend his loan spell at Dutch club MVV Maastricht, according to his adviser and brother Allwell Nwakali.

The attacking midfielder was shipped out on loan shortly after arriving the Emirates Stadium outfit last summer after failing to get a UK work permit, and Nwakali Senior has urged the Gunners to process the document, adding that he's good enough to play for their first team.

''I don't think Kelechi will remain at Maastricht, I will have a meeting with his intermediary soon to know the way forward,'' said Allwell Nwakali to allnigeriasoccer.com .

''For now, it doesn't appear he is remaining with Maastricht. As soon as the league finishes his contract with them has ended. We will now look at other options though nothing has been discussed with Arsenal yet.

''The best thing for Arsenal to do is to get him a work permit, so that even though they are taking him on loan he has the permit. But he has the qualities to play for Arsenal in midfield. ''

Kelechi Nwakali has totaled 28 appearances (2 goals) in all competitions for MVV ahead of their fixture on Friday night against Jong PSV.

All this English, supporting "made in naija broadcast station" is the best for our league[b]
