Quick one please:

Please does uni-assist send Preliminary review documentation to respective universities, or they will send to the applicant after which the applicant will send to the universities, also is this Cert. hard or soft copy.

Also, if the Preliminary review documentation is received from Uni-assist after the application as already been sent to the university, can a soft copy be emailed to the school or its a must it as to be sent through postal again..

Thank you.

Uni-assist handles the entire process and will send to you as well as the school what each party needs to get.

Please don't send your original certificate to anyone, you only need to send Uni-assist authenticated/certified copies of your certificates. Uni-assist then sends theae documents electronically to the school(s) you apply to.

I hope this helps!

Hello everyone,
I just applied to TUM, Tubingen, UMG, Potsdam and Friedrich Schiller.
Anyone applied to similar schools above. Let's relate?
When are we likely to hear responses for the winter programs

I hope you know Tübingen will start charging tuition from 2017/2018 Winter Semester except the legislation falls through.

Good Aftun to you all,
please guys I need help about funding my block account, I just got admission Stuttgart university,

On the German embassy website I saw two options,
1. opening a block account through Dutch bank
2. Using online platform called fintiba
Details are here...

The fintiba solution was developed for foreign students so as to reduce the bottle neck of opening account through the Dutch bank, faster and easier as stated.

So please is there any body that have used the fintiba solution ?
I mean someone that have first hand experience with it. ?
Thanks.

Stuttgart is in the State of Baden-Württemberg, I hope you know they will start charging tuition from 2017/2018 Winter Semester except the legislation falls through.

Hi house,

In order to get my documents certified at the German embassy, do I have to book appointment or I just walk to the place once I am ready? Please advise

Book appointment as hadassaeke as rightly said, if you wanna certify it at Lagos embassy, click below link;

https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_categoryList.do?locationCode=lago&realmId=695

And look for this. "Services for university applicants, language
course participants as well as students who
are already admitted to a German
university" then click continue below it.

Hello please I'll need to get enlightened about this "certification of documents". From what I've read on the thread, ones academic docs could either get certified at German embassy or a notary public although I stand to be corrected. Then on the long run (ie. after having gained admission), will certification of docs at the German embassy have any positive impact on one's visa application other than those who didn't certify @ the embassy. I might sound like a JJC but we all know that getting well-informed is the currency of success these days.

Good morning NLders please am seriously thinking of relocating to Germany this year, and I don't intend going there to study cos right now there is no fund to accomplish that dream for now, I have an inlaw there that is married to a German citizen and is willing to send my invitation letter and I want to start the processing soon.
My major challenge is the language barrier and getting a job there as well. As just tired of everything here in naija since I lost my job last year and I have to cater for my wife and 2 kids.
Please I need kind hearted people who knows how things work there to enlighten me please.

As hadassaheke rightly said. It won't. I believe certification mainly is to ascertain the documents you presented for admission purpose is not FAKE.

Glad to be here!

Just took the first step in securing a place to study in Germany. Would like to do a Masters in Media and Communication Science at Ilmenau University of Technology, Ilmenau. [ What do you think about the school and location?].

But the school requires some proof of English proficiency in form of TOEFL...[Please see screenshot below]. Is it compulsory that I do any of these exams since English is the official language of Nigeria.

P.S: I'm a fresh graduate, yet to get my certificate and transcript but I really want to move sooner than later.

Please advice.

Best bet;
1. Write English language test and get the required score
OR
2. Mail the school and explain to them that language of instruction during your undergraduate was English, If they accept that, hence you will need to go to your school and get a letter in your school that backed it up that your language of instruction is English.

Why not make do with the second option first and try it out. My own advice though.

Thanks.

Will start off from the latter option.

Do you think my current state of not getting my certificate/transcript could affect anything?

Certificate mite av no effect has some University accept Provision Certificate - Statement of Result. And some institution will even ask U to turn it in later.

But Transcript will surely av an effect. Because without Ur transcript dey won't b able to evaluate Ur 1st degree n also get to know if U meet Up wit d requirement in terms of Course title n Unit(s). Transcript is a Must.

Good day,
Please I have some exigent questions
1. Is there anyone currently pushing admission into TUClausthal's Petroleum engineering MSc program commencing W2017??
2. Also, is anyone privy to d particularised specifics and parameters of evaluation of a candidate's suitability to the aforementioned program?? ...if, hypothetically, all appendage stipulated requirements (eg CGPA et al) are met
3. How competitive is the admission process for the aforementioned program? ...What is my stochastic chance of obtaining admission with my 84%(4.2) CGPA in Mechanical engineering (BEng) and my oil and gas services work experience portfolio?
4. How many students get admitted into the program yearly ?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

Truth be told, Germany is the best option for individuals who are not that financially buoyant, but can still afford to fund the blocked account. I was once in this " schooling in Germany race" ;had admissions in almost all the schools I applied to. However, the sudden fall in naira( many thanks to the LORD for its gradual recovery) made me to think otherwise; because initially I had a budget of about 2.2M before this drastic fall of naira.Again, payment through FormA at that period(2015-2016 Winter admission) was not as available as it used to be and it was taking a longer time than necessary, so , people were funding their accounts through the "black" or the "blue" market which made the overall expenses more on the high side. Considering all these challenges, I sought for information and discovered that I could still school in the US and spend less than the amount obtainable in Germany if I could write standardized tests ( GRE and TOEFL) and get a Graduate Assistantship which often comes with full tuition waiver [which makes it equivalent to the German deal( tuition free in this aspect)] and a monthly stipend[ a better deal because you will be working in the school and achieve two things( money and experience)]. Getting this information, I swang into action, wrote the GRE and TOEFL, sent my transcripts for credential evaluation (used WES) and got a Graduate Assistantship. With this GA offer, one does not need to spend up to 1.5M again including your flights expenses.

The reason I am writing this here is to let some aspiring students(Postgraduate) who never knew that it is possible to study in the US without paying the real huge amount of money involved. This is possible in as much as these good factors are there: GPA, GRE, language score( usually TOEFL, IELTS),statement of purpose, recommendations. Any individual that has those things up there but do not have the financial wherewithal to fund the blocked account can consider the US.

As regards visa denial at the US embassy, most often than not, it boils down to not being able to show that one is indeed a true prospective student traveling to the US and inconsistencies in the form filled online and the answers provided during the interview.German embassy also normally denies students who are not articulate about their reasons for going to Germany, which is not a bad thing, if I were asked.
Hey! With about 1.5m plus work experience and study plus 3yrs guarantee stay after graduation sure does make study in the US not just cheaper but also better destination #GratitudeForThisDisclosure
