[b]I contacted Hotdealz to make enquiries about a mini laptop [Dell Latitude 2120], after all discussions and negotiations, I sent the sum of 35k to him on friday night with the agreement that he would send the laptop down to Owerri yesterday and I would pay the delivery charge.


I finally took delivery of the laptop this evening, hotdealz gave me a really hot deal [no pun intended], in fact this is hell!

He called me this morning and told me that he wanted to use God is good motors, but they refused to accept waybill and said he should rather use their courier and logistics service which is 2800 which is a bit on the high side for me owing to the fact that I had budgeted 2000 max for the delivery... I told him to look for alternatives, I even suggested companies like YSG and Libra, but he said he can't find any of them!

Some mins later, he called me that he had given it to a driver working for Edegbe motors, unknown to me the said driver gave it to another driver of a relatively unknown company, [Tazaha company using a sienna instead of standard hummer buses, ain't necessary tho]..

The long and short of this story is that this laptop arrived Owerri with a serious crack on the screen with patches of ink everywhere... I almost excused it as a handling error from the drivers when I saw that super glue was previously used to join the plastic covering the screen, obviously something was not right with the laptop all the way from Lagos.. I told him about it and he said it came from London that way, I told him that I've never seen or bought a London used with a super glue used on it, it's rather too crude for them over there..

I mean which londoner would start using super glue to fix his/her laptop when they always fix their electronics at service centers with top notch engineers... [There's a reason we all go for London used instead of Nigerian used]

He said the fault ain't his, it's obviously mine for choosing a cheaper alternative, how gracious of him...


I asked to quit the blame game and let's think out a solution, I told him I would return it to lag, he said I shouldn't..

I told him to suggest a solution and he said I should go and change the screen myself , I asked him why, he said cos it's my fault and not his...


Anyway sha, I promised to give him a review when I open the laptop and that's what I'm doing..

Hotdealz isn't your everyday charismatic person, he wasn't even sympathetic about the whole thing, he only concentrated on how to absolve himself off any blame or whatever...


I'm still trying to figure exactly how this is my fault tho...


So that's how my deal with him went... This is supposed to be a gift I wanted to give to someone first thing on Monday morning as a surprise but guess who disappointed me?

Hmm... Well, you almost said the truth but with some adjustment here and there. For the benefit of other readers.

Now, before I left to send the laptop, i already told you that i will use "God is good motors" because, i have used them several times and they have never disappointed me.

I got to God is good park around 5a.m, met the driver but he told me to use their logistics service as its against their policy for him to take waybill. the logistics agreed to take #2800 for the weybill. With this fee, the package will be registered and insured. I called @whizpeter and told him. At first, he agreed and was about to transfer the money to me but he called back later with a complain that he couldn't make the transfer saying i should look for a cheaper alternative for like #2000 but i insisted on the god is good logistics which he still refused by saying his maximum budget is #2000. i complained to him that most of the buses i'm seeing in this park don't even have company names written on their body that I dont have confidence in them that we should do this the next day cos for me to get to another park, it would already be too late as buses going to owerri always leave very early. @whizpeter said he wants me to send it using any of the "cheaper" alternative as long as they have park in owerri.

After approaching different drivers at that park, they all don't agree to do "Credit weybill" except for the driver at edegbe motors, which i finanally used. the problem is; most of these drivers tell lies by saying they have park in the package destination state. I called @whizpeter to speak with the driver to confirm that he knew the park the driver was lying talking about in owerri before i gave it to the driver. what most of these buses do is that, when they get to their actual destination, they give the package to another bus driver going to the package final destination (this is why the Tazaha company did the final delivery). So much for cheaper alternative.

I sent a clean laptop in perfect condition to you. to Confirm this fact, i even installed all the softwares you asked me to install before sending it. if you can get it to display in anyway, you will see all the softwares inside it. how does one install softwares if screen was broken? The screen actually got broken due to mishandling by those cheaper alternative buses and they don't give any form of insurance.

For the glue you talked about, it might interest you to know that those laptops came with gums and stickers pasted all over them. i have to remove the stickers and cleaned as much as i can. The laptops where auctioned out by a school in USA (RANDOLPH SCHOOL) not London as you said. you can check at the back of the laptop, you will see one of the schools sticker there. Google the school and see for yourself. its in USA not london.

You refused to add #800 to your 2k for the waybill to be registered and insured where the logistics company pays incase of damages and you also refused for me to send it the next day so i can go straight to another park where i can get buses like "the Young shall grow" motors.
I used my own money to transport myself to the first park but you still wanted me to be moving from park to park all because you dont want to pay additional #800 for a standard logistics service. for me to leave that park to another park, i will spend more than that #800. but, you don't really care because, you believed you will rush down here to kill my business. which was why you sent me the below message on whatsapp

"Your laptop is coming back to you tomorrow... waybill charge is on you... Lets see how far you can go to make your customers satisfied... Take it as a litmus test!"

Also I know when to replace a laptop for a customer as my sales is not final at the point of sales. As long as you complained early and issue is not your fault. See screenshot below.
