Not opinion, not fantasy, not hateful tribalistic comments. Give me hard, and factual proof with sources , as to how exactly any country split from Nigeria will be better than Nigeria. Its a very simple question. I want answers. Let's recap, 1. Nigeria has Africa's Largest GDP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African_countries_by_GDP_(nominal) 2. Nigeria has the largest amount of internet users: http://answersafrica.com/africa-internet-usage-statistics.html 3. Nigeria has the second largest film industry in the world: http://fortune.com/2015/06/24/nollywood-movie-industry/ 4. Nigeria has the largest music industry in africa (I don't even need to cite this. http://www.africanbusinesscentral.com/2016/10/24/the-boom-in-africas-music-industry-continues/) 5. Nigerians own 2 of the top 3 spot of richest men in Africa (everyone else in top 5 is white): https://www.forbes.com/africa-billionaires/list/#tab:overall So again, i'm open to discussion. Give me hard, and factual proof with sources, how a spilt country would be better than Nigeria. Its a very simple question. Answer the question below Don't derail, or change the subject, just answer the question. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Let's say the south as a whole secedes, a lot of your points would remain the same. Anyways, you show no proof that it's better together. 36 Likes 1 Share |

MrMaestro: And it will remain so if the south secedes and becomes one country. Who cares about GDP? It's GDP per capita. Who cares about 2 billionaires? Split and we have one anyways and the source of the other one's wealth becomes strained. Nollywood and the music is based in the south. Who internet users epp? Im sure most of the users are in the south anyways. We need to diversify our economy and have states control their resources if we want to be better as one Nigeria. 52 Likes 2 Shares |

jumobi1: So no proof. I agree that there needs to be true federalism though, and restructuring should happen along with diversification. But secession is the topic at had here, and thats a very different thing. 1 Like |

MrMaestro: What benefit is it in having "largest GDP" on paper yet the people aren't feeling it? Maybe you forgot that Nigeria is least educated as one of the nation where the citizen makes less than a $1 a day. Ironically to survive in the country comfortable, less than a dollar is sh1t yet you are here proudly displaying a title that does nothing for the people as proof while Nigeria should stick together Seriously? Seriously? You have to be joking? How is Internet usage benefit the people? This two has absolutely NOTHING to do with Nigeria. It's anot individualism act. Infact, the southern Nigeria is whom made this two industry relevant therefore when Nigeria divides, it will not change the status quo of both industry. Which came out by destroying other regions. While the indigienous suffer, the two in question rejoices of the wealth of another person's land. Are you arguing for Nigeria to stick together or against? If this is your reason why it should stick together then it is obvious, you truly don't know what makes a nation great. 39 Likes 4 Shares |

Ikechu10:I'm guessing of the secession groups, you're promoting IPOB. So my question to you is, what proof do you have, that says Nigeria is BETTER split, than as Nigeria now. What would Biafra or any other split country from nigeria do, to make them greater than Nigeria. It's a simple question. Answer it. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: To All Secessionists: Give Me PROOF That A Broken Nigeria Is Better by Blue3k(m): 1:38am On Apr 23, 2017 |
MrMaestro: Lets start with basics. If seccession were to occur the New nation would have more autonomy and more wealth percapita. Lower population and more economic freedom if they choose to. They join ecowas trade freely. Let's assume all the SE states go. They have oil and a bit of manufacturing potential. They have educated population. They can burn gas and for electricity invite multinational for investment. Free float currency and become second world country like Botswana and evolve from there. 1. Large GDP but low GDP percapita. Usually during any split you going to start off smaller. That's not a big deal. It's the growth later through better policies that matter. Use the other countries like Singapore for example. 2. Not sure how this matters. The same Internet companies can still do business. The Internet speeds and prices is trash in Nigeria anyway. 3. Most of film industry is bases in south and will still have access to actors, products and market. Like Internet no big deal. Actors get work visa if they need to. 4. Refer to point 3 5. Plenty of billionaire still exist in South and business will go on. They won't be barred from investment. How does this hurt anyone. Ps: Not a secessionist but the points you brought up were weak. 41 Likes 1 Share |

melodyogonna:That's an answer, but not to my question. So i'll take that as you can't prove that Biafra or any other secession you promote would be any better off than Nigeria |
Re: To All Secessionists: Give Me PROOF That A Broken Nigeria Is Better by MrMaestro: 2:07am On Apr 23, 2017 |
Blue3k: Firstly, since you stated you're not a secessionist, i'm not really talking to you, i'm more so talking to others. But i'll address your points. There is no guarantee that there will be a greater autonomy on the local level. Maybe on the state level yes, but you're on the assumption that it will automatically trickle down to all those that wanted secession, when that isn't guaranteed, I look at South sudan as a great example, they too have a greater wealth per capita than the previous sudan. Nigeria has a better income per capita in terms of natural resources than many countries that are better off than us, so what exactly would make Biafra different than how South Sudan ended up in comparison to previously sudan, or how Nigeria is doing in comparison to other countries that aren't blessed with better resources. A lot of what you mention in terms of manufacturing, etc, , are all things Nigeria can also do but isn't (on a massive scale at least). Are all things Zimbabwe can do but isn't, are all things that south sudan can do but isn't. So again, what exactly would Biafra (as an example) do to be more successful at doing the things Nigeria isn't doing. |

MrMaestro: It's not a matter of 'will be', it is already happening. The IGR of Ogun State alone is not achieved by any Northern or Eastern State. The FDI that Ogun State alone attracts is 3x more than that attracted by the SE. The Industrialization of Ogun State is at a rate unrivalled in the entire country. I deliberately left out Eko as it would draw the useless cries of 'Lagos is no-man's land'. 4 Likes |

MrMaestro: If you are not blind to truth, you will realize that comparing South Sudan with Biafra is idiotic. 1) Biafrans are the most literate people in your nigeria (Their higher cut off marks, together with statistical facts from JAMB, WAEC prove it). South Sudan on the other hand are not, a factor that contributed to their presrnt status quo. 2) If you are not attempting to run away from facts, you will also ask yourself why a Biafra cut off from the rest of the world was able to refine their own oil and build their own weapons (a feat that still remains rocket science to your overbloated nigeria 50 years after). Now embrace the truth and tell us how such a republic will fail if given the breathing space that it's people clamour for? Nigeria is stifling growth of every progressive region including yorubas but they feel a progressive Biafra will dent their ego and prefer to oppose it even it means cutting their noses to spite their faces. 3) Nigeria is not a country to proud of, it is a dungeon that enthrone injustice and sees nothing wrong in shedding blood of the innocent, there is nothing great about it. Even when people die, nobody is shocked, everybody is desensitized to the sanctity of life. The corpse is just 'part of statistics'. Even your 'heroic' president prefers to sympathize with the British queen when her dog dies than when 50 nigerians are killed. Why should such an evil contraption be allowed to subsist? 4). When everybody goes home to their respective country, they'll take the lessons they've learnt from dead cesspit and start afresh stronger. I don't believe any country that emerges from nigeria will want to institute nonsense 'nigerianistic' laws that encourages anomalies like 'Jumbo pay', 'personalization of contracts', 'corruption', 'environmental degradation', etc Dissolution of nigeria is an opportunity to start afresh ON A CLEAN SLATE and a chance to prove that African countries founded by Africans themselves can work. 40 Likes 5 Shares |

MrMaestro:No region can develop in Nigeria of today with a centralized government controlled by a greedy few and heavily dependent on oil. When Oduduwa republic is formed, we will have no choice but to look inwards. We might not be so rich at beginning but we'll solve the problem of bad roads, electricity, education etc like our peaceful neighbors (Benin republic). 13 Likes |

Doghari: What do you think is the problem in Nigeria today? How do you hope to resolve it when you get your Biafra? What steps have been taken to eliminate the problems before getting Biafra? These are questions that South Sudan failed to answer and landed them where they are today. 1 Like |

stonemasonn:So your problem is with a centralied govt that is greedy, but instead of focusing on voting in a new government with people you trust, you would rather leave the country possibly inciting a civil war? And you think this resolve will produce a successful Oduduwa republic? 1 Like |

Doghari: This is false. Ammunition and arms were provided by the France, as they sought to overtake the British's oil interest, and apartheid south africa also supported with biafra weapons probably to cripple the Nigerian force of african people that would end up being powerful enough to finance the end of apartheid in south africa.
Disagree 4). When everybody goes home to the respective country, they'll take the lessons they've learnt from dead cesspit and start afresh stronger. I don't any country that emerges from nigeria will want to institute nonsense 'nigerianistic' laws that encourages anomalies like 'Jumbo pay', 'personalization of contracts', 'corruption', 'environmental degradation', etc Again, I asked for proof, not opinion. Unless you can give me a crystal ball where everyone learns their lesson, its a fantasy. No one seems to want to fix nigeria's corruption problem on the ground level. If you think people will suddenly wake up and stop being corrupt after disintegration, as if they're under some sort of trance to steal, you are not in touch with reality. Every single evidence in history, from the inception of this country, to the history of africa thus far, has proven the opposite. Corruption will always be a problem we need to work through. It is laughable to think that changing the name of a land mass will eradicate corruption and bad leadership. [/quote] 2 Likes 2 Shares |
