Michael McElhatton(Game of Thrones) has confessed that he has a role in Justice League. He describes the scenes he appears as thus:

“I found that the scene I did, which is a big opening scene, was pretty dark in its tone. But in a good way. It wasn’t comic booky, but I think you can thread a certain amount of humor through it, which maybe the previous one was lacking,"

A scene featuring the 'go0dbye my s0n' theme in man of steel playing wh!le w0nder w0man is down, the flash is w0unded, aquaman is exhausted, cyborg damaged and steppenwolf is h0lding batman by the neck. Wolf does s0me m0n0logue abt hope and despair while the music keeps playing, then fr0m n0where heatvisi0n starts frying up the paradem0ns and gunshots are heard. Then z0om in to Superman and a multitude of soldiers fr0m u.s, china, russia etc. [BTS, Clark was able to c0nvince the world leaders to stand up and fight and they do]. Supes goes on to tell wolf a thing abt hope with wolf skeptical of how that scene even came up, matching the awe cinema audience would be feeling that m0ment. Then cut in to zack snyder's epic slow m0ti0n stuff with supes walking majestically and the world soldiers readying their weap0ns. he won't. iif he does then the other leaguers don't have time to shine. he'll show up at the end of the middle phase or 30 minutes to the end. his death won't make sense if he shows up at the beginning.

Bats is n0t all grumpy and it was said early on that supes was meant to bring hope and bruce's lost humanity back when bvs was still in producti0n. How best to reference that? By making Bruce l0ose his br0od for once at a time when hope seems lost. I bet u must be angry the writers made Wayne disclose his batman identity to the other members before trusting 'em. The batman i kn0w doesn't do that but then, thats what they call character development. They could have Wayne and Clark banter at the end by making supes make jest of his inspirati0nal speech and new found sentiment during the fight and bruce would go, "i only said what u needed to hear. Exactly that's more of the bats I know.... Either that or he beats some sense into you... Like he did with green arrow once, and to flash... Bats can't be allowed to get all emotional and mushy it defeats his personality... He might as well start wearing blue or white....
Theres a reason he's call a dark Knight... He has to fight to protect without necessarily needing your praises if possible get your abuses.... Maybe on another earth maybe bats would do the whole we can do this guys.... He's more likely to say you need to stand and fight to save the world....... Or else all its lost because it's your duty

Am n0t against bats being badass or all that and i aint saying he should be like a preacher bt in a dire time when he sees no other way, he should be able to find an0ther alternative; be h0peful and keep fighting the fight. Everything isn't always going to be to his advantage, if it is, then the character is a mary sue. The jl team is supposed to have an effect on him, and being hopeful is that.
