EmeeNaka: I concur. Never seen that sort of 'jacuzzi' before. We use odu na ikwe akwu...long pestle and mortar which is carved and buried in the ground, after which it is scooped and transferred to the oil extractor machine. 4 Likes 1 Share |

thesicilian: 70% of the oil in market today is made from this process, its only a minority presently using mechanised more hygienic processes. Leave Lagos and go to the villages to see for yourself. |

londoner:there is no where in igboland where they don't have grinding machines. Pestles and mortar are used in cases where the palm fruits are not large enough to be taken to oil mills. No part of Igboland have at any point practiced what I see in dat pix..... 3 Likes 1 Share |

This is not true. I once helped my mum at the palm oil factory in my home town Anambra. We have two well known methods of processing oil. >1 is by engine. >2 is by mortar and pestle( is now obsolette) this picture must be outdated 1960s. 3 Likes 1 Share |

from where i come from, palm oil is never done this way, before the availability of machines, they use to cook it,pound it and then put inside a sack and squee it. but now they only cook while the machine do the rest. i don't know abt other tribe but matching it won't pill the back easily.. |
Re: See How Palm Oil Is Produced (Photos) by menwongo(m): 10:33pm On Apr 23, 2017 |
Come to my mill and see how palm oil is produce. I think they are doing something else. No one can match palm nut like that: Palm fruit must be hot before pounding it so that oil will come out in large quantities. If any of the heated fruit touches your skin it hurts. So I doubt this palm oil production in action 3 Likes |

venai:i can see you are not just an Afonja but one with an acute, chronic case of identity crisis, Mr man you are not Igbo and can never be not in this life not in the next better wake up to that reality, I don't know why you deny being Afonja maybe they have rejected you too, but sorry Igbo's don't take rejects nor bad blood we take only pure Igbo bloodline we keep our race clean, I guess you are one of those Igbo's Afonjas refer to as nwa peak milk, nwa sardine sorry I know it hurts to be a reject, well you can help yourself by locating one of the idp camps and start afresh and call your generation flatonja as you proudly do here, as for being Igbo you are not it and will never be. Stupid Afonja be proud of you kind... dem swear for you.
