A man reportedly took his brother's wife to the hospital and the Dr sought and obtained his consent to amputate the child's hand and removed the baby since according to the Dr the baby had since died in the womb. On the medical advice that, that way the mother's life could be saved, the baby's hand was amputated and the baby was removed but only to realised that the baby was not only alive but heart and healthy.

Even if the baby is dead, must it be dismembered before it is evacuated? Or is it medical quacks at work? Definitely that baby will take revenge on the said Doctor when he's grown.

Wowzer! Well you need to sue the heck outta the hospital! Sue them for every naira they've got! Make sure you could afford a life supply of artificial limp, the best education and the best care for him by the time this is over. The doctors are grossly incompetent!

Just recently, a senator asked who would you accept to perform surgery on you? A merit surgeon or a quota system surgeon.

This isnt funny. I didn't intend for my comment to be funny. I mean, how would that baby feel some years from today, when he's told that he lost an arm because an incompetent doctor happened to be on duty when his mother went into labor.

This is most likely the handiwork of a quota system surgeon. I stand to be corrected though.

I think We need to hear from all parties involved even though they are all guilty of erratic decisions and mostly incompetency on the side of the doctor.

The man who thought he had the right to decide for his brother was wrong to have given the doctor the go ahead.

The doctor on the other hand is a disgrace to medical practice. He couldn't use what ever method thought him in science to discern if the baby was alive before amputation. He just went ahead and dismembered the baby's hand from his body. His licence needs to be revoked.

Do they know how their rash actions could affect the baby's future? Affect his mind? His self esteem?


To the baby, u have to grow up with a strong mind. Cos this disability will never ever bring to u an inability.

Doc may have had his reasons that is if he was correct about the baby being dead..which he was obviously not..


Am not sure he had all the right tools and equipment to certify that the baby was indeed dead...
