Was actually referring to people that went to bid at 1.06 after reading posts on this thread, especially the one you made about Transcorp hitting 2.14 soon. And yea judging by the FY 2016, Transcorp aptly fits into the junk status grin

I am not the one who made the 2.14 post but i assure you it will touch that but not on a steady rise.Do you know the people behind Transcorp?

Secondly dont be surprise to see 200% increase in Transcorp Q1 result.I dont have a single unit there but i am saying the reality.

I'm really wanted to buy more but exchange rate @#400 per USD is not encouraging at all.

You are a Dedicated Grave Robber.... grin

You bought this stock around N0.80K and you are still holding and looking towards putting Emefiele in a tight corner in order to buy more..

This one pass blood money.... grin

I'm really curious to know exactly what I missed out on in the hundreds of pages of Transcorps FY 2016.

Answering questions like these will help you identify some of them:-

1. Why didn't a decent increase in top line translate to improved bottom line?

2. Are the reason(s) for the above one-off?

3. Are there positive govt policies I should factor in?

4. Are there major projects coming online or that have come online since the report period?

Etc

interesting insights in to Nigerian Breweries stock on easykobo

Following earlier price hikes recorded in 2016, NB reported yet another price increase in Q1’17 as the brewer continues to protect margins amidst cost pressures. Although volumes have been impacted due to pressured consumer wallets, higher prices continue to offset the weaker volumes as Q1’17 revenue rose 18% y/y to ?91.3 billion - 8% ahead of estimates of analysts.

Whilst gross margin remains weak y/y (down 364bps) reflecting the effect of the weaker naira and inflationary pressure on input costs, we highlight the 255bps q/q margin expansion recorded in Q1’17 to 44%. We attribute the margin improvement to the price increase implemented. With this, Q1’17 gross profit rose 6% q/q and 9% y/y to ?41 billion, beating our ?36 billion estimate.

Earnings in the quarter were further bolstered by lower interest expenses and continued benefits from the brewer’s “Every naira counts” cost savings program which saw OPEX (as a % of sales) moderate 143bps y/y to 24%, above Vetiva’s 27% estimate. Consequently, Q1’17 PAT rose 11% y/y and 45% q/q to ?11.4 billion, outstripping Consensus estimate by 37%.

Bearish outlook for volumes, price to remain to sole support

Asides the effect of higher pricing, we note that increased competition across all categories has been partly responsible for the volume pressure. According to management, market share declined in both Q2’16 and Q4’16.

Whilst we note that NB remains the market leader across most segments, intensified competition from existing players and new entrants (particularly in the value segment) continues to threaten its position. Specifically, NB’s Goldberg has been left to battle AB InBev’s Trophy in the West, whilst Life beer contends with AB InBev’s Hero in the East.

We believe NB would have to remain nimble, both in innovation and pricing, to protect its market share in the next few years even as the world leading brewer, AB InBev (through International Breweries) spreads its tentacles across Nigeria.

That said, we expect revenue growth to remain majorly supported by higher pricing and we revise our y/y revenue growth estimate higher to 10% (Previous: 8%). Whilst we remain cautious on the exchange rate environment and maintain our assumption of more FX losses this year, we are more optimistic about the cost containment strategy and revise our OPEX to Sales ratio slightly lower to 26% (Previous: 27%).

Consequently, our FY’17 EPS estimate is revised higher to ?4.48 (Previous: N3.98). Analysts at Vetiva Capital Management Ltd in Victoria Island have reviewed their 12-month Target Price for NB slightly higher to N113.99 (Previous:N111.57).

Put a crown on its head for a day, dress it in fine robes for a minute, a chicken will always remain a chicken. Transcorp, Diamond and Oando are junk. Their books say so not me. Just because a few people come around and bid them up for a week so they can later dump on some ignorant pigs doesn't change their status as junk.

Why are you refering to 2016 result again?
Q1 results of a new financial year is a starting point for investors to have a knowledge of how the year will be for companies. Most stocks that did not do well last year may use this Q1 results to prove they are back to profitability.
pls grow up.

I bought today.
Strictly on TA.... grin
But as you know, only Mr. Market can be right.
Compare this EPS of 15k ( which is just a kobo more than the Tip Fidelity left on the table ) with any other of its peers, but Mr. Market may still reward it .... grin

DISCL: The volume is all about Q1.

TA would have warned you that you're treading on a loose rope; as people greediness is on the increase (overbought) and reversal likely imminent... Anyway no worries, the chart is still in good shape till it goes below 0.8

@locodemy, I guess DeRuggedProf is a smart investor/trader & knows where it is good for him to exit in case the market is against him...

& come to think of it, if I were in his shoe and entered the stock today even at 1.06; I wouldn't say because of all the analysis going on this forum, then I will exit my trade tomorrow! CAPITAL NO... All what we've been saying are just NOISE! The real determinant will be known in the next 2 days direction. And beside, the weekly data is not bad at all...

NOTE: This post do not directly or indirectly ask people to BUY as a pullback is imminent. I posted the opps for BUY couple of weeks back at 0.70 & that is the exact price I bought before selling 60% of my holdings today...
