The bet on diamond could have gone either way. Those who entered yesterday did so with the expectation of bull ride when the result is finally released like in the case of Fidelity...It was a big gamble! Forget TA and FA....On the flip side, imagine if diamond had released a fantastic result, the opposite would have happened.... This might be the BIGGEST loss in my portfolio this year.....Pure case of Investment gone bad. .....Bad market 3 Likes |

Coolcash1: Thank U for this...Most of the people that saw Diamond as a bad investment should wait for q1 anything can happen throughout 1yr...is it not the same TRANSCORP dat was 0.76k dat was sold at 1.06 few days back? |

locodemy: Stock Market is a gambling market where put your spare fund and watch things unfold. Rather out of greed you decide to use your basic fund. That's why price movement dictates your temperament which is not good for your health. The average cost of all the Fcmb accumulated since 7mth ago should be around #1:20k which now puts you at a loss of over 20% if you are truthful with yourself. Had it been your took my advice and invest in Treasury bills by now your maturity date will be drawing nearer. Well there's still time to run with your losses and switch to money market because like i said earlier this year will be terrible for Stock Market. *ThE OcToPuS* 2 Likes |

Coolcash1:Three simple facts could have kept anyone from buying diamond last week or yesterday. 1. Diamonds q1-3 results which are available with a simple google search. 2. Diamonds dividend history which is abysmal 3. The knowledge that the FY (whose direction you would have already known if you had studied 1) could come out anytime and catch you off guard. |

I am not an estate valuer oooo. But I feel Elephant house at Alausa should have been sold for a higher figure than 3.1b Lafarge sold to Lagos State government. I think shareholders of Lafarge should task the Board on this. |

Pls dont feel for me o rather feel for yourself.my investment @ fcmb is never a gambling but pure investment that will be putting dividends in my pocket every financial year. 1 Like |

Tritri: I think its the foreign investors exiting. They are tired of Emefiele/Buhari and their currency controls. The transaction volumes we are having now is the highest in 3 months and its in periods like this that they come out to sell. That's why people like Loco should stop bidding for it at N1.00/N0.99, allow it fall a little to N0.9, Bid at N0.9 and provide liquidity for them to exit at that price. If to say na only me dey this market, I'll be willing to provide liquidity for the foreign investors for FCMB only at N0.8, hold thereafter and sleep. That'll be tantamount to a bonanza for me after currency floatation when they'll all rush back to enter. 1 Like |

austinkenneth: Devil, get behind me.i know its not this brother that is speaking but you the evil one.Dont you think i know your plight? To you my fellow nairalanders, shine your eyes, fcmb is the only kobo bank stock you can play and be safe for a minimum of two years then we will review it again to know if it is still sustainable.make una shine una eyes o.plenty people here and outside this forum know i have been specific, truitful emphasizing on just a particular stock that is trading below below below its book value(EPS of 0.97 kobo no be moi moi). |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by PETERiCHY(m): 12:50pm On Apr 25, 2017 |
locodemy: Stop deceiving yourself with 2.1m dividend. Tell us the percentage of your loss position or do want to tell us cumulatively you aren't in a lost position with your fcmb ? Well it's same way i warned Dumebi when OANDO was trading still @N18. Don't worry after May sell-off come June you will see what will be left of your Fcmb. Slow and steady wins the race. The doors of Treasury bills is still open with all time high 23% True yield. A word is a enough for the wise. 4 Likes |

locodemy: We are in the same boat bro . Instead from FCMB going from N1.00 to N1.30 straight, I would prefer it comes down to even N0.8 (and I buy) before reversing and going to N1.30. For the very big guys, their biggest disadvantage is size, we should make it count against them and for us. They have been exiting. Look at the past 3 annual reports and see hoe they have been reducing their stakes. Withdraw ur bids and see what will happen. |

DeRuggedProf:I'm not playing that game with you. I'm very consistent irrespective of whichever stock is involved. Of course people made cool money off diamond from 0.82 to 0.95. But the risk was crazy and phenomenal. That result could have dropped anytime. That's apart from the fact that the result was conveniently eased in after the big boys had left the building. |
