First of all there are a few million Somalis who are indegenous to Kenya. Its hard to differentiate them from their cousins from Somalia but their command of swahili can tell. The kenyan ones know better because their region is the most impoverished in kenya, they actually feel sad for themselves when they visit other parts of kenya. Secondly, Somalis don't dominate business in Kenya. You have to be here to know that ! I thought I already told you that before. A common joke is that you know you're in kenya when the car in front of you is driven by a kikuyu, your neighbour is a kikuyu, you pay rent to a kikuyu, the president is a kikuyu, all your life revolves a round a kikuyu somewhere. Gladly that is changing.

I know that Kikuyus dominate business in Kenya, but many Somalis and Indians also have some degree of business control in Kenya and that is my point.

It's a good thing that Kenyan somalis have been placed where they belong.

Algeria is quite liberal.

Algeria, Tunisia and Morroco are some of the most liberal muslim countries in the world. I think this owes largely to their French colonial history of direct rule. They are very educated and do not follow sharia law. Majority of them speak French and English and almost half of their female population do not wear hijab. Infact hijab used to be banned in the past.

You should compare these countries with other liberal muslim countries like Turkey, Indonesia, Albania and Central Asian countries. North African muslims (Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria) are more liberal than core-northern Nigerian muslims.

We did not take them away from their mountains. We only tried to construct roads and paths to link them to the nearest administrative centre and encourage them them to western education.

See, Nigeria is a very big and diverse contry. I am from the north and that is why i am quite conversent on this topic. Many Southernerns here know nothing about this.

My own people are on the mountains too (Plateau) for instance and we started wearing western clothes and attending western schools from around 1930 (in the more open areas) while in the interior areas of my place, western education and clothings reached them around 1960. (You see the reason why many Southernerns are ahead of us).

In the Adamawa/Taraba axis of Nigeria, due to the vastness and difficulty of the terrain, western education and clothing reached many of them not until 1970- 1980. This is why we are still discovering uncivilized people in that axis till date. And note that, it is not as if those uncivilized people do not come down from the mountains and interract with their lower neighbours, they do. Just that, even their neighbours too are very much behind and unexposed.

So, our discovered uncivilized tribes are not lost tribes like those found in Brazillian rain forests. No.
