Their economic status would be comparable to the poorest tribes in kenya. Somalis (in general) are damn poor. Their counties are always trailing back there. But they are making a lot of effort now have a minister and a leader of majority in parliament, which they have achieved by being a$$ lickers of the government.

Somalis are epic exaggerators. Mostly petty traders, money changers. They dont produce much, they are the specialists in bazaar economics. Somalis are divided into 4 countries, remember.

Somalis even discriminate against other muslims by building somali only mosques! I have a Swahili muslim friend who told me once that they give you the eye if you happen to wander into their mosque and you dont look somali. Also most other muslims dont want to be associated with pirate money ,so they keep away. Once when in Uganda, i heard ugandan muslims bitterly complaining about the anti social mannerisms of somalis like petty racial discrimination and chewing of khat.
