There are other factors, to the best of my knowledge, some of them are:

1. The player's influence to the team.
2. How does the team fair with or without him
3. The importance of his goals and assists (There's a difference between winning goals and assists and just any goals, when a game is about ending at 1-1 and a player scores to make it 2-1 for the team to get 3 points, that is an example of a winning goal, different from someone who scored a 4th goal to add to 3-1 in the die-minute)
4. Spurs almost drew yesterday until Erickson dropped deeper, kept pulling strings and eventually gave Spurs 3 points by scoring the winning goal)

5. The chances he creates and opens for the striker and his fellow players, he gives assists to the eventually assister of a goal.

6. Successful dribbles
7. Key passes too.
8. Take ons. One very important attribute of great attackers (Messi, Neymar, Robben, Hazard, Bale, Iniesta, Ribery etc etc)


I have been able to give you 6 aside goals and assists, I am sure there are more.
