Nigeria has more PhD holders than any other countries in the world, still none has invented nothing.

Instead of them to go and learn skills after first degree, Nigerian graduates would rather go to second degree, keep piling certificate as if the more certificate or more school they go the more money they make. Wake up people! Gone are the days people respect you because of the level of your education. What have you got to offer? What do you do for a living? How much you got? How many lives have you changed? These are what people wanna know.

After learning graphics designing, I need to establish but no capital. I get jobs once in a while from nairaland esp logo, but this jobs are not coming as expected. All I wanted to do is establish and employ more able hands to run the biz.
I need heavy project to work on.
Re: 7 Job Myths You Should Never Believe Again by Nobody: 11:31am On Apr 27, 2017
The other route is to take weekend and vacational work in the company (ies) you wish to work for after graduation. They'll get used to your being around and the next thing your know, you are no longer running errands but sitting in someones office.....helping them with petty work.

When your inservice year is approaching, ask them to take you as their trainee. They have almost no reason to refuse.

Thats how i did it. My employer.....my aunt....they too did the same. So if you're lucky.......
I just dont believe on this CV and applicatuon route. No connection and your are out.

From whichever city you are reading from, these 7 job myths should never be in your subconscious. As long as you are Nigerian you must have been wired to believe most of them.

For those who still believe in those fairy tales they told us as kids, now is a good time to take a critical look at the Myths once again and know which to believe.

Graduate with a Good Grade and Get a Good Job

If you didn’t graduate in the 1970’s, you should discard this myth as fast as possible. A good grade doesn’t make you special, it only adds you to the list of those who already possess such grades and they are waiting for “God to pick up their call”

The number of graduates leaving school with first class and second class upper has increased drastically. So why should an employer hire you exactly?? Think about it.

Someone Promised Me a Job after School

That was the same way they all promised us. After we graduated from school, they no longer picked up their calls. Hoping and relaxing because someone promised you a job after school is like sleeping on a Motorbike, you will surely feel the pain when you wake up from your slumber.

Graduate and Get a Masters, Then a Job is Waiting for you

Says who? The number of jobless Master degree holders is quite alarming right now. Having a Masters in Nigeria now is just like having a WASSCE certificate. A Master’s Degree doesn’t guarantee you a menial job talk more of a corporate job in Nigeria.

All I need to do is to apply and wait for an Interview

Have you heard about something called “Follow-up?” After sending out your applications, do well as much as your time allows you to reach out to those firms you submitted your application to.

I Don’t Need any Connection to Land a Job

Partially true, but what if you have one? Don’t call it connection, call it Networking.

Information is power, and you need to be everywhere, every time to know when an opportunity springs up. So staying on your phone and hoping that “God picks your call” is when the patient dog eats the fattest bone at Old age.

I Don’t Need any Special CV or Cover Letter

Biggest mistake!!

The hiring manager doesn’t know you. The only thing that speaks for you is your CV and cover letter. (Learn how to draft one by clicking http://topwritersden.com/how-to-write-a-perfect-cv/ ).

Having a good CV and Cover letter puts you in a position of advantage as long as there is no favored candidate among you all.

When They Hire Me, They Will Train Me

LIE!!!!

Unless you are thinking of working with a super foreign company, right now no one is willing to spend so much training staff on various skills.

Right now, candidates are hired based on the skills they possess. The question you ask yourself right now is what special skill do I have that isn’t common?

If No, then you have to take action and equip yourself with some skills especially in the ICT world; because the world is going towards Information Technology.

Ask a Nigerian and he will explain what I mean to you.

simple.i do ask many graduates job hunting to look around them and see how people survive, if that man without an ssce is able to get something going and feeding himself and family then you should not be an exception. a 3rd class graduate that is already independent is one thousand times better than a depending first class graduate.

I graduated with a second class upper and felt like a failure for months. Then I met a counselor who made me believe I can still achieve anything even without going to school...

So I was loading for that opportunity. Then it came, I got 200k from a brother abroad and started a small business... Today, I can brag with a car and my very own building project.... Gat should be the aim of Nigerians if your parent is not loaded.

I really wanted going for design (corel draw...adobe photoshop) but someone adviced me that it's been taken by a large number of youth already. I will love that networking ...... (does that include DSTV installation cctv camera)

it's quite unfortunate am not in Lagos am based in Abuja sad

DSTV installation is not professional na... cheesy

I am writing about professional networking that will toe you on the path way to become a certifed Cyber Security agent. Working with security agents to tackle cyber crime.

Routing and switching of networks.

Working with top communication firms like MTN and Co. That is the real networking.

Op you know lie at all. It is the Nigeria system that's affecting us. It affect us not to think beyond the great things God has for us. I still believe that we have money in Nigeria. It is the ingrate and selfish people we put in the helms of affairs of Nigeria that's destroying things in Nigeria. You will see a masters graduate of 5 years still feeding in the parents pot. It is the nigeria and our thinking faculty that's affecting us. You will see private universities producing huge first class and second class graduate hoping to secure jobs in nigeria companies but ought to no avail. My people in the house this is how it will be going till etenity until we change our mindset in developing the nation. Presently if you don't conduct series of online fraud you won't hit big. If you don't do yahoo yahoo you won't hit big. This is where our problems come from. Well for me so far I have left school am not interested in searching for any fucking job. It will stop when another generation of thinking leaders in Nigeria. Hardly we think in Nigeria. The so called the richest billionaire bla bla we do point too are bunch of debtors. Talk of dangote et al are bunch of debtors.
