Sir, there's limit to one's constitutional right. You need get that right. And for anyone suspected of grievous charges like corruption in Nigeria has limited rights. To my own understanding, efcc breaking into these thieves house should not be subjected to any form of breaching law.
Hmmm... Speachless.

I'm so disaapointed with this seriously.

EFCC isn't a law court who has the power to withdraw a citizen's fundamental right. A 'suspect' isn't a crimina until a court of competent jurisdiction says he is.

What the hell is wrong with some of you?

it's quite simple actually, which sane person will hide money in a septic tank How do you get to the septic tank and remove the money without breaking it?? The birds have learnt to fly without perching so hunters are learning to shoot without missing..... Let's not kid ourselves, our judiciary is fraught with every kind of corruption, before you even get a warrant, the process can drag on for ages. Again, we are assuming efcc act without warrants. What if they searched with warrants? My opinion is my opinion anyway.... Emancipate yourself, I can't do it for you

He is absobloodlutely right. EFCC should stop breaking into people's homes. They should stop acting burglers.

And you don't think that they are not acting outside their constitutional covering?

They will break into anybody's house and nothing will happen.

When you see comments like this, you just wonder where Nigeria is headed.

I understand that you are angry at how politicians have looted this country dry, which we all angry at, however, it's best to follow due process. Even when the government wants to bypass some aspects of the law, it should be done with utmost care.

Help save the life of Mrs Imoisili by donating the sum of 26700 naira.
One fateful evening, a guy I met for the first time named Ernest came to me telling me I was his mother's saviour "I believe say na u be my mama saviour" and I was like how and he kept repeating the same statement and I got really frightened. I told him to explain how I was his mothers saviour and He went on by saying his mother has been in the hospital for a week and they demanded the sum of 26700 for her treatment. He told me to assist him in any way I could. "I'm just a university student and I could hardly boast of 2000naira on my account but I would assist in any way I could" I said.
I asked him for his phone number and bank account number and he said he had none. At that point, I thought he made the whole story up just to collect money from me. He gave me the hospital's address and the room number and He suggested I should come see him and his mother at the hospital the next day and I agreed without knowing any thing about him. I decided to visit the hospital the next day after so much thoughts and I confirmed he was telling the truth. The only thing I could do was to buy the guy and his mum lunch.
So I decided to write to well meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of Mrs Imoisili by donating the sum of 26700naira for her treatment

If its about work and chop...I'm in support but chop and no work loke we have now is pure evil!
THEY hate Jang because he didn't share money as has been the practice preceeding his administration.

Don't forget he was an Air Commodore in the airforce. ...no be today man.
Not because he did not share money but because his administration was lopsided. That's one of the major reasons

Why can't EFCC follow due process?

If a person is a suspect, get a search warrant and carry out a proper search of the entire property.
Must they break down people's houses in such a manner? Are we in a military era where impunity is the order of the day?

Stop saying what you don't know.
EFCC will never search without a search warrant. They applied minimum force only if restricted or money kept in hidden place.

And you think efcc acts outside its legal provision? Why not find out if the act establishing the anti-graft agency empowers it as such.

Besides, you mean "due process" is a piece of information that should be on the dailies?

The mistery of the Nigerian case is that if we take pains to check properly, those calling others thieves are bigger thieves if only we redirect our searchlight on them.
princeofpeace22:
Former Plateau State Governor, Jonah David Jang, on Thursday raised the alarm over an alleged plot by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to invade his house in search of looted funds.

Speaking during a Town Hall meeting with his constituents in Jos, the Senator representing Plateau North insisted that he had no looted fund in his house.

The Senator however, warned that anybody who breaks into his house would repair any damaged part of it.

Jang said, “Somebody came to my house and told me that there is plan to raid the houses of all former PDP Governors. My house is very open for them to come and search, but I want to say this to the hearing of the public, if anybody breaks my house, they will hear us up to supreme court.

You cannot break into my house and go free, you must come and repair it, if they think I hide money in the ceiling or anywhere, they should have equipment that can trace the money, but if they come to start breaking walls, they will repair my house because they will not find a kobo, I didn’t steal money.”

The former governor also alleged that his successor, Governor Simon Lalong has vowed to take him to jail for corruption but he will not find him guilty of any financial mess that will land him in prison.

“Lalong is investigating my Government to make sure he jail me, they have investigated and did not find anything, they have gone to EFCC nothing, they have gone to ICPC nothing, they are still back to EFCC again.

“Former President, Goodluck Jonathan had asked me where I got money to execute projects across the state but my pain is that the present government is not asking this question, they are only interested in soiling my name but what I did in eight years will vindicate me,” Jang said.

And that was case in most of the encounters. Standing order to the gatemen not to open the gate even with the search warrant. So that they can get online public sympathy.

EFCC does not break into people's houses without search warrants.
EFCC search one's house only if they have clues of any financial crime there. And they do that with valid warrant.
Those sophisticated criminals will always sell stale reasons to me and you, their victims to cover up there atrocity and make us think unwittingly that they are being victimized.
