Yes there is no way you will be in Cali and not sighsee, but you started off with it being your annual leave, and you will be visiting cali( when you say visit here and on leave i will think its for touristic purpose), then you added "and i will be attending a convention". This is my opinion and its very possible there were other more serious pointers the Vo saw and believed you do not merit the visa now.
About reapplying so soon, well its your 54k, you have the final say. All the best

Not necessarily a MUST. But you must be able to bring something new and tangible to the table and not come across as desperate at the end of the day, not so good for future applications. Reassess your ties and moves properly again.... If nothing changes substantially/evidently before your next interview, the outcome may remain the same we must advise.

There is no law like that cast in stone, its just the minimum time for some life changes to have occured which migh give your application more credibility, so many applicants never wait more than one two weeks, they reapply and most times they get their visa.

I would play it safe and not reapply so i will not look desperate.
The convention, has not been established by you to affect your career growth if you dont make it this year. Also your visit now is not event specific, like a family members wedding etc, so you can surely sightsee in the USA anytime in the future.

You alone know some key details and after weighing your options you may decide to re apply, a Vo who will listen more and get a clearer picture of your itinerary might be the one to interview you next. All the best

Do you know how the person migrated to the US?
Your being independent in the US gives you a better chance in my own opinion.
I think you shouldn't reapply in a hurry it will only show sign of desperation.

Next time, go along with a copy of your boyfriend's visa and tell the VO the truth. You want to go and have a nice time with BF in New York. Asking about family in Masachussetts is not a usual question. He called your attention to it because of the discrepancy between what you said and what was in your form. Serious inconsistency, gave you away as unprepared

U.S is not the only country where you can spend your holiday... try another country so you don't waste your short holiday before returning to work and omugwo duty

What's the meaning of omugwo?

I really don't know why the US Embassy wont let people know where they went wrong. If you say its because you are single, single people have gotten visa's. Reapply but not any time soon, don't use that your friend as a contact person this time around, book a hotel and use it as your contact person or better still don't fill that part. Wait three months though.

How did you make your daughter ' the host', did you create a profile using her details?
As a family, you ought to have created a profile and scheduled your appointment together as a 'family' not individually.

What I found out is,three things are important in Visa Application 1. Grace of God(cause a friend of mine applied through the same process and we were interviewed almost at the same time but was denied visa) 2. Self-Confidence and 3. Clarity of Purpose.

Thanks for the reply. I think I won't be applying again immediately...i will give it some time and try again on a future date...the reason why I felt like reapplying immediately was because I felt I wasn't give enough time to explain myself.
