You mean made you a prisoner?
Pray, tell us what you are free of as a christian. Besides everything normal men are scared of, you are additionally scared of demons, god, hell, enemies. Tell me the prison we athiests are in besides your imaginary prison of satan and hell. Harrypotter is more real to me

So you are now a Satan Convict. thats what Atheists are.
Saying words does not make them real. What is "satan convict" again? You guys just cook up imaginery terms. J.K Rowlings and TRR tolkens must be green with envy at how creative christians are.
I could as well say you christians are thors convict. Does that make it real? So what the fvk is satan convict? Just words you christians like to use to sound spiritual (aka stupid)

I became agnostic by reading Muslim vs Christian debates on nairaland. but before nairaland I was already having doubts about Christianity. so I started searching for the right religion and God and it led me to agnosticism.

Most people get this wrong, there are many atheists out there but they don't know they're one. The lying Christian apologists falsely define atheism to the extent most people hate the tag even though they're technically one.

Agnosticism is not a midway 'tween atheism and theism. Most atheists are agnostic and we have few theists who are agnostic as well. You either believe (theism) or you don't (atheism), there's no middle ground. Agnosticism is about knowing and not belief so my dear do you have a belief in god (theist) or you lack a belief in god(atheist)?

If you answer this truthfully you'd see you're an atheist. Agnostic atheist. Cheers

When will you and other Atheists give us Evidence of past or present Evolution,or give us the chemical equation or step by step breakdown of the Abiogenesis process.

Athiesm does not equal to biologist or evolutionist. An athiest weighs things he is told (cos all we think we know about god were stuff told to us) and decides to reject the idea of the god of religion. If god equals to creator whatever then I am a believer in god. Then I believe in the "God element" I believe in the man God of machines. But I reject you fable of Yahweh and Allah and Zeus and Obatala, and Panku and Jupiter and Brahma they are all fables to my understanding and an insult to logic. Perhaps RA is a God for Ra has created many things and is God to plants and animals here for without the sun there is no life as we know it. But has Ra asked to be worshipped? NO, so why should we worship any God when none as asked to be worshipped? Only men seeking to control other men have claimed God talks to them, God talks to no one and this can be prooved. So what were you saying again?

You seriously embrace these ridiculous theories yet have to guts to call someone who accepts the most rational explanation of the universe which the existence of cosmic designer deluded ?

You don't know how the universe came about but you are certain that it is not a conscious cosmic designer ? You people just don't realize how extremely foolish atheism is . Are all these theories not inventions of men ?

Just like Kay17 speculated that multiverses could exist ( idea FIRST gotten from Naruto and other science fictional stories ) but blatantly rejected that a cosmic designer exists .

This is simple but you guys are too slow to understand : if you are ready to embrace the possibility of these ludicrous theories branded as scientific without any shred of evidence then you have no right no audacity to ask for evidence for God .

"I don't know" by the atheist is being shallow and evasive .

At least you should be able to recognize that Kay 17 can not claim the Universe sprung from an abyss of emptiness and at the same time claim the Universe emerged from a larger Mulitiverse.

Your level of dishonesty and self denial strikes me as immaturity in handling centuries old debates on existence itself. We all have to admit that we are engaged in thought experiments by speculations and hypotheses about the beginning of the universe. We were not present to witness the beginning of the Universe in fact we were billions of years late. Yet you act with a puerile certitude that your hypothesis is a naked fact.

Also you lack an understanding of modern science. You are probably stuck with the secondary school level science where every observation can easily be proven in the school lab. But modern science has taken up pace to the point that the epistemological relevance of empirical observations are put to question and that science works with paradigms "within a worldview" and assumptions.

Your attitude surprises me even more considering that your cosmic designer is from a bible

This is the problem you have. You seem to be afraid of uncertainty, so you are quick to hang on to whatever answer gives you comfort. The God hypothesis completely fails the Occam's Razor test by postulating an entity with attributes that are borne from within the universe that it supposedly created.

I didn't know that your faith was based on humanity's current scientific ignorance. Isn't that what we can god of the gaps argument? All you've confirmed is that you pretend to know things that you don't know.

We may very well exist in a multiverse and the universe may not have had a beginning since time didn't exist before the Big Bang but those are just hypotheses (not theories, like you erroneously called them). Nobody hooks on to them dogmatically.

I'm sorry that I don't know the origins of our universe but the truth is that nobody does. We just have a lot of people who pretend to, which is what you're doing now.

HYFR. Did y'all see that? Atheists are fuckin' honest.

This is one of my gripe with the Christians and religionists in general. Dumbfucks sounds like they knew for certain about the origin of the universe and when you ask em knucklehead how they know this, they'll quote a line from an ancient war manual written by some ignorant goat herders called the Bible. Dumbass!

From the evidences and testimonies, it's pretty evident that Nairaland debates made a lot of people embrace their lack of belief.
So, the debates should continue and let everyone reading think for themselves and come to their own conclusions.

I always tell people atheism is very logical but these blockheads are under the firm grasp of indoctrination to understand

If there is a god he/she/it doesn't want anybody to know/find him/her/it.

If there is a god he/she/it didn't asked to be worshipped or want your money

He/she/it doesn't give a fu.ckk bout what's happening here

So why grovel in a building every Sunday hoping someone will send you money from above

Why pay money to charlatans (pastors) every Sunday

Why believe an executed fuc.king ba.stard called Jesus who lived in first century Palestine is god

Why make decisions basing it on the ground that this is what god want when nobody has seen or knew what God want

Why not simply live your frigging life like there's no god

Why not live your life disbelieving there's a long white bearded man watching you from the sky who grant wishes if you pray to him pending when you see evidence for that

F.uckk y'all numbskull who failed to realize how irrational and stupid it is to be a god peddling MOFO—theist

How many times have I got you copying verbatim articles and responses from atheists' websites and posting them as if they were yours ? You should be ashamed of yourself mehn cheesy

I study the written works of theologians , philosophers , logicians of the past and that is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of . One should stand on the shoulders of giants . I rarely copy and paste, I do that but I'm sure you'll hardly find up to 10 (ten) posts I've made that were copied out of over 6,000 (six thousand) different posts I've made on Nairaland
posting certain things doesn't mean I'm saying they're mine, what would've been wrong is if I claimed they were which I never did, talk with a bit of sense please

you're still hurt by the L I handed to you on the other thread and you're somehow trying to retaliate; I'm not keeping scores bro

anyways, you'll hardly see me use arguments from those videos, try to figure out why; you'll also hardly see me post videos of debates or watch 3 minute video on YouTube and pretend I've watched all like you do

My quota

I started doubting my religion until I came across Religion section on NL (tho I was most active on ROMANCE)

Responses from LiberaDeus struck my mind which made me left THEISM for agnosticism.

IN my quest for truth, I started deep research & questioning, logical, sensible debates & facts from ATHEISTs on this platform switched me to ATHEISM (level 7)

KingEbukasBlog:
The cosmic designer is conscious and intelligent as an incredibly simple umembodied mind [immaterial body].
This makes no sense, how can a mind exist without a brain? How can consciousness function without sensory input? The mind is the product of the complex interactions of our firing neutrons. You can disprove this claim by showing us instances of the brain violating the laws of dynamics. If not, then it is provably a material product.
KingEbukasBlog:
Only in our universe can minds be embodied. Being conscious makes It self aware , aware that It is eternal , self existent , self sufficient ; It is aware of everything minute even picayune details of any activity that goes on in and outside the universe etc . Being intelligent makes it possible to create complex systems like the universe and everything in it Example : Minds with material bodies like humans that can think and express freedom of will like It does . Will makes it possible for God to create the universe and in any possible way . I.e if God had to chosen to create a 5 dimensional universe It would have done so .
The trial-and-error, blundering, saw-tooth chart that represents evolutionary progress disproves your claim of intelligent design. Ask complex structures evolved gradually from simpler through simple, demonstrable natural processes
KingEbukasBlog:
Your response would have made sense if the cosmic designer was said to have these attributes while possessing a material body.
What does it mean to have an immaterial body? You either have a body or you don't. Care show us empirical proof of 'immaterial' bodies?
KingEbukasBlog:
Agnostic atheism is fallacious . It is an appeal to ignorance fallacy . There is nothing logical about a fallacy . There is no God because there is no evidence for God or it has not found one yet so it leans towards the non existence of God . That's why there's 'atheism' [rejection of the existence of God] attached to it .
The agnostic atheist stance is simple. It says: 1. It is highly improbable for God to exist. 2. There is no evidence supporting the God hypothesis. The same way you lean towards the non-existence of Sherlock Holmes, Batman and Vegeta is the same way I mean towards unbelief. The chances of God existing and God not existing are not equiprobable just the same way the chances of Russell's Teapot existing and not existing aren't equal or even close to equal.
KingEbukasBlog:
Again , if you reject the existence of a creator , how can you rely on a brain that you believe came from random unguided process to elicit rational thoughts and acknowledge the existence of God if it finds one . Isn't that irrational ?
The human brain is evolved to survive. It is very good at doing that although it has a pitfall: rationality and empiricism are not always the preferred line of thinking in the heat of the moment, hence irrationality survives to this day, religion and superstition are just vestiges of that. The good news is that we have empiricism, the empirical method limits the interference of our irrationality when perceiving our environment, and I know this because it works. Look around you and see what empiricism and objectivity can produce when applied: marvelous and mind-bending technology. Faith has never answered any question about the universe but has only served to satiate our curiosity. If Louis Pasteur had accepted the belief that disease was caused by evil spirits then he would never have discovered germ theory; how different would the world of today be if that had happened? The bottom line is that faith is not a reliable way of coming up with conclusions about reality. It just makes you pretend to know things that you don't.
KingEbukasBlog:
Atheism : In the beginning , there was nothing ; Now we have everything including intelligent conscious mind that can express will . Atheism has to be only for the retardedd honestly .

When I debate with theists on this forum, most of their replies seem to implicitly suggest that trying to convince them away from their religious beliefs through tools no other that reason and honesty discuss, is sort of a waste of time, as if my tenable arguments aren't compelling enough to spur anyone to rethink their religious beliefs. I also see similar allusive responses when I read other arguments between theists and atheists.

So my reason for creating this thread isn't just to prove to both Christians and Muslims that the efforts of atheists to enlighten theists about the flaws in their belief system isn't in vain, but also to create a rare opportunity for people to testify about how they questioned and abandoned their religious beliefs just by reading compelling and persuasive arguments by people on this forum.

If anyone isn't comfortable testifying with their main monikers, probably due to fears about public perception, he or she can create another account just for this purpose. People need to know that honest dialogue and civil debate is powerful enough to change minds.

Also, if you are a guest reading this, you can easily just create a username, drop your comment and go back to being a guest. smiley

After going through KingEbukasBlog posts, there's only one conclusion. God of the gaps is the only argument he has, nothing else.
The summary of his posts are It has to be God, then he'll go right ahead and make up qualities for his imaginary creator including being immaterial (what the fuckkkkkkk does that even mean?) and all his jargons.
