Saw this coming.

Quest made a correction that Lie Mohammed did not hear his question well and thought he asked where did Jollof rice originate from.

I think he's right.

Jollof rice originated from Sengal. It is their native meal and we only copied from them.

They call it 'wollof'

Correct answer bro.
But wait a minute... Lie Mohammed just said the truth for the first time since 2015. Chaii!!!

Seems he is in "truth mode" , let's quickly ask him about the state of health of Nigeria's number one man.

In his defence, it would be stupid to give such credit to Nigeria on an international screen knowing it's only a borrowed meal.

There are more important issue facing the country, though.

The question wasn't that of origin but of personal preference. And he shared his opinion which was albeit controversial.

However, like you rightly pointed out, the country is crawling when it should be sprinting (our peers are flying). Once again, we don't know where or how the president is and it's affecting everything negatively.

I almost go with his opinion that Senegalese jollof rice is better than ours but come to think of it; Mr Lie's opinion may be another Lie released from the oven of hell to provoke Nigerians. I have always learned to be happy by avoiding anything said by Lie personified.

If Lai Mohammed despite his many lies cannot tell our truth as it relates to jollof rice and being the minister of culture and tourism, it means we're in trouble in this country.

Geographical range and origin

Jollof rice is one of the most common dishes in Western Africa, consumed throughout the region including Senegal, Gambia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Togo, Cameroon, Mali and Ghana. There are several regional variations in name and ingredients, with non-local versions regarded as "inauthentic".[1] The name Jollof rice derives from the name of the Wolof people,[6] though now called theibou dienn or benachin. In French-speaking areas, it is called riz au gras. Despite the variations, the dish is "mutually intelligible" across the region, and has spread along with the diaspora to become the best known African dish outside the continent.[2][5]

The points of origin of the dish are mostly debated among Ghanaians and Nigerians, since both countries claim to be the origin of jollof rice. Jollof rice is typically seen as a culturally sensitive issue between Nigerians and Ghanaians. Based on its name, the origins of Jollof rice can be traced to the Senegambian region that was ruled by the Jolof Empire. Food and agriculture historian James C. McCann considers this claim plausible given the popularity of rice in the upper Niger valley, but considers it unlikely that the dish could have spread from Senegal to its current range since such a diffusion is not seen in "linguistic, historical or political patterns". Instead he proposes that the dish spread with the Mali empire, especially the Djula tradespeople who dispersed widely to the regional commercial and urban centers, taking with them economic arts of "blacksmithing, small-scale marketing, and rice agronomy" as well as the religion of Islam.[2]

I used the origin to explain why I believe he's right.

'Efo riro' is of the South west and is eaten almost all over the country yet it's better prepared by the south westerns themselves. Likewise Banga and Ogbono is better prepared by those it is indegenious to.

His answer is very very appropriate and is only deemed controversial because of lack of information and misplaced priority.

His master supported a candidate from another country for the OAU Secretary General position years back. Now Lai Mohammed has thrown his support for Senegalese jollof rice. Mumu minister of Culture!!! Your default answer should be Nigeria even if it's a lie. If na another lie now... you will be lying everywhere

This lie guy finished us. This is an old age battle. The battle of supremacy of African jollof rice. It has been whittled down to two countries: Nigeria and Ghana. The whole world is aware of this battle. This foolish minister of culture is not! He ruined the fun and attraction to Nigeria. Mtchewwwwe
