At least with N1.5m u can buy the container and do the interior with the furniture buying. Simple life instead of donating money to landlords yearly. But all I fear is what happened in calabar.

i think creating air vent at the top of the container will solve the issue with heat

Container Houses are awesome awesome can customise to your choice and also the interior to suit your Clime.

I those complaining about NEPA, You could harness the roof top space to litter your Solar Panels to turn your home into a Zero Energy Efficient Building..

Below Is a smaller version and cheaper for bachelors (concrete foundation and Material Finishes) called KODAMEN developed by KODA .. I'm working on developing one as replacement for those Batchers in Slums

most of the time it is insulated against heat .you wont fee any heat. The only downside is the rusting issue

E nor fit work.
We nigerians are rough.
We cant even keep our houses clean
Cars clean
Money clean
Toilets clean

E nor fit last cause na so so dagbo
Sub standard materials interior decor go use

There is a company that does this in Nigeria. the company is based in Lagos. Some of their works are very impressive and neat. They use about two or three containers and insulate it well. from the exterior you will have a hard time knowing it was made of containers.

Nice one explorers

Container houses have been around for a while, not in Nigeria though, and I look forward to building something like this of my own

Although I will make it more spacey

Reasons why I like the concept are

1) You can "remove" the house eventually and relocate it to another plot of land

2) It is cheaper to build

3) It just looks different

4) There are lots of styles to choose from

5) Occupies less space

etc

Let me add some pics from some ideas I got online too

It's quite popular in Delta state and Port Harcourt. A good example is Saipem camp by Warri Refinery and Petrochemical company at Ekpan in Warri. It has over 100 containers made into habitable houses.

the container can be cut open for windows and even doors.. Most of them are fitted with solar panels.. Instead of spending 1million cement and wood.. You can instead, use it buy solar panels, enough to carry your fridge and every other device

Talk more on the solar energy thing, can one use N1m to build enough solar energy to power AC and every other home appliances?

yes.. I asked a solar panel installation guy about my houses needs and he gave me a budget roughly around 1m including the inverter.

Me house appliances are

2 acs
1 fridge
2 tvs
Sound system
Then one laptop
The rest are just bulbs and the usual.. I also use an ac
