Introducing Implicit Theism : So You Think We Were Born As Atheists ? by KingEbukasBlog(m): 11:00am On Apr 30, 2017 |
Introduction As far back as 1772, Baron d'Holbach said that "All children are born Atheists; they have no idea of God". What must have prompted Baron to make such ludicrous statement ? But hold on , you haven't seen anything yet . Another atheist George Smith in 1979 introduced two new concepts of atheism : implicit atheism and explicit theism . He defined implicit atheism as the "the absence of theistic belief without a conscious rejection of it" and explicit atheism as "the absence of theistic belief due to a conscious rejection of it." What must have led Baron d'Holbach and George Smith to hold such inane opinions ? The ignorance of scientific knowledge of course ! Atheists have fought and are fighting shamelessly to make atheism seem as a default state of humans . And make theistic beliefs seem like they are only induced through indoctrination and religion . But science has proven otherwise . Thank God for that ! According to the the findings of Bruce Hood, professor of developmental psychology at Bristol University, humans are programmed to believe in God because it gives them a better chance of survival. And with the way children's brains develop during the process of evolution , the study strongly suggests that those with religious tendencies began to benefit from their beliefs : by working in groups to ensure the future of their community. Does this render Baron's statement and George's concept invalid ? Yes it does . During the initial stages of evolution , humans lived with pre-programmed reactions to events . That is : every event has an automatic response that follows suit . And these automatic responses were overseen by mostly the brain stem and the basal ganglia (the repository of habits ) . Only during the latter stages of evolution did man develop the neocortex - the thinking brain - so as to be consciously aware of the his actions . This gave him the opportunity to make choices , plan , make sense of whatever information he receives , learn and make judgments . Since the study has indicated that religious tendencies have been ingrained or pre-programmed to ensure our survival then we are unconsciously aware of them at birth . What does this mean ? This can only mean that babies are not born as atheists like Barond'Holbach declared but science has led us to understand that we have the propensity to believe in God . This also invalidates one of George Smith's concepts of atheism -implicit atheism - because there is the ever presence of innate tendencies to believe in God or seek for the existence of the supernatural though we are unconsciously aware of these tendencies . What then is Implicit Theism ? Our propensity to believe in God makes us implicit theists . We veer towards having the belief in God even unconsciously . Therefore, implicit theism is the propensitious veering towards having a belief in God . Is this a case for Theistic Evolution ? Theistic evolutionists accept that God must have designed life through the process of cosmic and biological evolution . In other words , God orchestrated the process of evolution. So naturally , we are designed to seek and understand the existence of the cosmic designer . He has established these tendencies in us that we might come to the understanding of Himself . Does this mean Atheism is against man's natural or default state ? There are myriads of signs which have shown atheism to be simply unnatural . The incessant attention-seeking by the atheists on social media platforms , the vituperation by Richard Dawkins and other militant rabid atheists - all these are done to suppress the limbic urge to answer the call of the creator . Its in us . Embrace it . Conclusion Implicit theism is apparently man's natural default state . I have buttressed this with science and reason ; and this is now open for use . Thank You For Reading and Happy Sunday Everyone ! cc : lalasticlala , mynd44 5 Likes 4 Shares |

No One is Born Believing in any God, You have to be Indoctrinated and Brainwashed into Believing Something with No Evidence Whatsoever. When viewing a religious demographics map based on census data, this point becomes very obvious. The vast majority of believers believe their version of the "one true religion/god" simply because of where they were born and raised. I only choose not to believe what others are trying to convince me of. That they don't have a convincing argument or evidence means I am making a rational decision. They are brainwashed and are simply tryna do the same to me There are 7 billion people in this world. That they believe differently in India than in the US is very telling. Religion and beliefs are cultural. Superstition and spirituality are part of the human mind for some reason. People fear death and they want answers for things they can't find answers to. So people make things up. 21 Likes 3 Shares |

hopefulLandlord: Atheists can also be religious ( be part of non theistic religions like Buddhism and Confucianism ) superstitious and spiritual and deists who acknowledge the existence of God completely reject religious and superstitious beliefs . There are atheist witches too . Didn't you read my thread God without religion and Religion without God ? If you did , why haven't you learnt anything ? The purpose of this thread is to prove that the man has been designed to seek the existence of the supernatural or God . And to expose the parochiality of atheists Baron D'Holbach and George Smith and the atheists who quickly accepted their foolish declarations and concepts without impugning them . I'm a Christian and a scientist, with specialist interest in biopsychology. My interest in this your post stems from my ability to be a Christian and scientist. Despite the parallel premise from which both operate. The scientific work you referred, may have suggested inference that you don't understand. Because, what is generally known and accepted in Behavioural Neuroscience, is that human is functionally a belief being. Without conscious or subconscious acceptance of our our lives and environment as real, existence is impossible. So, human beings are capable of believing anything, as long as they are able to come up with evidence (real or imaginary), to support such beliefs. Now, as a Christian, I believe that God created human beings this way. Exercising that belief capacity, is a volitional one. At the age of reason, human beings decides on what or who they want to believe. The defective reasoning in this thread, is obviated by one fact, which is; if human is programmed by God to believe him (theism) innately, why would a child brought up in an environment devoid of God mention, not automatically start believing in God? But researchers have established this (that humans are not innately programed, to align with a particular belief) in various mental conditioning experiments. 18 Likes 7 Shares |

hopefulLandlord: Another shallow comment . Man in the course of understanding the existence of God created different concepts and theological positions to explain His existence . That explains the false concepts of God in different religions . Believing Something with No Evidence Whatsoever. The greatest minds who are Deists and theists say that nature serves as evidence of God . Evidence is defined as a set of things that validates a belief . We all know that life , consciousness , intelligence , reason and everything sine qua non for the existence and continuation of life could not have come from random unguided processes , mistakes and serendipitous events like most atheists posit , the only reasonable explanation is God . You have been brainwashed to believe there is no God . It is an irritable irrational decision . Anyone with sound intellect would be peeved at the foolishness of atheism . Superstition and spirituality are part of the human mind for some reason. People fear death and they want answers for things they can't find answers to. So people make things up. Typical shallow response from the atheist . Not every religion or religious beliefs involve an after-life . There are people who acknowledge the existence of God while rejecting the belief in the after-life . Atheists in Buddhism accept the belief in reincarnation . Atheists in Jainism belief that man attain godhood when he dies . Atheists in Unitarian Universalism seek spiritual growth . God is beyond the purview of religion 3 Likes 1 Share |

Aquiprsy: Thank you sir for your contribution . At the age of reason , deism became prominent and the acknowledged the existence of God through a posteriori knowledge devoid of any religious indoctrination . Religious beliefs were mocked and ridiculed by the deists . The defective reasoning in this thread, is obviated by one fact, which is; if human is programmed by God to believe him (theism) innately, why would a child brought up in an environment devoid of God mention, not automatically start believing in God? This is very less likely . If man during the course of biological evolution could deduce the existence of God and create concepts explaining His existence whereby prior to that time that idea was non existent , then why wouldn't a child brought up in an environment devoid of 'God mention not deduce the existence of God ? |

menxer: KingEbukasBlog: No humans knows anything, except he first learn it (be it consciously or subconsciously). Because, it's experimentally unethical, to make human grow in the lab, from fertilized stage to adulthood, we can't use human model, to demonstrate that NO human INNATELY have belief in God. But lower animal model, has helped in establishing the fact, that no innate - belief - specific, exist in human mind. An indirect way of establishing this, is to consider how human grow up to believe and strongly believe that their own variant of God, is the true God. This is a product of mental conditioning via the environment or knowledge. A Christian believes the Christian God, because such Christian grew up, in dominant Christian environments or knowledge. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

KingEbukasBlog: As a Christian, i simply accept the existence of God, on faith as prescribed in the bible. Beyond this faith walk with God, i can't prove anything about God. An attempt to do this, is an attempt to ridicule and mock the spiritual things. By faith (not by logic or science), we UNDERSTAND that God, via his word created....... Now, as a scientist, we know and understand, that the origin of gods and religions, are strongly connected with the perplexity and ignorance of the early men. This is obvious from the myths and superstitions, that characterize these gods and religious practices. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Aquiprsy: Isn't it said in the bible that nature serves as evidence by God ? The deists who acknowledge the existence of God did so not by mere believing or blind faith but by science , observation , logic and reasoning . Now, as a scientist, we know and understand, that the origin of gods and religions, are strongly connected with the perplexity and ignorance of the early men. This is obvious from the myths and superstitions, that characterize these gods and religious practices. Of course some unknown natural phenomena then were prescribed as actions of gods and religions were developed due to ghis false perception . It does not in any preclude the existence of God . Its like saying that discovering your mistaken belief that a conversation with AI Siri with your apple device was a conversation with Tim Cook means that apple devices were not designed but a product of random unguided mechanical processes and Tim Cook does not exist . Makes no sense right ? If you would understand God is beyond the purview of religion then these things wont be beyond your ken . |

. Thank you my brother KingEbukasblog For this informative post Here is a science article that backs up this article http://www.science20.com/writer_on_the_edge/blog/scientists_discover_that_atheists_might_not_exist_and_thats_not_a_joke-139982 The funny part is that the scientist who carried out the research being referenced in the article is a staunch atheist. But he was sincere enough (unlike the ones here) to admit that atheism appears to be alien to the human make up. As a matter of fact, some even concluded that atheists dont exist. 2 Likes 1 Share |

There is only one God one message. It's man's interpretation that changes. For those who wish to see God- some create idols, crosses and images. Man decides how many times he wants to worship his defined god. Man serves his god his presumed favorite dishes- eggs, palmoil, solid pap etc in a nice Calabash. Some choose Men with unique powers, attributes, body parts, gallant warriors as their god. Some feel that since He can't be seen then He does not exist. Some feel men are too small and prefer the sun, the moon, the biggest tree, mountains rivers as their god. You choose how you define God. - God's way or your way. But remember he has kept .5 of his promise - sent reminders (evidence exists)........ The other 0.5 is We All go back to Him for Judgement. 2 Likes 1 Share |

felixomor: Sure the same scientist in another studies have also said religious experience aren't supernatural but natural part of our brain function once conditioned to certain things. Beliefs aren't facts. That people believe something doesn't make it true, after all about 70% percent of the world's population doesn't believe in your own version of God that other men created because they also have their own God versions. Beliefs aren't facts. That you believe something doesn't make it true. You are only emotionally attached to your beliefs that is why you believe that who ever disagrees with your God idea is angry. Some muslims and christians have even gone ahead of you, they kill those that disagree with them because they feel they are evil not just angry because of their disbelief . You are actually are not different from them because you once told me to mock your God so that he'll kill me, I did and it failed to your face and you ran away in shame. I am always here, go tell your God to delete my account so that I can stop disturbing you guys. After all you believe he is all powerful and you wanted him to even harm me the other time. You are completely deluded. I know it hurts that I keep.pointing out to you that your specially held beliefs are nothing but inventions of oter men that have no power in reality as you are made to believe. Cry all yu want but your religion and everything about it remains a man made invention just like all the other religions. |
