Emeskhalifa: Its a very common thing, even in core Urhobo areas. Hopefully, we will rectify this anomaly. People are putting things in place to change the tide. |

Nicho118:which UPU? The people that are after their pocket , not the interest of any Urhobo person. Take for example the Urhobo cultural centre in Agbarho, is that one a house or where they used to train pig? After billions of naira spend on it nothing to show for it. 2 Likes |

The (White?) lady seen speaking fluent impeccable Urhobo in the video is Nancy, she is mixed raced, spent the best part of her life growing up in Warri, Nigeria but was actually born in the UK. She is actively involved in Urhobo socio-cultural affairs here in the UK where she resides. She puts those who take pride in speaking pidgin English to the detriment of their mother tongue to shame. They do no justice to their cultural heritage at all. She is a joy to listen to and interact with at close quarters. She's as Urhobo and Nigerian/British as they come. By the way, she was married to a fellow Urhobo, a Nigerian. Emo r'uvwie, mama yon r'emo ma obo r'u me j'uvwie. Uvwie General!!!. Ma rega gwa, abu'vwie, erun erun. Uvwie wado, Urhobo wado, Isoko wado. Nigeria wado. isi egware! 2 Likes |

Efewestern: @Efewestern, the best way to a learn a language, especially your mother tongue, Uvwie (Urhobo)is to make a conscious effort at speaking, listening to and interacting with speakers of the language both young and old. With time, you'll become proficient and adept at speaking it to the extent that you'll probably be spicing up your words and sentences with proverbs and idioms learnt from seasoned speakers of Uvwie. The first step is always the most difficult but courageous one to take. Osonobrugwe dabo fio keye! 1 Like |

fratermathy: Meme omo r'uvwie, Urhumarho (Pop), Ugberikoko (Mum). The fairness of her skin has no connotation with anything. The dominant gene of her mother, a white woman (elementary biology and genetics) far outshone that of her recessive dad's gene. Her children look darker than her in the context of your observation. 1 Like |

thehedge:I don't do them. I see people stunned the moment they learn I'm Urhobo and I don't drink. It's almost like saying a particular fish doesn't swim. Lol. I believe I am one of the very few who breaks away from what seems to be the norm. |
