Before the battle of Adwa, emperor Menelik had brought large quantity of rifles and other materials from Russia. Even Russia had sent a top level colonel/general to Ethiopia, so he can train Ethiopia army. Out of 100,000 Ethiopian soldiers at the battle of Adwa, 70,000-80,000 soldiers were equipped with best rifles.

Actually Kyukes have a lot of Ethio,especially Oromo and some Omotic people called Hamar and IIRC Dorze,though there was also an ancient migration from Tigre. Imo,that bantu migration story from Naij-Cameroon is deliberate bs to distort African story. Most bantus don't have any such legend,fyi.

There was a second Italo-Abyssinia war for 6 months in 1935-36. After that war, Italy occupied some parts of Abyssinia/Ethiopia from 1936-41. Most areas of Ethiopia at that period wasn't occupied by Italy and Ethiopia didn't surrendered. In 1941, with the joint Anglo-Ethiopian forces, ethiopia was liberated.

In the 1960 Rome Olympic, Abebe Bikila won a Gold medal at the marathon. He became the first black African to win gold medal at Olympic. One popular Italian newspaper the following day said, "Mussolini sent his best million soldiers to invade Ethiopia, but Ethiopia only sent one imperial bodyguard to conquer Rome". This was just an expression.

I am not sure there is much reason to doubt the Bantu migration given the evidence. I however doubt how they are light skinned when most west africans are very dark skinned homo sapiens. Many of them seem to have come down from the north
