I think its both. Men are usually the most cultural or racial extremists and a lot of women seem to be attracted to darker skinned men. The opposite seems to be the case where other men usually view darker skinned women as ugly, especially African dark skinned women (they have many prejudices they won't overcome unlike women who are more open minded).
