Talking about self awareness, that's one of the downsides to this robots and A.I we are talking about. I really did enjoy A.I as a course during my school days. But if these Robots become self aware of which I think might eventually happen if caution isn't taken.... then we are all done for.

Though their becoming self aware might either be for good too... we can't really say for sure how these things will turn out.

They will never make robots and all those nonsense. We will soon stop making cars. Cars are too dangerous. Many people die in auto crashes every day. If we go back to walking, cycling and horse riding (also dangerous but not anywhere near autocrashes and aircrashes), we will live longer.

OP, self driving cars won't be much of a problem. In fact I know for a fact that The next step for autonomous vehicles is to have them all connected to a network just like you have computers on The internet. I know a research team working on this.

The fears are already within us. We already have intelligent home systems where you can connect your home electronics via your mobile phones. Your fridges are self aware and can warn you when you're running short of items. You can control your heating from anywhere in the world. These are already available. Home assistants like Amazon echo are now part of our lives.

Someday many will leave the cities and head for the quietness and sanity in rural areas and villages...lol

I want to encourage everyone to read this book on the future of AI & humans. "SAPIENS" & "HOMO DUES", by Yuval Noah Harari. Infact, he described "SAPIENS " as a "a brief history of tomorrow "

You guys wikl understand that the reason for AI, is not just about comfort but basically to conquer death by prolonging human life with robots. We now can replace human limbs with robotic limbs, we can talk & live with robots., etc.

In the future human may be subject to Robots, as robots will be infused with human minds/consciousness which will eventually lead to a more better man who cannot be ravaged by disease or infection. And whose skin may be resistant to even corrosives & whose body can withstand all kinda tremors & conditions.

Before humans happened on this earth there were dinosaurs. They became extinct.

A.I will be the dearth of mankind on this planet unless we find a way to reach the distant stars and galaxies.

Robots will make sure humans become extinct on this planet. They will be more powerful, more accurate and they will lack emotions. And that is just the beginning.

Don't worry yourself about the future op. When the time comes , the human race will still survive because the AI and Robots don't consume but we do.what is the point in producing when there is nobody to consume or buy? So we would still be needed somehow

Everybody cant get a job in ai security tho.

Self awareness might be inevitable. I mean the human race is moving towards absolute AI dependence. so why not try to build AI systems that improve themselves and build up new algoritjms by themselves to prevent humans tampering with it every month to bring a new upgrade, that woulf save time spent working on AI and money too in the long run.
I just think it eventually has to happen.

All we need is to do is build an unrewrittable program that makes it unable to harm humans.(I'll make an example of AIDA from agents of shield)

Dr radcliffe wrote a program that would prevent her from harming humans except they were calculated by his algorithms to be a threat to the framework.
And upon the fact that AIDA could write an algorithm to make a body for the russian anti inhuman guy, she still could not write him into harming humans except they threatened the framework.

I think a similar approach would be the only thing to save humans from doom at the hands of our new slaves.

However in the far but not too far future i think humans and these AIs will merge. I mean there are scientists that already have implants on their bodies that help them control certain machine parts and systems just by thinking. Basically their brains are connected wirelessly to these machines and systems.
So its a matter of time be4 we are able to replace our body parts with machines parts. The age of the cyborgs might not be so far off now i look at it

what if I told u the traffic light is also an A.I system/robot.
If only u know how much Nigerian Financial systems pay to secure their network and how much they lose to d few ones who gets a way thru,but they will not put such info in d pulic so as not to cause panic amidst their customers.

The emergence of AI would take over a lot of jobs. In advanced countries, robots now do most of man power jobs which is a kind of cost reducing tactics for industries. Every sector of the economy now operates on one technology or the other.

Everything with advantages also have disadvantages. There are millions of accident/year worldwide with human drivers. A I cars once perfected will be actually cool. Too many crazy people(drivers) in this world and mind you, hacking doesn't take place everyday, plus they will do something about it too
