I heard missiles do explode few seconds before hitting aircrafts, how true is that? The writer claimed the missile doesn't explode on impact.

ECM/ECCM are places I will love to see Nigeria developing indigenous capabilities on.

Electronic Warfare is what I really adore.

depends on the fuzes/sensors being used .

generally AAM don't hit aircraft for kill they use proximity fuzes/sensors either radio based or laser based to detonate their warheads

again there r multiple types of warheads like directional warheads or multi EFP warhead or continuous rod warhead or simple fragmentation warhead or HE warhead.

directional warheads / gimballed warheads sends a shower of tungsten etc cubes at the target (imagine a expanding cone ), while the conventional ones do it in a relatively 369 degree cone.

basic idea for this is to expand the no escape kill zone considerably and increase the kill probability of a maneuvering fighter

hit to kill kinematic engagements r very difficult to achieve in terms of technology, reliability, efficiency and costs.

Yes. What do you have to say about Nigeria developing such capability?

Possible time frame etc?

difficult to say without insight into present capabilities/resources/infra.

only people in the loop can answer that

for any country, if everything were to be started from scratch with minimum external help, i estimate 10-15 years for decent capability in all 3 air land and naval domain. u will have 1st generation products rolling out much earlier than 10-15 years, but u will need more time to get a stable mature and established capability.

remember it takes lot of time to identify /train manpower and also to establish test centers / research facilities / gather funds etc etc

setting up production facilities for limited quantities of EW systems is cost prohibitive , it can be offset to some extent by using COTS
but it takes even more time to identify/train/guide local vendors to supply components / LRUs / parts for production activities.

for cost effectivess civilian industrial capability will need to keep pace with developments

u get to start first then with time u will figure it out . smiley

Let me ask you one question. How many years do you think will take India to develop this technology?
We already have it here.

south african nukes

in the pics casings actually , looks like gun type fission devices

last pic vaults for dissembled nuke cores most probably

one of the difficult things in nukes is to design the high voltage triggering mechanism , if the triggering sequence is out of sync even by 1 milliseconds the bomb will fizzle out

there is perse no such thing as indian magic/ voodoo etc

basically what we have is some corruption of tantra by individuals looking to fool the gullible and make money. this is how the magical aspect started 300 + years ago

but media both indian and foreign in search of sensationalism feed the misinformation

there is tantra whose ideas and spiritual practices are mostly well placed, but it also has a estoric / magical? element practiced by breakaway groups/sects. its very old 500BC no body knows for sure though .

Tantra ( "warp (weaving) " ) as a Hindu tradition (later Buddhist) was a method to activate and utilize Kundalini energy (bio-energy) for the expressed purpose of spiritual advancement.

the chinese chi concept was derived from Kundalini concept carried there by the Buddhist monks

Tantra in essence defies all the tenants of a religion, while maintaining a spiritual core. And while there are indeed rituals, the rituals are for reference.

Buddhist Tantra, and Taoism are outgrowths of the original form of Tantra which began in ancient India.

but over a period of time tantra evolved into lots of variations / forms of tantra , and as is the outcome of multiple evolution's a very few of them deviated towards estoric rituals (for outsiders it will seem magic maybe ).

actual i myself dont know much about it , becz tantra is really very very huge , many forms/variations r there and many have been lost/forgotten.

google about Coitus Reservatus and Coitus Obstructus grin

The way to accomplish union with the divine according to Tantra, was to become one with the "World Soul" itself. Since Tantrism was a sect of the feminine it envisioned the "World Soul" as being encapsulated in the image of the goddess (Shakti).
Sexual intercourse was seen as a way to combine the male and female energies, which were seen as originating from the Cosmos. The manifestation of this duality are the deities Shiva (male) and Shakti (female). yin and yang grin

ur GF will never leave u if u practice tantric s*x in real life grin cheesy grin

estoric tantra practiced by very few sects long ago makes for a interesting read (it might horrify u or interest u beyond imagination)
mostly it is interesting becz what thay did then is being now being practiced by western world , behind curtains , and not all though grin

let me give u a taste of one estoric tantric practice Panchamakara grin grin grin grin

Madya - crude meaning: wine; allegorical or subtle meaning: the divine nectar amrita.
Mamsa - crude meaning: meat; allegorical or subtle meaning: control of speech.
Matsya - crude meaning: fish; allegorical or subtle meaning: the ida and pingala nadi, which are controlled through pranayama(yoga).
Mudra - crude meaning: the use of certain foods; allegorical or subtle meaning: spiritual company (satsang) and avoiding negative company.
Maithuna -crude meaning: sexual self-restraint; allegorical or subtle meaning: to raise the kulakundalini and unite it with Paramashiva, the nucleus consciousness at sahasrara cakra (pineal gland).

as u see there r 2 interpretations for each : crude and subtle

crude practice of the above by some :

a man would offer himself for sacrifice of his own free will as a sign of devotion and for 1 year he would enjoy the above 5 before his end time , not bad if i say so becz in ancient time majority could not afford all of these , depends how u look at it.

subtle practice of the above by some:

a man would practice yoga sadhana (meditation) while in the "midst of crude enjoyments" and then gradually reduce the consumption of wine, meat, fish, etc. and also to not overindulge in sexual activities, and after reducing the allurement of these activities, then engage in the subtle practices of Tantra meditation for his personal entitlement.

on hindsight magic actually involves psychological warfare dont u think ? grin
