I don't know much about them, but service is their largest economy. We pay huge amounts of Dollars to them, for letting us use their ports for import.

The Djibouti president usually visit Ethiopia and his resting place is around my home.

And world bank is kidding too?
We have the problem yet we are still far richer than you slum dwellers.

I guess we should vote in the Kenyattas who are better leaders as they own half of Kenya.
They have turned Kenya to their family heritage. Uhuru Kenyatta's wife or girlfriend will be your next president.

60% of the 22million inhabitants of Lagos live in slums, and typical of the slums in Africa, they are faced with a myriad of challenges, including access to toilets

Some of your brothers are already afraid.

Need I tell you how Kenyatta International Conference Center was overflowing with single ladies eager to hear the secret to a man’s heart? I hope the Nigerian priest of marriage finds time to speak with brodas in Nairobi, and ask them why they let all those chicks roam the streets waiting for a Nigerian to hook them up.

"I weep for my mother’s land. Not because I have anything against Nigerians, but for the Kenyan predilection of being so trusting. It has been said in other quarters that the great state of Nigeria, will hit a population of 250 million in the next couple of decades. Now, that is a huge population. Seeing that they are also so enterprising, after colonizing us culturally, they will need extra land to grow their food and keep their cattle. Remember the vast Athi-Tana plains are still empty.

“Oshe…oshe O….oshe O…oshe Baabaa…” see, I also learnt some Igbo in Nairobi. Now you go learn some, my broda O, and see how yori yori (sweet) it sounds."

It is a process that has already been initiated.

If Nigeria government is focusing only on Abuja or Lagos like Kenya government is doing to Nairobi, they for don turn New York. grin

Don't mind the foolish Kenyans.
Nigeria has dozens of cities that are all developing at the same time, while the Kenyan govt spends all their money in developing Nairobi and Mombasa alone and yet these cities still have the largest slums in Africa.

I can't imagine if the entire Nigeria has spent all our time building only Lagos and Abuja, by now, both cities would have been competing with Tokyo and New york.

Nigerianilization of kenya, i tell you my broda it has already begun.

"Nigerians are tough business people to compete against and are also very aggressive. East Africans, we are a little passive."

Figures from the Kenya Investment Authority (KIA) show that trade between the two coun- tries is low and fell from a peak of KSh3.2bn worth of exports from Kenya to Nigeria in 2008, to KSh2.9bn ($34.2m) in 2012.

The KIA says it has registered six Nigerian projects in Kenya, including three in the restaurant business and one in media.

"We are currently following up to facilitate a mining in- vestment proposal of $400m in addition to other investments," a KIA spokesperson says.

Kibera alone has 3 million people, what about the other dozens?
Pls, tell that to the birds.

Okay, let's settle it this way.

What is the total GDP of Nairobi? Then we divide it by the 6 million people of Nairobi. If the GDP per capital is below or equal the national average, then it's obvious that half of Nairobi's population live in slums and poverty, but if it is far above the national average, (just like Lagos is far above Nigeria's average), then we know that the poor slum dwellers are not so numerous.

Are you up for this challenge??

We know why Nigerians are fleeing and pretending to be investors

The uprooted are crammed into squalid camps and towns already too destitute to deal with the influx. Food, water, and sanitation are scarce or nonexistent, leaving few options other than open defecation. The camps and slums provide a perfect breeding ground for disease. In a deadly cycle, malnutrition renders children more susceptible to infection and less able to fight it. Epidemics of measles and malaria rage, and polio has resurfaced. Child mortality is off the charts, "two, three, four times" above the emergency threshold, says Marco Olla, a pediatric specialist with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Paris. Malaria has been the biggest killer, accounting for about half of all deaths, but acute respiratory infections and diarrhea are now vying for the top spot.

It is hard to rank human tragedies, but by all accounts this is one of the worst on the African continent today. "It is really, really, really bad for a lot of people. It is a crisis of great severity and magnitude," says Jorge Castilla of the health emergencies program at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland. Yet it remains remarkably unrecognized and hugely underfunded, leaving aid workers struggling with how to deliver lifesaving interventions when the needs are so great and the resources so paltry.

Literacy hovers around 20% or 30%, and it is far lower among women, who bear, on average, about seven children. The population is swollen with a generation of young adults with no education and few prospects, leaving them vulnerable to extremist ideology.

Boko Haram emerged in this environment around 2009. Its full name translates into "People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet's Teaching and Jihad," but the group is better known by the shorter one, which means "Western Education is a Sin." The size of its army is unknown, though estimates place it at 15,000 or more. It rules by its own warped and cruel version of Sharia law.

At first, Boko Haram's attacks were sporadic, but the insurgents soon ratcheted up the intensity and seized more and more territory across the north. The group announced its presence to the world in 2011 by bombing the U.N. headquarters in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, and then gained further international notoriety in April 2014 when it kidnapped more than 250 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno.

Even before he took office in August 2015, newly elected Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, a former general, declared war, vowing to crush the insurgents. The fighting has been brutal—innocents have been slaughtered by both sides.

Leave the fools alone.
Nigerians will soon take over Kenya's economy.

Nigeria's Jumia is now the largest online market in Kenya......ooops, i mean only and largest online market in Kenya, cos Kenyans never knew anything like online markets till we came there.

Kenyans boast about their malls controlled by Indians, while Nigerians have since advanced to the level of online markets where we get goods delivered to our door steps. grin

I have asked these foolish Kenyans times without number to show me how any Kenyan invention has affected the life of the average Nigerian or West African, but they were dumb!
All they could mention was Mpesa (which is failing in many countries and does not even have up to 1% membership of the west African market).

Dangote is now dominating the East African cement markets while the fools are busy typing here insulting us and making SEUN OSEWA (a Nigerian) richer! grin

On a Nigerian forum with millions of aggressive Nigerians you have only few Nigerians interested in this thread. That should tell u guys something. An average Naija man is concerned about North and South ish ; which wan be pan africanism? I have not heard about that since I finished reading my government textbooks.
