Do yall trust dna testing? I wonder who does the test, like do they take university students or go to random small communities in villages? Anyone taken one before? 23andme is doing a free test for africans, here is the link: https://www.23andme.com/africa-project/

My parents tested with Ancestry.com and both are from a ton of tribes (their African Portion). What do yall think of these results? How can I figure out actual ethnicity/tribe since the countries are fairly new? Like it lists countries and outdated names like "hunter gatherers"? isn't that kind of offensive? Based on my mom and dad(below) what kind of African would you consider them? Thanks in advance...

Try uploading the raw data to dna.land or gedmatch.com. I did both and they give decent info. I wouldnt take ever bit of info from it but if the percentage is high then the likelihood of truth is strong. But dont trust the african ancestry one its a Gimmick.( i know that sounds bad but it's true

ok one thing you should inquire more on is your surname where it originated from,your surname will set what you are looking for that to start with,if you are truely ready no problem it will only take time..

I've done that all the way back to 1830. The information was amazing but it still leaves a major void which is only filled by connecting oneself back to your people who we were forcibly disconnected from.

After researching the data and looking at what peoples went in the areas That my different branches of family are from it is conclusive that i and 76% Yoruba. So yes I would say it's clear that you are at least part nigerian
