I expect car owners to be wiser. They will be the losers.
I ve recalled my vehicles before the double wears and tears finally kill them. Cars will die within 6 months when halve of the investment is yet to be recouped. My drivers says no problem I can cope, but am wiser.

I also kept 2 of my cars on standby. Will port to Taxify this weekend. But I'm worried if they can operate with only 5% commission for very long.

That's the problem. Our house is divided. Some of us are offline and some are online. How will uber or taxify take us serious.
Bro. you still think the surge was caused by drivers not being online?

I had this feeling that if Uber had retained their old prices most drivers would have switch off their Taxify apps. The only people that would have remained on taxify would be those who failed uber activation

But Riders will switch to Taxify... And Uber doesn't want to loose it riders... And in Nigeria everything cheap sells fast. grin

Dont blame Uber, its a game of competition, there must be losers and winners in every game. And in this game car owners likely loose more, while drivers will only stress more and Uber will also loose, but very little.

Uber and Riders do not have any car. they both depend on the drivers.
You as a driver, will you go online on taxify when you know its greener on Uber?
So nobody will on their Taxify app. Riders cant drive themselves they need drivers. when there are no drivers they open their Uber app

Drivers also depend on ride sharing App, and riders to make money Isn’t?
You drivers are dancing Between Uber and Taxify, so will riders dance between Uber and Taxify. Since Taxify offers cheaper ride, most riders will use Taxify. And that will Kick Uber out of business. There are hundreds of cars register with Taxify that are not listed in Uber, so if you ignore Taxify, many will not.
Don’t blame Uber for reacting, it’s normal in business.
When Uber came no competition with Taxify, drivers and owners are making it, why didn’t they remain loyal to Uber, why did they start having both Apps? Because you all are looking for better deal.
So will riders look for a better deal?

You may be right but I think it would amount to stupidity to drive for Taxify if Uber had retained their prices.

For me sha my car is off the road unless they revert their prices. Uber was cheap before they now made it ridiculously cheap.

Nigerians are too pessimistic.

new pricing doesn't mean anything. Uber did a feasibility study before implementing.

and they guarantee 1500/hr.

if you are online for 10 hrs and accepting requests and completing trips that is 15k.

I am currently averaging above that.

these people aren't fools.

This country is doomed can never be good. It's not a curse. Some of us are offline to prove a point. Some people are online taking advantage of the surge and still have no shame to say it openly that it's feasible.

Just continue, may The head of those that sacrifice ask you.

That 15k is in gross fares, your net will be ₦11,250. And there is every posssibility that you will be driving for that 10hrs cos there will back to back requests. More work on the car, more fuel, lesser money.

I will rather do back to back trips and drive for 10hrs with the old pricing. Trust me I will make well over the top up guarantee.

It's pure slavery

[quote author=nwayobuije post=56233833]thanks for ur response nifemi, but what about my drivers account? how do i get ratings n other stuffs if my drivers account isnt activated. the owner of the vehicle keeps calling... i went to uber alausa office bt was unable to do d screening test. is it possible to drive without an activated user accout? pls note i have done the registration on their site and vehicle owners contacted me through the site. i would appreciate another response. God blesd

Bro,have you written the test?.. If yes and you passed, you should be able to log into your uber account.. If you haven't written the test, then you need to do that first as you are not eligible to drive on the platform till you have taken the test and passed.. Ratings are based on rider's.. As they would be the ones to rate your performance after every trip you do..

I dont know what to say to you. Dont worry continue by 6 months time after you have added about 100000miles to your car and you need new engine and gear you will understand that just getting by is not business.
Nigerians are too pessimistic for fighting for their rights.

Even yellow cabs that dont offer tenth of the perks you offer will not charge this ridiculous price.

Google uber prices in mombasa and nairaobi kenya

The money you think you are making is due to surge. Let everybody come back and see if you will still make same money when surge ends.

Surge is when riders outnumber drivers.
The current surge is due to low numbers of drivers not a sudden increase in riders.
