seyewest: Hello. I told my little cousin's mum, my aunt about having a consent letter. Well she scanned her divorce paper issued by Ikeja high court which also granted her sole custody of my lil cousin. She also sent a consent letter with both her Ghana and Nigerian Address and both Ghana and Nigerian phone number becos she shuttles b/w Ghana and Nigeria. Is this ok? We all applied for passports and visas same time(with my lil cousin)..family of 5 and were issued. We were to go to Tx before but didn't make it. Now we are going for my younger's sis wedding in MD. We have so many traditional attires belonging to my sis, her hubby's family, and the family we were to visit in Tx before. U know everyone wants new natives when they see someone coming. We also have souvenirs with my sis and her hubby names printed on it...in fact that contains 2 boxes already. We have the photo album of their traditional wedding here too and video. We are taking all this along. We also have thr IV of the white wedding in the US. Our return tickets is 6 weeks cos we decided on a family vacation after the wedding because we may not have time to be together as a fimily in a long time again. Where we will stay all tru have already been put in place by my inlaws, and they will he picking us up. I am concerned about the length of stay cos of my lil cuz in particular. She is technically done with primary sch..but still going for basic 6 clases to while away time cos she has already been admitted in a secondary sch to resume jss1 later this year.hope we wont have issues because of her schooling in relation to length of stay? There will be practically no one home to even stay with her..besides its unfair to leave her behind while we go on vacation/wedding. Whats ur take? Others please contribute...we are to fly next week, wedding is the following week. Family of 5 includes me, my younger bro (we are both adults though) and my parents and my lil cousin. Dad is the main sponsor...cos he is the boss |

MrLP: You're well prepared and I'm not even sure they will bother about your lil cuz but if they do you know what to say and one more thing the CBP officer will delay you guys at the airport just to confirm what is in the box and try reduce the number of clothes you guys are taking... in short don't pack like you're planning to live in U.S for a year |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by MrLP: 8:17pm On May 07, 2017 |
seyewest: Lol. I swear those clothes are not even ours. I have to spread them across everyones bag....since we al have 23kg×2. Left to me.....my box for nor even reach the 23kg cos i have hand luggage. One more thing...whats the PTA advisable. We are 5. 4 adults and a kid. Does the 10k restriction apply to when we are in a group. Or individually |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by seyewest(m): 8:56pm On May 07, 2017 |
MrLP:You can all apply as an individual $4k for both of you maybe less than $4k for the kids maybe over $10k for the trip. |

Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Michoolu(m): 10:17am On May 08, 2017 |
duduobeche: Check up Travelstart.ng or wakanow.com for cheap flights. 1k in cash 5k in card my advise. Have it in cash and my advise why not rent an apartment which might be cheaper than an hotel. Finally is the amount with you exclusive of your accommodation cost? |

Pls Wen U Say U Have Cash At Poe Do They Check To Verify? Cuz My Aunt And Her Daughter Leave Tonite For New York. She Also Have Her Gtb Master Card because Her Family Prmz To Put Some Money On Wednesday Bt She Already Booked Her Flight? Pls Ans Needed Asap Ty |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by KaptainAfrika: 2:25pm On May 08, 2017 |
Oh boy! they will verify. Please let your aunt declare if she has amounts of money greater than or equal to $10,000. This include all currencies. They will convert it to dollars and sum it together. If they don't have a reasonable amount of money in cash and in the ATM card, they should wait and have that. Very important. esteeino13: |

KaptainAfrika:Thank U Do They Check Atm Card Too?maybe she should reschedule her flight? |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by KaptainAfrika: 3:37pm On May 08, 2017 |
They place a premium on cash at hand i.e. the cash you are holding...and determine if the money held, is enough, depending on where they are staying, how long they are staying and how many people are travelling. They usually don't check ATM cards. It would be better for them to get PTA it is easily available. She should probably reschedule the flight. esteeino13: 1 Like |

Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by seyewest(m): 4:28pm On May 08, 2017 |
duduobeche:If you've booked your flight you should google airmaroc if not still check the other airlines and age of planes they will be using... as for the amount make sure you've made accomodation arrangement before flying and the money is a bit small for 15 days make it like 2k. |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by seyewest(m): 4:36pm On May 08, 2017 |
esteeino13:And what if they check her ATM and find no money in the atm... is that not a problem? even if it's $500 she's holding she should declare it if they ask her. |

Finally in u.s, Turkish airline wan kill.me with food, naso i dey collect everything. Thanks to the big man upstairs, thanks to nairalanders(Oga seyewest) &Everyone... Arrived at p.o.e gorge bush airport, got to cbp, questions are below What's your purpose for visiting? Told them What do you do? Told them How long are you staying? Told them How much is with you? Naso lady shout escort!! I was subjected to secondary screening reason being when i got down from plane, was really tired, so i didn't answer her questions with full confidence, That made her put me in for secondary inspection.. Got to the cold room, was really shivering, my passport nd my phone was collected, my phones where latee given to me. Inside the room, after waiting for some minutes close to an hour, a white man called me, asked me the same questions all over and asked why i didn't travle with my grandma cos we went for the interview together, i told hime she was stronh so she couldn't fly. Passport got stamped, the white man apologised for putting.me in a cold place, he escorted me out nd i picked my bag nd went straight out.. Uncle was already waiting. Gotta rest.. Thanks everyone! Note- i went with ogbono and egusi soup, i just declared them, bag was checked nd i went my way. 3 Likes 1 Share |

please house i have a question.... i renewed my b1/b2 visa last year july and the purpose was to visit my family friend in new york..... i couldnt go at the time and now i'm planning my trip to chicago for august for vacation for 2 weeks.. do i need to send a change of intent/destination email? if yes, what email address can i send it to? thank you. |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Michoolu(m): 10:13am On May 10, 2017 |
orepet: Off you go no need to write any change of intent. People don't get to fly for may reasons. So no wahala if they ask why you didn't travel earlier just tell them tour reasons. #ComingToAmerica |

I"m keeping tracks too. Search everyday. Destination Chicago and ticket is almost 500k. I'm starting to think I should go thru JFK which cheaper and purchase onward return ticket from JFK to Chicago. Though I plan buying it here b4 leaving. Is this going to be an issue at the POE? |

Research also shows you can get cheaper tickets if you book very early ahead of travel date (weeks/months). Also, weekends attracts higher prices. Better book Tuesdays to Thursdays if you can. 3 Likes |
