Omeruo must up his game - Yobo Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, has urged Kenneth Omeruo to up his game to retain confidence of being included in the national team’s starting line up. Omeruo had been under severe criticism for defensive blunders that caused Nigeria the qualification for AFCON 2015 on the last match day as the Super Eagles struggled to 2-2 draw against South Africa in Uyo. Ever since, he had been a suspect in the right rear guard of the Super Eagles. But Yobo has urged the class of 2009 Golden Eaglets graduate to regain his form and confidence in order to retain his Super Eagles’ position. The Chelsea defender has had long loan spells in other European clubs even as Chelsea is considering offering him to Napoli in a prospective part-exchange deal for Kalidou Koulibaly. Currently featuring for Turkish side, Alanyaspor, Omeruo was sent off last weekend in his club’s 3-0 defeat to Kayserispor in a league match. Yobo said that Omeruo should begin to rebuild his career. “I pray he regains his confidence. It’s high time he proved his worth to Rohr. I am sure coaches watch video clips. He might have seen the past clips and errors made by the former Chelsea defender in Uyo. “All players are prone to defensive blunders. But Omeruo still needs to prove critics wrong. He should make the list of players that will confront the Bafana Bafana of South Africa next month. “ “He was red carded in his last league game for his club side which is not good enough but I see him regaining more confidence before the season runs out.” “I am sure; he will currently be working on his fitness so as to attract Rohr’s interest. I think he still needs to step up his form so as to erase his past mistake when called upon to confront South Africa,” the retired former Nigerian skipper said. I believe I have come across this read... But I will definitely get it again for my PDF library.... And yes, Home-schooling.... another masterpiece approach. You see, it is all about applying what can work and produce the best of results for us. So I am for both if also we look at kids who don't consider Schooling in an institution running with the coach carter concept.... Homeschooling gets a yes from me. I just wish many of us on this thread who hasn't seen the real-life story told in that movie, about the coach carter concept, can actually try see it... I promise it won't be a waste of time. And hey! Safarigirl... you shouldn't worry about any white cast domination... it is an all-black cast.... (I know you'll love that) Story told just as it happened for the most parts.... And yes, this is what I have saying all over the thread... Dynamism, Dynamism, Dynamism.... change... rapid change... limitlessness explored... boundlessness awoken.... We ought to just look into the horizons of all these and marry the concept and system that can work for our kids to enable them get the best and finest of both worlds... football(sports) and Good Education. Nosa Igiebor, Bright Edomwonyi On Song In Rizespor's 6-0 Win Nigeria international Nosa Igiebor opened his account for Rizespor in their 6-0 rout of Bursaspor on game week 30 in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday afternoon. On his tenth league appearance for Rizespor, the attacking midfielder closed the scoring with a powerful header from outside the six-yard box in the 90th minute. Nine minutes from time, teammate and ex-Flying Eagles invitee Bright Edomwonyi had tapped into an empty net to score the fifth goal for the home team. The former Red Bull Salzburg striker was named in the starting line-up along with Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona, while Nosa entered into the fray in the 82nd minute. The two Nigerian goalscorers joined Rizespor in the January transfer window. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=22968 1 Like |

And Owngoalnigeria's rival has this to say....... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zamalek Star Yusuf : Nobody Has Contacted Me About Super Eagles Call-Up Rumours that Zamalek star Maroof Yusuf has been called up to the Super Eagles squad for their friendly against Corsica on May 26 are wide of the mark. The 24-year-old has stated that he has not yet been contacted by manager Gernot Rohr or his lieutenants over an invitation to the national team, but he's willing to represent the country if he is called upon. ''Nobody has contacted me regarding the friendly between Nigeria and Corsica,'' said Yusuf to allnigeriasoccer.com . The friendly against Corsica will be played outside Fifa's international window, but the skillful midfielder hopes to make it to France by hook or by crook if he is considered by the coaching staff. ''Why not? I'll be able to make it to France if I am really invited. It is a very good opportunity for me.'' Nigeria's training camp in Corsica and Paris will run for eight days (May 23-31) and Zamalek will be involved in the CAF Champions League and Egyptian Premier League during that period. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=22967 |

safarigirl: The only form of education accepted in Nigeria and world wide is formal education. We all have talents and by luck that can take u to the top but at the end of the day my dear sister its all luck. We can't allow these children to depend on luck when there is a way out. People say they can go back to school like its so easy, how will u expect a 20 year old with no job and maybe even no place to stay to now go to school? Right now at a young age they can be instilled discipline. The structure of school, practice, home work, sleep will keep them out of trouble. This is why i cannot agree that they should be left to play while others are in class. The mere fact that others are in class means they must be there. Saying a university student would sign with 2 agents is debatable. The WAEC talk is just funny because the results comes out when the student leaves school so i don't get that one. |

Relieved Liverpool Loanee Awoniyi Reacts After Netting First Goal In European Top Flight Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi gave glory to the Almighty God after netting an 89th winner as NEC Nijmegen beat AZ Alkmaar 2-1 in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday afternoon. The Nigeria U23 international has been firing on all cylinders in the reserve league with five goals from six games, but has struggled to replicate those performances for the first team, so he was relieved to score today. ''I also had a very good feeling, but I was also happy for the team. Because it was an important goal for everyone, we won again and that was a long time ago,'' said Taiwo Awoniyi. ''God is the best in life. For everything that happens in my life I give him the glory. Whether it goes well or bad. But he helped me and the team today.'' Awoniyi, who picked up a booking for over-celebrating his first goal in the European top-flight, has 17 appearances to his name in the league. Despite their eighth win of the season, NEC are second bottom, with only one round before the end of the regular season. **Igho Kingsley Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=22969 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli:so all the 20-year olds with no job and no place to stay in Nigeria (because popsy has kicked them out after running away to play ball, and they have no relatives to rum to), dem no dey go school? Someone who has interest in school, will not allow such things deter him. We are talking of people who can cross desert if they must to play football and you think if their interest in school was as deep as what they have for footy, they won't succeed? I have seen people with NOTHING at age 30 and above return to school, is it a 20-year old that won't find his way? No be 20-year olds full government schools dey sponsor themselves? Lol @ your idea of University students, the musicians in Nigeria signing slave contracts, did they not go to University? What about the models doing same? Actors and actresses? You think they are all secondary school dropouts? Just because you know doesn't mean most of the student population know. Most Nigerians don't even think they need a lawyer when signing contracts. People still buy lands without getting lawyers, graduates with years of working experience. If you are debating that in Nigeria, then you must be living in that parallel universe as well Who wants to instill discipline in them? You? The NFF? At which young age? The best age to discipline a child is between 7-14, any kid past that age is hard to crack unless they want to. Your idea would suggest freezing out possible 16-year olds who weren't under NFF and didn't experience the system My suggestion is much better than whatever you're saying. Go to those streets and educate those boys, you must not send them to that concentration camp you call schools before they get educations 3 Likes |

Kayode be like, "Henry if u no wan stop scoring... me sef no go stop" ................................................................................................. Olarenwaju Kayode Nets Goal Number 21 Of The Season Super Eagles and Austria Wien forward Olarenwaju Kayode increased his goal tally to 21 for the season by scoring his side only goal in their 1-1 draw against Rheindorf Altach in the Austrian League. Kayode netted in the 39th minute to draw his side level before the half time break, his third goal in his last two games in the league for Austria Wien who are eyeing an European spot. The forward who made his debut for Nigeria in their last friendly game against Senegal in London, now has 14 goals in the league, two in the domestic cup and five in the Europa League before they crashed out. His tally of 21 goals makes him Nigeria’s leading marksman in Europe this season, and the second top scorer in the league two goals behind leading scorer Deni Alar who plays for Sturm Graz. 23 year old Kayode has grown in leaps and bounds since moving to Austria from Israeli side Maccabi Netanya just before the start of last season. Already he has bettered his last season tally of 13 goals with six games left to play in the league. **Osas Mahawi Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/05/07/olarenwaju-kayode-nets-goal-number-21-of-the-season/ 1 Like |

Red Hot Everton Target Onyekuru On Target Again, Takes Goal Count To 21 KAS Eupen Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru is showing no sign of slowing down on his goal rush this season after scoring in his team 1-2 loss to Genk in the UEFA Europa League playoffs in Belgium. 19 year old Onyekuru netted what ended as a consolation goal for his team in the 76th minutes to bring scores to 2-1, his 19th goal in the league this season. Onyekuru who is in his first season in the top flight Belgium now has 21 goals, with his other goals coming in the Belgium cup, a tally that has made him the target of most European teams. However English Premier League side Everton are the only team to have submitted a bid to Eupen, although teams like Southampton and West Brom are also rumoured to be on his chase. The Aspire Academy graduate is also on the radar of German side Borussia Monchengladbach, as well as Turkish side Fenerbache and Russian giants CSKA Moscow. **Osas Mahawi Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/05/07/red-hot-everton-target-onyekuru-on-target-again-takes-goal-count-to-21/ 1 Like |

safarigirl: Ur idea of the struggle is funny. How will u have time for school when ur have real world issues to attend to? Keep in mind this is someone that has never been in a classroom so where do u expect the urge of going to school to come from? I am glad u think musicians sign slave contracts but let me ask u this, ever heard of any of them signing 2 slave contracts? Why should we go in the streets when football will bring them to school? The last thing we should be talking about is children failing. This will bring out the best in the children. I don't get why u are against education, that is a human right. |
