you guys should stop this stereotype. the ease of global travel and communication means that we dont have to live in ignorance. i served in the north and i can tell you areas with the level of develoment like you have in chibok, have a good number of literate secondary school students. the fact that it is a boarding house means that there will be students there who travel from all parts of the country and have a good primary education.

Nigeria Military and Politically has never believed in that policy.
The US negotiated with the release of the Taliban for a Cowardly Deserter for the worst of the worst the Filthy Five of the Taliban.

The Niger delta guys are militants. When they kidnap the military moves in most of the time or men of the NPF mobile command / IRT are mostly used.

It's a different case if the kidnapped individual is of high profile. Negotiations takes place and most of these kidnappers get arrested or killed during shootout after ransom.

Most countries do secret negotiations to free their citizens from terrorists not much known to the public, but if a case is too widely publicized by media, same European or American government will say no negotiations. However if it is Trump's daughter or Queen of England's son, they will not only negotiate, they will also pay big cash ransom.
