What Christian On Nairaland Should Never Do. by ekensi01: 8:41pm On May 09, 2017 |
1. Never argue with people who think that christianity is a religion. 2. Keep away totally from Atheist. 3. Don't try to judge those that take christianity for a game. 4. Don't ever quote then when they say something annoying. 5. Always give then scriptural back if necessary. 6. Never follow then or allow then to follow you. 7. Anytime they question you don't show then a pastor show then Jesus. 8. Never have company with then. 9. Don't allow your lives to be forcus oh then less you fall. They're so many better watch out. A pastor is a human never boast of then, rather boast of Christ. What has light got to do with darkness? 3 Likes |

It is a common thing on nairaland here.Seriously a Christian should on no account rain curses or call people names, this is why I don't take some Christians serious,no matter how true their claims may be. You can make your claims known but not by exchanging words. |
Re: What Christian On Nairaland Should Never Do. by bennyann: 9:29am On May 10, 2017 |
Like seriously? Keep away totally from atheists? Many may not like this but sincerely I can't do that. I love them a lot especially for their sincerity. The problem I have with them is they tend to get angry or attack anything connected with what or who they don't believe exist. But seriously, with them around, I get to have different views and get to know how deep the world is with varying knowledge and what amuses me is how my love go deeper for God in all of those vast knowledge available. Dear, a time will come you might be the only one in your environment available who believes in God. What would you do then? Hide yourself and stay alone? Because definitely, more people will be added to the numbers of atheists and that's because in the last days, the love of many will wax cold. And another thing you should know is, in these generation, if you cannot stay with the atheists for some seconds, then there's a high tendency for you to easily lose your faith. When you stay with them for a while and hear all sorts of sayings that you even become so used to them and yet you're not moved, then it means there's hope for your faith. Besides, most of them I know here are loving to be with. Just try taking their childish rants against God away and you'll see how beautiful and loving they can be. This is not the time for Christians to hide in their closets all in the name of protecting their faith. It is time for your faith to be tried and that's another reason the atheists are there with us and they will grow more in numbers. The question is when your faith is tested, will you pass the test or you will run from it forgetting you'll live to fight another day? This is the time for faith testing not faith keeping or faith hiding. Whether you're a baby in the Lord or not, your faith will definitely be tested and atheism is one of them. Christians are to draw nearer to people and not to hide away from them. If the atheists are not running from us, why should we run from them? The love of Jesus can only be reflected when we get in contact with people no matter who they are. Wherever you are, strengthen your faith and work it out because this is not the time to run away from people. The end times call for drawing nearer to people and make them see the reflection of Christ in us. So personally, I doubt if I can stay away from them. Besides some of them have wonderful characters you hardly see in our believing brethren. And one thing I like about them is they're willing to believe in God, only if He proves Himself in a way to make them believe. To me that's a score to settle between them and God. And I believe since the willingness is there, God will do something about it in His own way. For us the believers, we have to do all we can by His grace to make sure we're not the first that will be last before it's too late. Saying all that, we all know our strength. So let's go by what our faith can carry. But after all the do's and don'ts, we are to hearken to the prompting or voice of the Spirit. That reminds me of the story between Peter and Cornelius in the book of Acts 10 & 11 6 Likes 3 Shares |

BennyAnn, Sister I saw this thread the other day and was gonna comment on exactly what you did. See...you are a blessed young lady. You really hit the nail on the head. I'm truly saddened by the behavior of some of the Christians...here on NL. While many of us are on here picking specific doctrinal points (which many are confused and wrong about) and debating from morning till evening, we are lacking Christ' character. Where's the Fruit of the Spirit? I keep hammering in the point about balance & practicality. Yes....doctrine is important. But even moreso is the spirit that motivates sharing the gospel. If no one talks to the "Free-Thinkers", then who will? A lot of us are repelling them with our prideful, critical and condemnatory behavior ( while we ourselves are battling secret "sins". That humble, loving, compassionate spirit is really missing in here with some Christians...and it's so sad. May some of us truly do self-introspections & ask Christ to transform us. 2 Likes |

Although, am a Muslim and I know that probably no one will give me company like the OP said. Seriously, some of the Christians on Nairaland are to be blamed for any bad thing that happens to the other Christians. Many of them are fond of criticizing the Muslims and the atheists openly. In return, they will fire back with things you may view as blasphemous, irritating or annoying. No insults xha# |

ekensi01: So who will preach to the atheists? Who will win their souls when all you want to do is run from them and avoid them like plaques? Bennyann, I like the part where you said "And one thing I like about them is they're willing to believe in God, only if He proves Himself in a way to make them believe." -This is very true 2 Likes |

As christians we shouldn't run from atheists. Like bennyann said, we are to draw close to them and show them the love of christ by our words and actions (though I've failed so many times in that regard) but that is because I was not able to stand some of their incessant insults against the most high and I often lost it and clapped back. That being said, the atheists are there for a purpose and that is to test or strengthen our faith. Contrary to the opinions of many who said NL atheists made them lose their faith, these NL atheists actually helped strengthen and shape my faith. I already knew God was real due to the many proofs I had seen firsthand throughout my lifetime , so their talks couldn't break me but rather it molded and shaped me and right now my faith is rock solid. |

Amberon: You aren't the only one that has failed oo. The only person who almost twisted me in that aspect was HardMirror. And I wish I can just give him a knock on his head right now for that. ( HardMirror ) But when we know who our God is and we also remember who He is in that annoying situation, I bet you, we will just smile and laugh it off. And that comes naturally because we know whom we serve. It doesn't change a thing about God. And as you know, this God is am amazing God because He doesn't ask us to fight for Him or get angry on His behalf. . Infact, He frowns at that. We're only to be each other's keeper. God knows how He sees them. He knows if they have a soft spot for Him and if they're really waiting to hear from Him. God loves them so much and He knows how to handle them. He knows their beginning and all their tomorrows. He knows the turn their last minute on earth will take. They might think they're mocking Him but I bet you, God sees it in a different way. Personally, I believe some of them are doing that to get His attention by fire by force And I love the part where you talked about your unshakable faith. May God sustain us in Him to the very end. Amen! 1 Like 1 Share |

I know what being a christian is and those here only think because they go to church, they are also christians. ekensi01: That's true. We really need heavenly back up. But wouldn't it be nice if you see yourself like Daniel in the midst of the babylonian priests and all that, yet his faith was unshakable? What about the thought of Joseph in the midst of Egyptians? If we have more Christians like that, then nairaland won't be a problem. I understand you but the reason I'm going this way is because I'm tired of feeling that every Christian is still a baby and so has to be fed with milk but for how long? If we can't take nairaland and the atheists away, isn't it wise to concentrate on strengthening our faith? That's the best victory weapon above all other advice or doctrines. And you know what? The love of God, the love for God and the love for our neighbors make it easy for our faith to be firm in Christ. It seems that's the secret weapon I've found. And I'll say this again. In all, let's go by what our faith can carry. But we should get ready our faith because we do not know the storm that we can't escape. Every faith has their own inevitable storm. |

ekensi01:Here is another clown that thinks he is a christian. Well, I don't blame him. Christianity has been reduced to "Happy time hour", where everyone gathers in church (modified club) and the choir makes them feel good, then a motivational speaker aka pastor, comes and excite everyone, then they all pay good money for the entertainment. While the con man shouts and commands god to bless the idioots gathered. Everyone shows off their best cloths, shoes and cars, boys meet girls and they all go home and continue to live in sin, never concerned about eternal things, but money, money money. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

ekensi01:This is nothing but egoism. What is so special about nairaland? What should those who were killed for Christ say? What useless backup from heaven do you need as a christian on nairaland. This is how you know those who don't know what christianity is. No one can harm you here, yet you are giving excuses, your type wld have failed christ if you were one of the apostles, because, those were times you pay with pain and death for preaching but just to preach online, you are asking for special heavenly backing. Only stvpid people will see sense in what you are saying. When I said there are no christians here, I knew what I was saying |

Good Topic and Good responses. But sincerely, this is not a one cap fits all scenario. Both op and Bennyann are right in their perspectives. My dears, Jesus relationship to each individual isnt general but specific cos he knows man's intentions. Recall John's response to the Pharisees and Saduccees that came to his baptism...Instead of being happy they were yielding to repentance, he rebuked them. There are apostates and no matter how much love you possess and prayer you make, they would never be converted...You cant love a soul more than God the creator. If an apostate would by his comment, character, conversation dissuade the simple from the message of the truth, he has to be stopped. Christs Soldiers are not only to preach and show love, they must protect both the Truth and Sheep. Read Pauls epistles to Timothy and Titus and see the charge he gave them comcerning the false doctrines and false prophets and how much commitment to stopping them. Read Peters response to Simon the magician who wanted to buy the Holy Ghost after he had confessed to Phillips preachin. Read Pauls rebuke of Bar Jesus/ Elymas when he would hinder other from hearing the Word. My dears, love the sinners not the enemies of the Cross, not God haters, not the Anti Christs, not demons, not False Prophets, not men who insults God and pervert the truth. They must be rebuked, stopped, hindered from projecting errors that may lead million to Hell. You dont lose 100 souls to save one you are not sure of...Keep the ones in the fold while you chase more. If an atheist will twist scriptures to dissuade the simple, you dont show love but anger, he has to stopped, rebuked, silenced! I wont allow 10 souls lost to save one....Amen!!!! In all, Divine Wisdom is what we should all beg for. May God give us all Divine Wisdom!!!! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: What Christian On Nairaland Should Never Do. by bennyann: 8:52am On May 11, 2017 |
enshy: You're very right enshy. We won't watch them corrupting God's word and not correct it. But those we're feeding with milk, when are they going to be fed with bones. This is not an ordinary battle ground. My focus is to prepare the mind of Christians for anything here and not to be dissuaded by all that goes on here. I've realized the religion section is a training ground for Christians. If you can't stand the training here online, then where will you be able to stand? This is a place that you yourself get to know where you are, your level of faith in God. You get to know if you're firm or not. I'm not saying we shouldn't correct the misconceptions of the Word here. But I have to let the Christians know that they'll get it tough henceforth and you have to be ready. Will our anchor hold in the storms of life? For how long will you spoon feed them? What if they go out to a place you aren't there? I was brought up staying indoors, not even going for youth meetings in church all because my dad believes he is protecting me and he feels the youths are corrupt. I'm not from a wealthy family but each time I'm to go out to a place like the market, someone I call a bodyguard has to go with me because he is trusted by my parents or my dad may go with me. I knew nowhere even till now, I don't go to friends' houses, they rather come to mine. But a time came I had to go to school and it was outside the country, within the continent though. Can you imagine such freedom for the first time in my life? I could have done anything I wanted to do and have all the experiences I never had. But the love for God kept me because it will hurt me real bad if I disappoint Him. And that's because all those times I spent at home, I spent them mostly with Him. I'm ashamed to say this, I may not know the word as I should but I had a strong relationship with Him. And the love grows more each day. And by His grace, I don't think anything can take me away from Him and I believe that's the convenant He made with me and that's because I pray such prayers ever since I was like a baby. But I experienced things I've never experienced, saw things I've never seen and the curiosity grew in me to know more about such things. It's at this stage that most people like me fall because we're new to such. But God kept me and I became so use to seeing them that they have no effect of wanting to know more about them or wanting to see them more. It's been God And you know, it's normal to see many people change when they are away from their family. They become something else. I saw a lot of them like that and how they coil back to their shell when they get home. So what I've learnt is, when I have my own children, I will train them in the fear of God but also let them know and if possible see the happenings in the world, especially the strange ones. This will help them to be more than prepared when they go out there and ready for them. Most times they won't even be moved by them. It makes it easier. You'll agree with me we're in times where the best weapon is faith training and not faith hiding. The earlier we're exposed to some things, the better for faster recovery. Besides, I also ended with of course every one should go by what their faith can carry but let's remember we're not the ones to determine the kind of storm that comes our way. The storm comes from its source and try our faith and we can never escape a storm trying faith. What do they do then when the storm comes and you aren't there? And about getting angry, I have my own way of showing my anger towards anything ungodly. Everyone with their own ministry. I have to only make sure I don't sin in my anger, all in the name of getting angry for God or on behalf of the babies in Christ. The enemy himself will face more of the anger in my prayer zone. Talking about rebuking, that's my favorite when it comes to correction. After all, God does same with His children. Moses is my second favorite after Job in the Bible but I felt God should have been a little patient with him because he was almost perfect. But you know what? I don't want to annoy God by getting angry all because of murmurings all over nairaland. I want to be like Joseph and how he survived in Egypt, I also want to be like Daniel and how he worshiped His God in the midst of the babylonians, infact in the house of the babylonians, just as we're in the house of Seun - the atheists. May God see us through, use our individual gifts to draw souls on nairaland to Himself and may He also give us the grace to win the race. Amen! And as you also said, may He give us the wisdom we need to sail through all for His glory. |
