I have picked my passport today and it was a refusal. bt I was given an opportunity of administrative review. How long does this take when I submit more proofs, Why was I given an administrative review option? Does it require some charges pls and how much??

Good day House,

Please, I want to apply for a visiting visa. I plan to visit in late June or early July
for 10days.

I have two options:

1. A friend of mine who is resident/citizen(but from Nigeria) in the Uk wants to send an invitation letter.
OR
2. I apply on my own.
Whether I apply on my own or not, I will stay in the hotel for the 10days...eventhough I have the option of staying
in my friend's house, which I do not want to choose.

NOTE: I work with a well recognized international organization and my salary is far above 200k. I also have a company that does a business which is not very regular(contract). I am also a published author and also have another soon-to-be published literary book.

Please, do you think I should apply own my own or go with my friend's offer to send an invitation letter.
What documents do I need

Simply means that your passport was not sent to Sheffield along with other documents. Is your application a renewal?

AR means that you can send a letter to the Application Centre, for them to review their judgement. You are given the opportunity to address the issues raised by the ECO in your refusal letter if the ECO erred. You can also submit any additional document to support your position why the ECO erred in refusing your application. AR is free.

I'm just wondering he once mentioned a while ago that he overstayed for 9 months - I do not know about this whole thing and the way it works but I know the application is being delayed because he overstayed a while ago and you mentioned it yourself that the someone said you would probably get a year ban. Like I said - I do not know about this but just give them time to go through the application. P.S: The Internet never forgets. You asked the question below a while ago

@gg4real - Hello Gurus in the house, I had a two years UK visa which has expired. I used this visa twice and on the last occassion, i mistakenly over stay for a period of 9months and at the point of exit, the officer told me that I will only be given a punishment of 1yrs ban but I have not apply since my return two years ago.

My question now is that If I apply now, is there possibility that I will be given the punishment now or it has already pass since I havent apply since two years ago. Also, if I apply, do I stand any chance of getting the visa again?"

Thanks @Missoredipe for this reminder. The dude 9 months overstay has come back to hunt him. Certainly this is a refusal and they are keeping the passport to check out what he was doing for 9 months in the U.K.

Pls I want to apply for a 6 months work visa from Nigeria, do I need a tuberculosis test? From UK visa and immigration website, they stated that tb test is needed from people applying for visas that last longer than 6 months. Since mine is just a work visa for 6 months, I don't need a tb test right?

Hello @justwise and co., I submitted my visa application online last week for Tier 2 General visa application. The agency recruiting me paid for my IHS but the payment has not reflected on my online page.
Please can I cancel the application? And if I do will the money be refunded back to the agency?
