Apart from some highlights, I have not seen him play.

We have seen players shine in the lower leagues but unable to cut it in the premier league.

At this point, i will invite him to an under 20/23 side instead of the national team. There are several players ahead of him in his role. Onyekuru, Samuel Kalu etc are yet to be given a look in.

There are quite a few players if they dropped from the EPL would be complete waste men and be totally anonymous. So it can work both ways.

Again I am a bit surprised, I truly appreciate your contributions. But too presumptuously say Onyekuru and Samuel are ahead of him is not the normal analytical you. Particularly as you admit you have not seen him play or made any assessment on his attributes.

Finally watch this space I expect to see Onyedinma in the premiership next season.

I have seen him play a few times, he hasn't been overly impressive.

He was brought in under the watch of the deals man Derek Langley, thank the heaven he has left now.

He really needs to break in to the first team, before we can call him a top prospect. Man U is not like Chelsea where there are a lot of top international players ahead of him.

So that's why little has been said about him.

He spent most of his career in the lower divisions of spain and has been released now. He is a free agent.

Being in the lower divisions of Spain is not good even the football is abysmal.

Please we need players that will contribute to our WC and AFCON qualifications either on the pitch or from the bench. It is not as if we do not have a team in place. We have a team already and any player that is coming in now must add value.


The coaching crew is doing what it can to secure the ones that are AVAILABLE and WILLING to represent Nigeria. And Rohr is not just inviting just to snatch them from England as you put it. He is inviting them based on necessity of using them to fix any position(s) we are lacking depth. That is the adding value I am talking about. For eg Aina and Ebuehi would definitely add depth and options to the defense. But what value will someone like Onyedinma add to the midfield? Remember we still have a lot of young AM/Wingers that have not even been considered. Eg Samuel Kalu, Henry Onyekuru, Obinnna Nwobodo(scored a brace today at away Gombe), Kelechi Nwakali.

If Rohr needs any player whether foreign born or locally born he will invite. If the player is not part of his plans/program then no invitation. Not just because we want to snatch them from England.

I probably have in my network about 100 Nigerian origin players and that's not what they are saying too me.

This is Nigeria do you know the amount of scheming and manipulation that goes on behind the scene.

We invited a non league defender and a 18 yr old striker who has not really smelled the first team of average poor performing Sunderland. An 18 year old who is far from the top 20 Nigerian origin youth players in the UK.

Yet Aluko, Onyedinma, Ojo, Onomah, Tony Aghayere, (goalkeeper Burnley fc U23) Ovie, Akpan, too be honest there are too many to mention, etc, etc were not even invited for a chit chat.

Firstly Rohr cannot do everything by himself he will steel need to rely on advisers from the NFF. That's when all the Maradona moves will start too take place.

Where Nigeria is concerned we know we can not make assumptions about credibility and Fair-Play, let's be real.

See, every year talented young Anglo-Nigerian players will be springing up. So also are Nigerian youth internationals. We can only invite those that fit into the team's program now and going forward.

It's apparent you are not familiar with the situation and social cultural environment that our players have to contend with.

Consider Dele Alli came to Nigeria at about 10 years old with his Dad. His mother was an alcoholic his Father left him and his mother. Dele Alli was taken into social care and placed with foster parents.

Meanwhile his Father had remarried gone to USA and effectively abandoned him. What do you expect him to think of his father and Nigeria.

Now I know Ovie, Ojo, Akpan, Onomah, Anichebe and after others keep the Nigerian flag flying at home. Bit not all children have that privilege.

Honestly a lot of Nigerian fathers are failing thier children for whatever reason. Jordan Ibe was brought up by a wonderful Jamaican step Dad his Ibo father know where to be seen.

This means that Nigerian collectively, individually and the NFF partnering with High commission has to engage these Children and introduce Nigeria to them.

This year I connected a 29 year old Nigerian mixed race lady to her Onitsha based father that she has never seen in her life. Amongst other things I made two trips in the last 8 months about this to Nigeria. This highlights the issues to some degree that Nigerian origin players can face.

There are other things I do to connect footballers to Nigeria. To show Nigeria in a positive light is part of my personal responsibility by deed, actions and thought.

Finally unfortunately we have Nigerian who were born on bred in Nigeria and have nothing good to say about Nigeria. This does not help matters.

I know Barkley and I know his mixed race Dad.

His Father is more or less an alcoholic had a Nigerian sailor Father that never really imputed much into him. His understanding of Nigeria is wishy washy and his son Barkley been brought up predominantly by a white mother can't teach him much either.

So you see the problem is really about the failings of sadly Nigerian father's to thier children not the children.

We need to have some empathy and sensitivity in engaging these boys and linking them to thier Fathers land.

We have 5th generation Jews in England who show allegiance first to Isreal and even do national service in the armed forces. With the potential to loose thier lives. Consider how Isreal engages it's hugely influential diaspora population, something to think about.

The LMC should put the games on NTA at least until they can secure a deal. This will also boost their brand in the process and give them a chance to show people why they should invest. The league and players will lose credibilty as long as they stay off TV. Odey was the talk of the internet simply because all 14 of his goals are on tape.

If it helps you sleep well, it was probably early 2016 or so, all I know is that it was after the 2014 World Cup. I don't keep inconsequential dates in my head like that.

I think snubbing of aluko started during the reign of oliseh through his policy of only calling players playing in top leagues and not in lower divisions
he deliberately omitted the young man and hope akpan with this policy.
aluko was fast getting recognition in Nigeria albeit the introduction of these foolish policy by oliseh...

and presently... he is being omitted because rohr has not noticed him...coupled with the fact the German is not a fan of the English football..
his invitation I believe rest on the shoulders of other backroom SE staffs...should they make mention of him to rohr I believe he won't turn it down...

I believe any player who wanna get into the SE now....should prove better than the current paraded players or offer something currently lacking in the team... especially in attack and midfield rolesa

Through official sources, German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 have announced that they will end their collaboration with Germany international Dennis Aogo at the end of this season.
Aogo has been released by The Royal Blues along with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Phili Neumann, Timon Wellenreuther, Holger Badstuber and Sascha Riether.
The management of Schalke 04 made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday, ahead of this weekend's clash against Aogo's former team Hamburger SV.
Now 30, Aogo revealed that he was approached by the Nigeria Football Federation to represent the Super Eagles in the months leading up to the 2010 World Cup but he rejected their advances.
Aogo explained : ''When I heard Nigeria wanted me for the World Cup, I had to really think about it. I hesitated because Nigerians won't recognize me as a true African, it's a totally different culture from what I am used to in Germany.
''I know many Africans who were born in Europe are now playing for African teams but they are not regarded as locals.''
The left wing-back lists FV Grünwinkel, Bulacher SC, Karlsruher SC, Waldhof Mannheim and SC Freiburg among his former clubs.

You make a lot of sense. To me, the home based players should prove their worth in the CHAN Super Eagles first before getting an invite.

The only issue I have with the list Rohr released was the omissions of Henry Onyekuru and Emmanuel Daniels. I would've loved to see those two get a look in now, because we might need them for the future.

as a Nigerian based in Hannover, Germany. I can tell you that sareren-bazee is a great player. I watch him almost every week and for me he's just as good as Sané. he might not score alot of goals but he has other qualities like pace, dribbling and he gives alot of assists too.
I don't really know much about Tyrone but I think he's also good too.
I thinks those NFPL players are just overhyped , these players aren't really good technically, you can tell from the way they play on TV and even their poor performance outside the country in caf tournaments.
I think the best players are the ones abroad. forget odey we've got kayode and kelechi , They are much better , probably when they go abroad they might learn enough to be good enough for the national team.
as for onyekuru's snub, I think rohr is right too. onyekuru does not play in the best of leagues . so he'll have to prove his consistency for another season to prove he's good enough for the national team so he does not end up like the likes of Peter utaka and co.

people might also want to prove me wrong about what I said about home based players with the likes of oboabona mba and co. but I must say that their performance especially in afcon 2013 was mainly because of the late Stephen keshi's tactical genius. you can tell by looking at where they are today
