I never heard such before.. Read and enlighten yourself with different perspectives.

Enjoy this read: https://www.quora.com/Why-do-some-white-people-like-to-tan-so-much

my dear, I don't need to read that. I have read enough to know of that perspective.

Most girls would date a darker guy over a lighter one. #FACT.

The black man is seen as masculine over the white man #Fac

The black race is the most virile race according to most #Fact

Surprised you don't know of these tiny facts.

That is just one site, there are a ton to support the masculinity of the black man, but once again, I can't start searching Google for these things. It is acculated knowledge

That's why you will keep sticking to your way of thinking. That link throws different perspectives. you are stuck to your ways based on the belief where you were raised most likely. Open you mind to other perspectives

Firstly, you cannot say ... is seen..and then say it's a fact. It's a generalization held NOT by all. How could that be factual? You are not logical my sister. I won't continue with you.

"Most girls would date a darker guy over a lighter one. #FACT" you call this a fact?... SMDH

Safarigirl I'm sure the Super Falcons was not in question when you brought up the issue of lighter is better. See how you have contradicted yourself in the argument. Know that where you live is just a small area of the entire world, hence some of your generalizations are rather localized, past down from colonialism.

Nigerian players are everywhere. I watched a game of a Nigerian left back in Lithuania, a graduate of the Aspire Academy. 20 year old Alma Wakili. He even scored.

A player like that would probably be better playing at home instead of where they can never be found but financial considerations are important.

@joebie is it my "lighter is better" comment that had you so worked up?

Jeez! Ig you don't understand something, just say it without jumpingb he gun.

It was a joke, I was teasing the black man's belief that "white is right", it was a mockery of the need to worship lighter skinned people. I don't actually believe such bull, I'm not an idiot.

You can't lecture me on race and why the black race is better or the media's white-washing of everything, I am wayyy ahead of you on that. I don't even watch movies with an all white cast, so no, I am not one of those self-hating negroes.

What did my comment have to do with you liking darker skinned girls sef? You think you like them more than me?

Abeg ehn, next time, stop trying to lecture me on black people. Just ask for clarification.

And i repeat, BLACK MEN are the MOST ATTRACTIVE of all races. #FACT.

Anybody that does not know that black men are the most attractive men to all races does not have a grasp on race matters fully.

The dominant species in Africa, is the black race. And no, Arabs are nowhere as virile as black men, especially not the Arabs in Africa. That is a title held by onlnthe black race be they in Africa, North America or the Carribeans.

This argument is dead. You can't make a fact out of this. And I don't care how many of u came together and talked about the issue here on vintage nairaland smh. It's very untrue that black males are the most sort after by all females. Speak for your locality. Have u even travelled to experience other cultures? Let me give u one good advice and it's the same advice I give gullible Americans who don't care to travel out of the 48 inland states. You will never be enlightened until you travel and see. Opinions of different cultures can never culminate in one universal fact. As much as I'm black and just because I believe black is aytractive dont mean I can make a universal fact out of it. You need a lesson in logic and critical thinking. I wonder if it's taught in Nigeria. But some people will never learn especially if they already assume they know all. I've learned more in life from others perspective because this world we live in is very diverse.

Well one thing is certain. I can't get back this valuable time wasted. I will ignore you henceforth.

Paul Onuachu: The Target Man who's reinventing the role

The Nigerian has been in prolific form for the Wolves, leading to suggestions of an imminent Super Eagles call-up.

The advent of modern football has brought about a series of changes to the sport, with managers, players and fans now seeing things differently to how they perceived them decades ago.

Target men are a dying breed, as head coaches have slowly moved away from the old-fashioned big man up front to strikers with slighter frames.

In Jutland, Denmark, a certain Paul Onuachu is seemingly changing the narrative, however, with his brilliant displays for Midtjylland this season, delighting fans at the MCH arena with his remarkable goalscoring feats.

Some might remember him from his giant-killing display against Manchester United in the Europa League in 2016, when he scored the winning goal in the last-32 first leg tie, helping the hosts to a 2-1 triumph.

However, while that strike may well rank as the biggest of his career to date, it’s his prolific form in the current campaign that’s returned him to the fore and set tongues wagging.

Since late February, the forward has eight goals in 10 top flight outings, with his goals throughout the campaign propelling the Wolves into the top six during the regular season as Midtjylland chase a Europa League place.

What’s particularly impressive is the level of consistency that 22-year-old Onuachu has managed this season, regardless of his youth and relative inexperience.

His form in the current campaign hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr, with recent reports suggesting the German tactician is monitoring the forward’s displays.

A call-up to the national team may be likely in the near future, even if the powerful frontman has been overlooked from Rohr’s recently named squad.

The former Burkina Faso trainer has demonstrated a willingness to trial fresh talents and give new faces their opportunities in recent months—hotshots Olanrewaju Kayode and Isaac Success made their debuts against Senegal—while Rohr’s desire to build a squad around a core of young players means that Onuachu has a profile that suits Nigeria’s new revolution.

A few keen observers may feel having a target man in the squad could potentially defeat Rohr’s philosophy of vibrant attacking football with an ethos on intricate passing in the final third which requires nimble-footed players to implement.

However, it gives the manager another tactical option and an alternate style of play if the initial plan of playing on the deck isn’t working as expected.

Pretty football is appreciated by all, but what about when that doesn’t work?

Having a big striker in the Super Eagles squad will offer variety when a less direct approach fails. Having such an option off the bench—and particularly one who has been finding the net with such regularity—can only be valuable asset for the West African giants.

Of course, most physically imposing strikers may not offer excellent off-the-ball movement, but they do provide an outlet which the team can utilize when under pressure.

If you can’t play out from the back, go route one to the big man to hold up the play and bring others into the game.

Ultimately, winning football matches still remains the goal and even though there’s talk of “winning the right way”, mixing things up won’t hurt in the slightest.

Onuachu’s form for Midtjylland has certainly caught the eye, and with a few of the Super Eagles forwards either lacking in playing time—think Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi—struggling for form—Isaac Success [above]—or both–Ahmed Musa—a spot might just open up for the gigantic forward in the Nigeria squad.

Onuachu has refined the role of the target man at his Danish club this season, but has he done enough for Rohr to give him a call?

CAF boss fears AFCON could be killed by CHAN

by Phumzile Ngcatshe

CAF president Ahmad Ahmad has raised concerns that the Africa Cup of Nations tournament could be overshadowed by the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The new president was speaking in a meeting on Monday ahead of the FIFA Congress on Thursday, 11 May.

Ahmad also stated his reasons why he turned down a salary offer from the continental football governing body.

"I've refused a CAF salary for the simple reason it doesn't respect good administration," he told BBC Sport.

"The salaries of all Caf employees, from administrators to the executive committee and president, all have to be transparent."

Meanwhile, the boss added that the popularity of their flagship tournament (AFCON) is in danger of being overshadowed by the CHAN, which is for locally based players.

"The symposium will be made up of representatives from all parts of African football so we can discuss what we are going to do in all the competitions – AFCON, CHAN, the youth tournaments and the women's events," he explained.

"We need to take into account their situation. We must ensure that the Nations Cup doesn't destroy their careers.

"So we are going to review all of that and we will take a decision that suits everyone so that this competition is valued again and attracts more resources and attract bigger audiences in Africa."

The BBC website reports that the symposium will be held in Morocco on 15-16 July 2017 and will be followed by a CAF Executive Committee the next day to discuss the implementation of the main resolutions of the symposium.

Ahmad also wants to look at the re-investment of CAF resources to aid the development of football across the continent, stressing that "CAF is not here to make money to enrich itself."

FIFA Appoints Lagos Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Ayotunde Phillips Into Ethics Committee

By Augustine Akhilomen

Lagos State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Ayotunde Phillips has been appointed by the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) into the highly respected FIFA Ethics Committee on Thursday.

This is a big achievement for Nigeria considering the fact that he'll be the first judge in the country to be appointed by the world governing body and also a plus for Africa football.

Currently the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Phillips’ election was ratified by the congress of FIFA at its 67th Congress in Manama, Bahrain on Thursday. This is further evidence of the rising profile of Nigeria in International Football circles as shown by the recent appointments of the NFF President into important CAF and FIFA roles.

The new FIFA Ethics Committee (Adjudicatory Chamber) is headed by Vassilios Skouris (Greece), the longest –serving President of the European Court of Justice. Fiti Sunia (American Samoa), a Judge and former Attorney General of American Samoa, is deputy chairman.

Other Members are Mohammad Ali Al Kamali (United Arab Emirates: Asia), Aivar Pohlak (Estonia: Europe), Margarita Echeverria (Costa Rica: North and Central America and the Caribbeans), Jack Kariko (Papua New Guinea: Oceania) and Flavio Zveiter (Brazil: South America).

Rohr Provides Update On Mikel’s Injury & Chances Of Playing Against South Africa

The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has provided an update on the injury condition of the captain of the Nigeria senior national team John Obi Mikel.

Mikel underwent surgery in England to cure a long standing health issue, and as exclusively reported by this portal, he is set for a two months spell on the sideline which could rule him out of the game against South Africa.

Nigeria will take on South Africa on the 10th of June in Uyo in their first AFCON 2019 Qualifiers and according to Rohr, Mikel stands a 50-50 chance of been fit for the game.

” At the moment he stands a 50-50 chance of playing against South Africa, but he will be fully fit for the game against Cameroon which to me is great news because we need our captain for a game of the magnitude “, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Mikel’s presence will no doubt lift the spirit of the team and the players against Cameroon, if he is not fit for the game against South Africa, we have other players who can do the job in his absence”.

Hannover 96 German-Nigerian forward Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee has finally secured his Nigeria international passport, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The 20 year old Hannover 96 forward has difficulties in securing a Nigerian passport, and almost played his first international game for Nigeria against Senegal in a friendly with a German passport before injury, before injury forced him out of the tie.

Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr also expressed his unhappiness over the difficulties some players born abroad have faced in their bid to secure a Nigerian passport, after switching allegiance to Nigeria.

However Sarenren Bazee has been issued a Nigerian passport, which gives him the all clear to represent Nigeria in international games, with the AFCON 2019 clash against South Africa looming.

Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that the forward who is in line to train with the Nigerian team in their camp in France, and probably play in the friendly against Corsica got his Nigerian passport few weeks ago.

Man City Insider – How Guardiola Destroyed The Confidence Of Iheanacho

Highly informed Manchester City insider Simon Bajkowski says Manchester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho should leave the club permanently this summer.

Iheanacho has not featured regularly for City this season as manager Pep Guardiola prefers other strikers ahead of the Nigerian, who signed a new contract till the summer of 2021 nine months ago.

Bajkowski believes the manager played a role in stifling the 20 year old, who has been severally shut out of the matchday squads this season, and looks set to end the season with fewer starts and goals than last year, when many felt former manager Manuel Pellegrini ‎was holding him back.

“In January, his absence from squads was explained by saying City hadn’t created many chances “for this kind of player”, he wrote in his column.

“In short, Guardiola doesn’t value what the 20-year-old can offer, Yaya Toure has forced his way back into the team, Aleks Kolarov and Jesus Navas have surprised in new positions and Fernandinho has popped up in most areas of the pitch.

“That has not happened with Iheanacho despite absences for Aguero and Jesus, which suggests a permanent move would be better for him than a loan.

Better for the player to take his talent elsewhere to a team that does suit his playing style. A clinical finisher, Iheanacho should not have a problem finding a top team”.

Rohr Rules Ikeme Out Of Bafana Bafana Tie, Throws Challenge To Akpeyi, Alampasu & Ezenwa

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has ruled out first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme from the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa next month.

Ikeme missed the concluding part of the season for English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers due to an injury, and Rohr confirms that the shot stopper will not be fit for the game against South Africa.

Nigeria will start the journey to the next Africa Cup of Nation with a clash against South Africa on June 10 in Uyo, but will have to do so without their first choice shot stopper according to the coach.

” Ikeme won’t make it for the South Africa game. He is still injured and won’t be fully fit for the game against South Africa. We don’t see it as a problem because we have other goalkeepers who can come in and do well”, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” We hope to have him back for our game against Cameroon in September and not for the South Africa game. The three goalkeepers we have in the team all have a chance of keeping goal in Uyo”.

I’m Different From Other Super Eagles Striker – Olarewaju Kayode

Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Olarewaju Kayode says he believes he will bring something different from other strikers to the attack of the Super Eagles.

The striker made his debut for Nigeria against Senegal in a friendly game last month, and his performances earned him another call up to the team for ‎their training camp in France.

Speaking in an exclusive chat the 23 year old Austria Wien forward who has 14 goals in all competitions this season said he is ready to provide that different flavour the Super Eagles need.

” I will say my chances of making the team‎ for the South Africa game after the friendly against Corsica is high, simply because I am in my best shape ever”, Kayode said.

” I’m different from other strikers in the team. Our different style will work well for the good of the team, that is my aim. I love to play as a central striker ‎but I also can operate from the flanks.

” It’s all for the team I will adapt to any role, and I promise to give my best, for the good of the team in our games if am selected by the coaches”.
