I am looking to buy my first car and budget is 900k. I'm considering a Yaris 07 (manual) and Avensis (04 - 08 auto?. Modern look and ease of maintenance are my priority. Other suggestions are welcome.

I just made a stupid purchase! i got a camry 07 automatic with a truck load of issues, the car jerks when i put the transmission on D. we ran a diagnosis, and it showed like 12 results inclusing 02 sensor, knock sensor, low transmission fluid etc, but it wont speed up, and wont go beyond gear 3 or so. a mechanic said it needs an additional ECU (brainbox) that the brain box on the car is working well with the engine but not with the gearbox. can you advice, and also help me with your phone number please.

not a stupid purchase, I'm sure u bought it cheap. you got what u bargained for.
secondly dont get any ecu swap done just yet. I had an issue sometime ago, Gazuzz helped me solve it in proxy.....ur exact issue, car doesn't get past 3rd gear...Toyota calls it limp mode to avoid destroying ur excessive pinging due to lack of input from the knock sensor so that ur ecu can retard or increase ur valve timing. problem was the knock sensor as ur scanner rightly indicated. confirm wiring and harness from ecu to knock sensor, I'm guessing urs is 2azfe like mine, get some technical help and supervise it. I'm pretty sure the problem centers around the knock sensor. in my case I'm pretty good with diy and have all necessary tools now multimeter included. got the wiring diagram of ecu and color coding and traced the whole sh......t.

PS I swapped ecu, purchased another gearbox..... before I realized I had more technical knowledge than the kazeems (like 6of them... some from aba , Onitsha)

Trip A is just a trip counter, the odometer is different but accessible from same place. Push the knob to cycle display through trip A, Trip B and others until odometer displays.

If CEL came on after driving then the problem must have been existing before the car was shipped or a part was stolen. Its possible battery terminals were disconnected during shipping which cleared the codes. Some more serious codes will show even before engine starts while others will show after driving.

Maintenance reqd light means the car is due for service or the car was serviced without resetting the light.

Our 2004 Toyota Sienna LE 3MZ-FE has a dashboard light which is now constantly on when the car is being driven. My dear says its been like this for about a year.The manual says the car should be taken to the dealer. We did a scan and got the reading:PO430 and PO303. Please advise on the meaning of these readings, the action to be taken and the availability and cost of spares if required. The car was bought and worked on just before we left Lagos in 2013( we changed the silencer then)and we have only serviced it regularly since then. We're in Jos and haven't linked up with a trusted mechanic. Now we need to, we need education so we are not taken for a couple of elderly fools. Thank you for helping us.

P0430 catalytic converter bank 2 (facing radiator) below threshold (faulty most likely burnt out) P0303 misfire on cylinder 3.

I need repair history on the work done on the exhaust before I can continue giving advice on the P0430.

For the P0303 replace all sparkplugs (if they are bad) clean out all injectors.

For a technician in JOS there seems to be 1 very closely let me research.
