Giddyperson: I used the one in the 3rd pic for my newborn till about 5months. I guess it's because of the tender nature of their skin. Started using the one in the 2nd pic afterwards till date, quite soft and no complain. |

hunniesuzie:I bought washcloths too but we've never used them to bath her cuz it looks soft, she sweats and her skin is peeling off in some places cuz of a rash she had in her first week, I need something that can take off all that mixed with powder. I'd sha try a washcloth tonight just Incase I've been underestimating it. portable4real:What is baby Ghana sponge biko Gaily04:Thanks, I like the 2nd pix too cuz that's what's used for my 2 year old nephew, it's just the right amount of soft and hard. I'd definitely switch to it when she's old enough, was hoping to see someone that's used it for a newborn tho with good reviews so I can switch faster |

lastbornop: The side effect as i was told. More than normal blood during p. but it resolves in about 3 months. ... i didnt experience it sha. My p was scanty as always. Its none hormonal so no acne or fattening.... cos its just there preventing pregnancy by not allowing d egg to implant.... Its alters nothing. Mine was not comfortable when i first had it... infact i was walking like someone who was just disv.... cos i was aware. Along the line.... i ignored it... and now i am looking 4 it sef. 1 Like |

lastbornop: It's non hormonal so it won't make u fat.. I felt a little cramping after d insertion but that's totally normal. I used to have menstrual cramps pre-pregnancy but it stopped post-pregnancy. And No, iud doesn't gimme menstrual cramps either . Hth 1 Like 1 Share |

So my baby is sleeping beside me today and her breathing is so noisy, I know babies breathe weird but she sounds really stuffy so I've been up half the night just watching her breathe (ftm things, maybe cuz I usually don't spend the nights with her, when her breathing is noisy I shine my phone light at her until it stops, when she's quiet, I place my hand on her chest to make sure she's still breathing who can please the world) anyway so I tried to google it and this came up . People are crude. Anyway apparently it's normal for a baby to breath like her airways are stuffed up, that's what I was about to type, not like a pig 3 Likes

Giddyperson: What really matters is how soft the sponge is on the skin. What I do (no matter how soft the sponge is) is to soak the new sponge in boiling hot water with added dettol for some hours. This further helps in softening the sponge. Personally, I would use No 2 for the body from 4 weeks and No 3 for the face. At least once a month, for hygenie reasons, I soak all sponges in fairly hot water and dettol. I also ensure I replace them with new ones often. 2 Likes |

Top of the morning to you all mamas. On the issue of sponge, I once had that issue. When ds was born, mil used the local sponge on him, but it has been soaked in hot water and savlon before I got home. And I continued with the trend till he was three months old. After that I decided to change his sponge and started making enquiries. I was advised by a dermatologist not to use sponge on him. I only use his soap and he has never had any skin ish. He is 16 mths old now. Even on myself I use sponge once in a while. It isn't advisable to scrub a baby's body 2 Likes 1 Share |
