If they are back but buys only through cross deals, do you think that will benefit players like us?

EARNINGS REVIEW - FIRST BANK NIGERIA HOLDINGS PLC

FBNH PLC: Q1’2017 & FY’2016 EARNINGS RELEASE

Monumental Loan Loss Provisioning Pressured Top Line Growth

FBN Holdings PLC (‘’FBNH’’ or ‘’The Group’’ or “The Bank”) recorded mixed performances across FY’16 and Q1’17 financial periods. Whilst “the Group” recorded improved top-line performances across both periods, the bottom-line was dampened by sizable loan loss provision, amidst deteriorating asset quality and rising Non Performing Loan (NPL). Gross Earnings grew by 15.7% to N581.8bn in FY’16 (Vs. N502.7bn in FY’15) above consensus estimate and Lead’s estimate of N490.5bn...

The decline in the bottom-line was pressured by a copious N226.0bn loan loss provision (coupled with deteriorating asset quality), amidst an industry high NPL ratio of 24.4%. Consequently, Profit After Tax (PAT) shed by 19.1% YoY to N12.2bn below consensus estimate and Lead’s N39.1bn FY’16 forecast. In spite of the pressured earnings, “FBNH” proposed a dividend of N0.20 in perfect conformity with our estimate (Lead estimate: N0.20), backed mostly from the profits it made from its other subsidiaries.

On the other hand, “the Group” Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ) performance revealed a declined in profitability for Q1’17, posting a PAT of N16.2bn (-23.4% YoY) despite the impressive 31.4% growth recorded in Gross Earnings for Q1’17 at N141.2bn (Vs. N107.6bn in Q1’16). The top-line growth was dampened by sizeable stake in loan loss expense, posting a higher than expected loan loss provision hitting high at 126% QoQ to N28.8bn (Vs N12.8bn Q1’16) as asset quality challenges continues to hit operations…

Earnings Estimate and Target Price Reviewed Upward, Buy Rating Retained
Consequent on the stronger than expected top-line performance recorded for FY’16 and Q1’17 periods, we have reviewed our earnings estimate upward. We expect Interest Income to increase marginally as the fixed income deposits gets attractive with inflation rate on the downtrend. Similarly, we expect Non-Interest Income to flow high in FY’17 on the heels of expected FX gains and more tax-free returns from fixed income trading…

Overall, we are optimistic about the Group’s long term performance, hence, we forecast EPS of N0.41 for FY’17 (Vs. N0.34 in FY’16) and DPS of N0.25 for FY’17 (Vs. N0.20 in FY’16). Thus, we have reviewed our 12-month Target Price (TP) upward to N4.86 (Vs. previous N4.34), indicating a substantial investment benefits from the closing price of N3.85 as at 11/05/2017 and we recommend a buy on the stock.

Nope,

As long as your Euro account is credited, you have the choice to withdraw Euro cash or transfer it

Beloved,

DON'T REVENGE... VENGANCE IS THE LORD'S.
