Hi everyone.

So I have taken time to go thru this thread and know the processes from certification to translation to legalisation (DOV) to preenrollment (when the admission letter is ready).....and then the visa application.

My case is a little different. I obtained admission for an advanced master's program (which is almost equivalent to a PhD). The academic requirement for entry to this course is to have a master's degree......
So the uni asked me to get a DOV for only my master's degree (which I obtained in london).

I was wondering how I should go about the certification of the london degree here in nigeria before going through the other processes.

The only option I know of for now is to get the DOV for this certificate from the italian consula office in london, which requires certifications to be first done by a notary public in London. I'm in naija now, so that is not even an option.

The advanced master program starts in January 2018 though.

Also, if I eventually pull through this, when applying for a visa, i guess i will need to legalize (possibly get a DOV?) for only the non-academic documents (e.g birth certificate) in addition to the DOV for the London degree. Since the uni says the DOV for the London degree is all they require for student registration, I'm thinking I would not need a DOV for my other academic certificates. ......except the Italian embassy still requires them for a study visa.

Sorry for the long epistle, but answers will be much appreciated.

Note: Certain parts of the text was just modified

Yes I know. What I'm saying is that I need a DOV for the London degree. But how do I start the certification. MOE and MFA certify only Naija degree right? Do u have an idea of how to do such in Nigeria here

Between, I made some modifications to the text I posted earlier

Information reaching me for all those who applied for polito and have not gotten admission it likely it might not come to Nigerians this year or maybe few unlike other years. They are admitting people seeking asylum and the limited English courses are offered to them.

If your waiting for polito I think u should move to the next school.

ghostmist:
Could've helped you with the contact but it's stored in my other phone, which I left in Abuja. He lives in Area 1. just beside the mosque after area 1 shopping complex.

Translation is a lot cheaper in Lagos. He charges 4k per doc, but may give you discount of a thousand or two. you're going to spend more than twice what you would have spent in Lagos. So, if you are going to do your legalization in Lagos, its best you come down here for translation.
my legalization is on the 25th of this month. Can i finish the translation within 2 days?

It depends on the translator. They usually give from 5 -7 days. you should start now.

Thank you.

One more thing. Since it takes up to 7days for translation. I was wondering if I could contact the V.I translation woman to kick start translating (I'll probably transfer the fee to her and send soft copies of the documents), while I go to Abuja for certification. I live in the east, so going twice to Lagos (i.e. to submit for translation after certification, and then to pick up translated documents b4 proceeding for legalisation) might not be too economical. What do you think?

I did same too. I feel if you can explain to the lady with a good manner of approach, she'll be able to help with it. I used the woman at Onikan. Just give her a call from 9:30am on Monday. There's basically everything on this thread except for little clarifications you might need to ask for. I got her number from page 1 posted by Rubenic about 5 years ago. I know it's hard but let's try to read through. Thanks to everyone here for a good job. God bless you.
N.B: Always give a try, don't assume.

Update: @smithsydny so I called the contact you gave me. he agreed 20k for certifying 6 docs at the MOE and MFA. Though I'll send the documents to him via these Abuja transporters. I guess that price is ok.

I even just remembered I didn't count my transcripts, that makes it 8 docs (but 9 pages).

Primary school certificate (affidavit actually, cos my primary school misplaced it), ssce, bsc certificate, msc certificate, b.sc transcript (2 pages), msc transcript.

Thanks guys, this thread has actually been more useful than the italian website or contact phone lines
