Nowenuse:i dont understand how some people dey reason . nigeria is selling gas . ghana is buying it. and even hold on pay base on business agreement. Ghana is developing its gas pipeline. And that will soon affect nigeria. Ghana is the highest buyer of nigeria gas and that is contributing a lot to nigeria gdp. I think ghana deserve an appreciation here. Mr lekki . Is that the latest. Do you know what is currently going on in accra now. Goverment just recived 250million canadia n dollar to embark on youth empowerment. Create job for the youth and i think that is better than lekki development. 1 Like |

vaxx: Ghana did not witness or survive a war or decades of visionless military rule. So, Ghana has never had a good reason not to make progress. Nigeria is rich, yes, but a larger population to cater for will ways make wealth look like poverty. Ghana has a sole ethnic majority group who control and dominate the entire affairs of the country unlike Nigeria where there are 3 majority groups who are always fighting each other for domination. Nigeria is also making progress too, we are not sleeping while Ghana is making progress. Nigeria even has the advantage in development because we are developing many more cities/financial centres at the same time. |

vaxx: Lekki is a free trade zone which will further boost the financial power of the existing financial giant of Africa (Lagos state). Of course it will create jobs too. Meanwhile, Ajaokuta steel industry which has swallowed hundreds of millions of Naira on it's revival will create hundreds of thousands of Jobs. Check it out! http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/05/ajaokuta-steel-company-create-500000-employment/ I keep on telling Ghanaians and Kenyans. For almost every single development they are making, Nigeria is making 4. |

Nowenuse:there is a solid ground for development in tokyo. japan has a positive leader with good mindset. tokyo stock exchange alone is only next to newyork. So there is a big finance access and solid ground to accomodate 50million population. Lagos is not so. Presently lagos population stood toward 22million which is too much on lagos revenue. How much is lagos stock exchange. The business activity in lagos for now can not care for the ballon population. No state in nigeria will overtake lagos in development in the next 100years. Lagos has two advantage which no nigeria state has. Land and, water border. A good means of doing business. But lagos overpopulation now is a big problem.accra also has this advantage. |

Nowenuse: These counties are quite autonomous than the provinces before them. Rather than the heads of the counties being political appointees, as was the case in the old constitution, it is the people that get to determine who to be the heads (governers) of these counties thru elections. Rather than the national govt in Nairobi determining for the counties what development project to undertake in these counties as they used to with the provinces, since the national govt then controlled all the funds and the resources, now these counties can determine for themselves what development projects to undertake. It is the county govts that serve as the stewards of all the resources available within the county rather than the national govt. They also get to collect taxes. They can enact laws thru their parliaments. They are incharge of the certain public services such as education and health and public works, (not security, however for that is solely the role of the state govt). That means they even have appointed ministers, vetted by the county parliament prior to their taking up the roles. The national govt is not required to meddle in the affairs of these counties unless it is a really a major issue, such as a run away insecurity or a malfunction within the county adminiatration rendering it ineffective as a govt. By and large, they are quite autonomous, to the extent I have thot they should appropriately have been called "states" instead of counties, for they operate really as miniature countries within a country. But then again, what is in a name? Would it cease to be a rose were it called a thistle? As long as they serve their envisaged purpose, that of devolving power and developement at the grassrots level' the name does not really matter. |

Hbuyosh: I see. Had Kenya done this earlier, the country would have been more urbanized and Nairobi slums wouldn't have been such an issue as it is today. So are the Kenyan counties now developing their new administrative capital cities? Are these counties going to build and maitain their own universities and tertiary institutions? How is the Central govt allocation to these counties like? |

Nowenuse:mr man you dont have history? ghana has withness many numerous bloody coup that put the whole nation into ransom. Jerry rawlings is a milliatry dictator. he rule for over 12 years in millitary style. Very active and full of action. 1996 to 1997 was a big issue in ghana. Many jobs were lost . Succide case was rampard. I ask you ?have you ever que for food? it happens in ghana in the late 70 to 80. This is hardship. Even biafra civil war was not terrible to the extent of absence of food.yoruba and hausa are enjoying during the war. it is only the igbos that really feel the hit. ghana is mutil ethnicity like nigeria. they also deal with tribal issues like nigeria. it is just that they have developed a good mechanism to handle it. they are more than 50 majour tribe in ghana. the volta region of ghana and northern region are badly look upon by ashanties.this is a problem . the natural resources nigeria posses is enough to cater for the population. country which have less to zero like china is doing well. ghana is doing well basically than nigeria becuse of good leadership. |

naijalander: At the federal level, it is very poor. But at the state level, youths are coming up in Nigeria. Nigeria does not really operate the same kind of govt with other African countries and that is the ish. Our federal govt/presidency is seen as the position for the 'King of Kings'. Most Nigerians/the Nigerian system will never trust a Presidential aspirant who has never been a governor, Federal Speaker, Senate president or Vice president before. Does it not take decades to climb up these political careers? |

ccollins: Yes sir, Again you are wrong on many counts. Firstly, Oil is just 10% of Nigeria's GDP. Nigeria's GDP is roughly $US 500 Billion. so 10% of $US 500 Billion is $US 50 Billion. Now subtract $US500 - $US 50 billion = $US 450 Billion. So you are wrong our Nigeria would still be the greatest/largest Economy in Africa without Oil. Also sir, i would advice that you educate yourself on the economics of Nigeria. Nigeria is the biggest Economy in Africa!!. There is no debate about that. Even without oil. I understand that we have some very basic problems like security,Energy,Human rights e.t.c but even America suffers most of those things its normal with big countries. Is Nigeria perfect = No Do we have a long way to go = YES Are we the greatest Country in Africa = YES!!! 1 Like |

NairobiWalker: I mentioned festac, Maryland, Apapa, Anthony, Yaba, Surulere, Gbagada, Ilupeju, Iyana-paja e.t.c as dominantly average/low and high middle class areas. I can always mention more for you to check out. Why can't you guys ever list the average, high and low middleclass areas of Nairobi for us? All your poor areas are slums (so we rule that out). Are you guys trying to tell us that all the average and low middleclass Kenyans live in those beautiful and expensive parts of Nairobi?? |
