Jay254: Somebody posted the pictures and it doesn't determine what is on ground in Ibadan. I have lived there, so I know what I am talking about. The pictures of what you are seeing there are pictures of the old city built around 15 century or thereabouts. Places like Beere, Oje etc. There are many other areas that are better planned with basic infrastructures. The CBD is the first of its kind in Sub Sahara Africa. We have bodija, Jericho, Iyaganku etc. These areas alone will swallow Kisumu best development and will still remains best porch areas. Ibadan real Estate is number 4 in Nigeria after Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. The industries in Ibadan alone is more than what you can imagine. Bring it on and show me the amenities on ground in Kisumu and I will overwhelm you with the infrastructures on ground in Ibadan. Kenya government knows the importance of taking good pictures as a tourist destination country hence the well taken pictures of beautiful places in Kenya but our government doesn’t know what effect pictures will only bring to the table. 2 Likes |

Kenyanstar:Is this what you are comparing with Nigeria? Ahn Ahn kilode, some of you are mistaking Niger for Nigeria, some would visit Bamako and say they visited Abuja. Nigeria is a big country with so many poor amenities but it is way better than this gross misrepresentation. |

These Nigerians dont want to face the facts that Nairobi is morr developed than their Lagos. Nowenuse, perhaps we should start inundating this p thread with the Nairobi suburbs here. We should start comparing the suburbs in Lagos and Nairobi here. I can say this quite straight facedly that, in the ssAfrica, only the South African cities trounce the Kenyan cities in terms of the quality of the residential areas. NairobiWalker: |

freshest4live:No official figures exist to the public about the GDP of the city. There are varying estimates, that it comtributes btwn 20 to 40 percent to the national GDP. Kenya GDP currently stands at 75bn$, I would take the middle ground there that it accounts for the 30% of the national GDP. May I inform u that Nairobi is not just tourism, it is the largest industrial, banking, communication, a major transport hub, a huge comcentration of retail centers, a booming real estate sector, insurance and hospitality imdustries and one of the leading centers for the foreign investors seeking to make their inroads into the African market. Why wouldnt such a city boast of a sizable GDP? The general concensus is that Nairobi is in fact, the wealthiest city in the whole of the east Africa. |

Eastwalk:Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu/Eldoret (their population is very close), Thika, Lamu, Kitale That is the official list, however some popultion experts dispute those rankings. They have also looked at the populations of some of the towns that form parts of the Nairobi metroppolitan area, ie Ruiru town is said to be larger than Kisumu and Eldoret. Kikuyu town just outside Nairobi has population comparable with fourth largest town. That the third largest town in Kenya should in fact be Dadaab, the large refugee town located near the border with Somalia, for it it holds a much larger population than Nakuru (in some cases Dadaab would get even close to a million during droughts or intensification of conflicts accross the border in Somalia, but Nakuru has less than 600k pipo) |

freshest4live:lack of moral and wickedness is very common among nigerians. Only few are excluded. Let me tell you an incidence that happen in accra. There is a place called abelekuma near gbawe .a suburb of accra. Some young nigerians boys came to book a hotel room called brown. This nigerians were three in number. Unknowningly to the hotel attendant that this boys were drug peddler and have a criminal intention. He took them in. But Luck run out on these boys . One of them die as a result of the drug constipation he swallow. Instead of the two remaning boys to pity for the death of their freind. They proceed to tear out the boy belly and escape with the drug. I was almost arrested on this issue becuse the hotel is my relaxation spot when i was in ghana. The manager knows me as a nigeria and he reported to the police i may have information on them since we are from the same country. Fortunately for me i have a good point to vindicate myself. the bottom line. nigerians criminal activities in the diaspora is so much that is even affecting us we the innocent. |
