freshest4live: Stay there let them be deceiving you. With a population of 46.7 million, 37 percent of Kenyans still rely on unimproved water sources, such as ponds, shallow wells and rivers, while 70 percent of Kenyans use unimproved sanitation solutions. This translates into more than 17.3 million people using unimproved water sources and 32.7 million people using unimproved sanitation facilities. http://water.org/country/kenya/ |

iblawi: Sometimes I wonder, do you guys have Google maps in Nigeria? You're so hell-bent on this slum thing pushing in everyone's face how 60% of Nairobi is slums. Why don't you go to Google maps and see for yourself? Why don't you view Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret, Kutale, Thika, Nyeri, Kisii, Machakos, Kakamega and every other Kenyan town and tell us if you can view those 60% slums? What do you get from repeating a lie that's been told over and over and convincing yourself that it's true? |

Hbuyosh: Lagos state has only one slum MAKOKO, i have proven that to you guys here countless times. Nairobi has the largest and most numerous slums in Africa and that is a fact. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by 9jakool: 7:12am On May 14, 2017 |
NairobiWalker: The map is credited to the author, Macy Hunter, who claimed to get her sources from World bank. Now that that's out of the way, since I've done my own share, don't be a hypocrite and cite your own sources too with the date and source. https://www.google.com/search?q=gini+map&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiS5-ni2O7TAhXI7YMKHYxGAa4Q_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=974#imgrc=OZxUq6IeUaCfiM: Now, admittedly the credibility of the author might be in questioning as I just realized she's an editor on Wikipedia, I'm going to actually use the actual figures from World Bank. World bank's Gini coeficient is calculated sporadically and not on an annual basis. The last calculated Gini by World Bank of Kenya was back in 2005 with a Gini of 48.51. The last Gini index of Nigeria was done in 2009 with a Gini coefficient of 42.97, the previous Gini coefficient by WB was calculated from 2003 and was 40.06. You can download the excel file from http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SI.POV.GINI?end=2014&start=2014&view=map&year_high_desc=true In Oxfarm's report looking at the inequality in Uganda, it gave a Gini figure of 0.477 as of 2013. News Article: http://allafrica.com/stories/201703310178.html Report: https://www.oxfam.org/sites/www.oxfam.org/files/file_attachments/oxfam_in_uganda_inequality_report_compressed.pdf So, there you have it. Case Closed Since you are focused on this particular claim, I don't see you refuting my other claims. Mmmmmh interesting... |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Nowenuse: 7:22am On May 14, 2017 |
NairobiWalker: Why do you lie recklessly? According to the world fact book on urbanization, Kenya was only 25% urban in 2015, while Nigeria was 47% urban. Check the link below https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/fields/2212.html Google map cannot estimate the population of a slum because slums are irregular settlements, hence a slum occupying a smaller landmass can house more people. |

Hbuyosh: I have dared all the Kenyans here before to a challenge of pictures of Lagos VS Nairobi average and low middleclass suburbs, but they all evaded and chickened away. So, are you up for the challenge now? |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by 9jakool: 7:29am On May 14, 2017 |
Nowenuse:I corrected him on this too, but he didn't respond. You can see he's trying so hard to relate Kenya's urbanism to Nigeria's by stretching the figures. I mean it's not a surprise, Lagos alone is the largest city in Africa. It's not even an argument, it's hard fact that's difficult to refute based on the stats. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Nowenuse: 7:31am On May 14, 2017 |
Isahalbash: Kai, abokina, na gaji da wannan musu. I wonder how you really intend to dispute the fact that yoruba and middlebelt muslims are more peaceful and tolerant than core-northerners on average. The whole world knows this. Go and educate your people (core-northerners) out of their ravaging illiteracy and high poverty rates before you come here to argue anything. Your people have some of the highest poverty and illiteracy in Africa and not just Nigeria. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by iblawi(m): 7:39am On May 14, 2017 |
NairobiWalker: I didn't say it. I've posted many sources here before now that claimed Nairobi alone have over 200 slums. Kibera have nothing less than 13 communities and it's in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya. Please tell us how many communities are in the other slums. The recent source I posted still claim 2/3 of 3.5 million people that live in Nairobi stay in slums. The good part of it is that you have the largest slums in the world with the poorest set of people living in them. |

vaxx: I have succeeded in exposing you. I bet people like Iblawi fell for your written yoruba. I cannot fall for your written hausa because i know that many Ghanaians can speak and write yoruba and Hausa. You claim to know Nigeria, but first of all you disgraced yourself by claiming that Abuja has 66 districts instead of 37, and now you claim that Kawo is in Jos instead of Kaduna. You are either a Ghanaian or half Nigerian half Ghanaian or a naturalized Ghanaian from Nigeria, but you are not fully Nigerian (born and bred in Nigeria). So, CHALI, stop claiming Naija and stick to your Ghana!! |

forgiveness: The satelite town development agency (STDA) of Abuja was created specially for the development of Abuja satelite towns. There has been a lot of construction and renovation of roads linking and within the satelite towns. Estate developers are being given plots in satelite towns and forced to develop them by the govt, and you won't believe the beautiful, standard and comparatively cheaper estates being built in some Abuja satelite towns. Niger and Nasarawa state govts must put their hands together with FCTA in this, because many Abuja satelite towns have developed into Nasarawa and Niger states. Nasarawa state governor is trying here but Niger state governor is something else. |

iblawi: Sources, sources, sources. Are those sources more credible than Google earth? How many times should I tell you those so called sources are stupid NGOs wanting to rip big? Why don't you check on Google maps and see the REAL image of Nairobi before you make such assertions? |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by NairobiWalker(m): 8:40am On May 14, 2017 |
Nowenuse: Yet you're the same person who claimed a few pages ago that Nairobi Metro has 10 million people - that alone is almost 25% of Kenya.....Maybe you want us to believe that Nairobi Metro is the only urban area in Kenya. But again, you'll always handpick some silly sources when they favor you. Believe what you want budy. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Nowenuse: 8:41am On May 14, 2017 |
NairobiWalker: I have checked out almost all these places you mentioned and what i observed is that most of these places you listed are just estates and neighbourhoods. Whereas some of the places i am listing for you in Lagos are entire local govt areas and towns with hundreds of thousands to millions of people, dozens of estates, streets/neighbourhoods that function almost independently of Lagos city. I have now really concluded that there is no need to compare Lagos and Nairobi. |

Isahalbash: There is nothing to argue with you, because all Nigerians know that you core-northerners are the ones dragging Nigeria backwards with your religious extremism. Don't try to drag middlebelt muslims with you in your backwardness. You can imagine what that shameless Zamfara governor came out to say, that God is punishing his citizens with meningitis because of their sins. I asked you, why don't Kwara, Kogi and Nasarawa muslims or yoruba muslims fight for sharia law in their states as core-northerners if they so much practice the same kind of islam? You could not answer. How many times have you heard Igala, Ebira, Gwari, Nupe, Bariba or Alago muslims burning churches, beheading people or fighting people of other religions in their homelands? Or you think all Nigerians don't know how core-northerners discriminate yoruba and middlebelt muslims as fake muslims ba? Oga, go and sit down. You have nothing to say! 1 Like |

mtis: He's definitely a troll. I make a post referring him to 30 neighborhoods I listed and four minutes later he responds claiming he's checked all of them and made a conclusion that they're incomparable to Lagos and have no roads and no local governments. Lol.....I wonder where he checked and the speed he used to check. |

You are too dull for my liking. you said abuja is 37 district. i will like you to provide unbiased link that support your claim. you said what is in jos? here i am lost. you have to enlighten me. i stay very close to semchark opposite unijos along bauch road.
