i cant see ignorance here. too open for a glaring veiw. do you know how a buifing will arise to 27 floors. hope you know how floors are structured. Not a long pole without function.

There is no single pole any of the buildings in Abuja.

Tallest building are measured in meters not floors dummy.

I give it to Accra. I knew all the strive against Accra being the Washington DC of Africa was because you wanted Abuja to be that.

......and Ibadan has skyscrapers? Really? lol. You're a funny guy.

What makes a city Washington DC of Africa?

Of course, Ibadan has a skyscraper way before Kenya and South Africa dreamt of having one. grin

Leave the history to me grin. Nigeria swells in deep history.
*Yes we have a lot of them- Benin, Kano, Sukurr, Sokoto, Ife etc.

Benin had the largest earthworks in the world which took 150 million hours of manpower to build. It also had one of the earliest mathematically grid-planned cities in the world as well as one of the first cities to adopt a system of street lightning. grin
Kano was a medieval walled city that produced scholars and flourished from trade especially through the trans-saharan trade routes. Leather and other fine goods produced in Kano and hausaland were valued for their quality in European courts. grin
Ife produced some of the finest and realist works of art in the world during the middle ages. Over a thousand years ago, Ife had paved courtyards and streets. grin

*Oyo empire not Ibadan empire. Ibadan was just a provincial city, the captial was Oyo.

*True as well as Edo and Hausas.

where do you get your benchmark for 100m. it this is what wikipedia says about skyscraper and by this standard. accra has one that beat nigeria. A skyscraperis a tall, continuously habitable building having multiplefloors. When the term was originally used in1880s it described a building of 10 to 20 floors but now describes one of at least 40–50 floors.[1]Mostly designedfor office, commercial and residential uses, a skyscraper can also be called ahigh-rise, but the term "skyscraper" is often used for buildings higher than 50 m (164 ft). For buildings above a height of 300 m (984 ft), the term "supertall" can be used, while skyscrapers reaching beyond 600 m (1,969 ft) are classified as "megatall".[2]

Ibadan also had a skyscraper before Dubai had one but that's a single building that stands out as a sore thumb in the middle of badly planned ugly midgets. Sorry sir, that's not enough to call Ibadan a city of skyscrapers.

I don't know why you're so inclined on this Ibadan having the first skyscraper. A skyscraper is a skyscraper irrespective of the time it was built. Nairobi got KICC 4 years after ugly Cocoa House was built and KICC is now a small tower in the mid of numerous other skyscrapers. Furthermore KICC is still an architectural masterpiece.

No, Accra doesn’t have a single structure at 100m fit to be called a skyscraper. Meanwhile, Ibadan and Lome have a skyscraper each while Abuja has two already with one underconstruction.

Maybe, you meant highrise which must have 12 stories atleast but despite that Abuja still has more highrise than Accra. grin
well is subjective sha.
