1) Not Indicating

Apparently, the most irritating bad driving habit is drivers who don’t indicate. Without indicating, other drivers have no way of knowing what you are going to do. It’s not just annoying, it is potentially dangerous and could lead to an accident.

2) Poor Lane Discipline

Undertaking, hogging the middle lane, and veering across more than one lane at once are all annoyances for other drivers.

3) Driving With Fog Lights On When Not Needed

Other drivers really hate it when other road users dazzle them with their fog lights on when they aren’t needed. They should only be used in visibility under 100m.

4) Bad Roundabout Etiquette

Slamming on the brakes, driving around in the wrong lane, pulling out when there is someone coming, and pulling on to a roundabout when your exit is blocked and clogging it up are all very annoying habits.

5) Very Erratic Driving

Cutting in and out of lanes, heavy braking and acceleration rather than proceeding smoothly, unnerves other road users and can easily cause accidents.

6) Using Mobile Phone Whilst Driving

It is surprising that this is only number 6 in the list of annoying driving habits, as it is one of the most dangerous, as it takes your eyes off the road.

7) Tailgating

Continually driving too close behind another car is dangerous and very annoying. Leave at least a 2 second gap to the car in front, and 4 seconds when it’s raining.

Pulling Out Without Looking

Don’t put the responsibility for avoiding a crash in the hands of other drivers. Make sure you check carefully in both directions before pulling out from a junction.

9) Bad Parking

Drivers who take up more than one space, park diagonally, or park so close that you cannot get in and out of your vehicle.

10) Speeding

This is something we all tend to do from time to time, but it is reckless speeding in built-up areas that causes the most accidents and road rage.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 are necessary to drive in Nigeria.
They are qualities of a 'good' Nigerian driver.

After most Nigerian drivers learn to drive inside Okota Grammar School field, they will enter road and display all these bad habits.

~What of those people that insult other road users?
~The ones with very high beams, you'll think the sun came down.
~I hate those ones that try to shadow me in traffic, as sharp guys na.

imagine you waiting for some elderly people to cross the road but there's a lane beside you that can still take a car..how do you signal to the traffic on the other lane to slow down

sometimes you need to let people know they're morons but honking just wont do it

Nothing wrong with being careful on the roundabout. Some drivers do not understand not respect the rules of roundabout, so you have to be ready to brake anytime.

The lane indiscipline is the most annoying bit... And honking incessantly or unnecessarily

The car behind on the next lane is moving too slowly, leaving enough space ahead, you initiate an attempt to make your way into that lane and he suddenly remembers he's moving too slowly, charges up to cover the space, as though you were trying to steal it. I'm like what the fvck? Were you sleeping?

.The most anoying is when you indicate intent to change lane by trafficating that is when the car behind you will speed up as if you want to overtake his destiny

Not indicating is the number one evidence of those who learnt how to 'move' a car instead of driving one...it is very annoying that you're proud of such bad driving habit..Your likes have no business driving a car, you're a danger to people on the road.

Nice one op. One shld also note that:

1. Honking the horn excessively is something most naija drivers are guilty of. And it constitutes public nuisance to our society. The erratic noise alone can mess up a person's day mentally.

2. Most commercial Buses and Keke drivers do not look to ensure the road is clear before rejoining it, after dropping off a passenger. Many times I've had to dodge them and an oncoming car cos of the reckless way they try to rejoin the road. Sometimes they even stop & drop passengers whilst they are still on the major road. And if ur reflexes aren't fast, u might scratch ur vehicle against theirs.

3. Also I've noticed that most naija drivers consider themselves superior to pedestrians. Just cos they drive they now feel they have the right of way always and as a result they show little or no patience or consideration for the pedestrian. For e.g I've seen cases where pedestrians are trying to cross the road & the driver accelerates the car. Not right at all, in developed countries the pedestrian always has the right of way & most drivers always yield to them.

A few yrs back I was in Lasgidi. I parked my car at a Pharmacy store in Ajao Estate where I went to pick up some anti-malaria drugs. So after picking up the drugs, I was about leaving when I noticed a fruit store just on the other side of the road so I decided to cross over and get some bananas. I was barely halfway across the street when some lady swerved into the street and almost ran me over even though she was well within a good range to apply her brake. I just kuku vex holla the hell comot for her body. Not proud of it but it isn't cool intimidating pedestrians just cos one drives. Just my observation

I did one thing last Saturday while returning from a party,. I never knew it was wrong until some danfo driver started shouting

Up till now,. I see no wrong in what I did.

Number 3 is the worst, turning on your high beams blinds other drivers.
So long as the night is clear you don't need it.
That shît is illegal in most countries.
